Welcome to the Pet Memorial Group

For everyone who is grieving the loss of a beloved furry family member, please know that we are here for you. It helps to express yourself in whichever way works best for you, in order to move out of the intensity of the pain. It takes a lot of time, believe me, I know firsthand. It's been only two months since I lost the furry love of my life, Blackie. I think of him every day.

Please have comfort in knowing that your pet is with you in your heart and memories forever. Somehow this thought gives me peace deep down, and I hope it does for you too. If you would like to light a virtual candle in your pet's name, follow this link. It's very comforting. Just cut and paste into your browser address bar if the link isn't clickable:

Here's some positive music to comfort and soothe during the loss of a dear pet. I tried to give a variety of genres for everyone to enjoy (country, popular, traditional, etc). Listen if you like, and only if it helps you.

Just a Dog "From time to time, people tell me, lighten up 'it's just a dog', or ‘that's a lot of money to spend on just a dog’. They don't understand. Some of my proudest moments were with 'just a dog'. For many hours, my only company was 'just a dog'. Some of my saddest moments were with 'just a dog', who gave me comfort. 'Just a dog' brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and joy. 'Just a dog' brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person. I rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. 'Just a dog' brings out what's good in me. I hope someday you will understand that it's not 'just a dog', but the very thing that keeps me from being 'just a human’.” ~Unknown

Mary Ellen, I'm so enraged at this! I hope you will pursue whatever legal avenues you can to make the police department accountable. If nothing else, seems they didn't have the right to forcibly enter your home without a warrant. You might want to start there. Please keep us posted and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you .

Dear Mary Ellen, I am so sorry for your loss, is there anything you can do about this police officer? I am willing to sign petitions etc to help. I know it will never bring back your baby, but hopefully it will stop it happening

Kristi, Lacey is watching over you now and more than likely sent you the new puppy to love seeing how devasted you were. Lacey is not jealous-she is joyous knowing how much care and love you will give to another who had no home. Home your heart up to this new little one.

You and Lacey are in my thoughts tonite.

I have lost one of the most faithful and loyal friends a single woman can have. My solid White Pit Bull male. The police was sent to my house at 3:00 AM by mistake. When told that we had an aggressive dog, to please wait a moment; he pushed the door open and my dog went after him. He didn't see a police officer, he saw a man come into the house in the middle of the night. The officer shot him in the back and paralyzed him. I had to have him put down. It was heart breaking. Now the CITY says that they are not responsible. There is no justice because he was a Pit Bull.

Cheryl Martin, Thank you so much for always being there for me. Last night was very hard for me....I couldn't stop crying over Lacey, she was my child. I have a new puppy now, but I am very distant because I miss Lacey and I know she would be jealous that I was loving another dog, silly, I know.
