Laws of owning a Pit Bullterrier here in Australia

here in australia the laws are very tough if you own a pit bull terrier you have to build a cage which has to be a certain size. which o put them in always in your yard if you don't build a cage for them you risk a fine of $5,000.00 & the dog will be impounded & then destroyed which breaks my heart, they are such beautiful loving dogs & if brought up right they are ok, a friend of mine refused to put their dog in a cage so the local pound sent an officer out to collect the dog from them & he still wanted a fee for picking up the dog which is heartrenching enough without being slugged a bill for them to take the dog off you i just think the laws here stink what do others think hey cheers narelle from aussie

Putting an animal is cruel in my opinion. What if the owner has their yard cmpletely fenced in...would that make them Happy? It's sad enough that some of the most beautiful creatures in the world have to spend their lives in cages..(zoo's), now they want to keep innocent dogs in cages?
