My Lady(pit bull) 8weeks now,I'm trying to train her to start on a leash. But whats best to use? A collar or harness? She does pull away or drags with collar, but sometimes with harness too.She doesn't want to budge, and I don't want to be dragging her,so I stop. Please give me advice
When our Pit Bull Akina was that young, my husband used treats to make her come to him. Or, he used treats until she got the concept of what you want the walk to be. It took a lot of patience. He said that the harness was best. She is now 14 months, 80 pounds, and walks perfect by your side (with out treats lol). She still uses a harness for every walk. Hope that helps.
in my oppion a harnest is the best because pitbulls are reallu strong lol when i walk my pit it is very hard to do without a harnest because he is stuborn and likes to pull!! so.............. i would use a harnest at least untill she gets use to it
I use a choker and a horse lead, Dosha now walks beside me most of the time. I guess it's just a matter of choice. I prefer the harness option, but unless there is something there for control, she doesn't stop when she does pull, and even though I have a key ring in the choker to keep it from closing totally on her throat, that strap being there to semi choke her out, she stops pulling. So guess it's a matter of choice as I said. That's what works for me.
I've never seen anything like it, and I've lived in a variety of places that get ice storms.
And no one was hurt, for which we are incredibly thankful.
This ice storm reminds me of the ice storm we had in New England back in the 70s and we were with out power for a week. Reminded me of the movie Day after Tomorrow.
I hope no dogs were hurt during this storm.
