To insure the safety of EVERY dog. Please ask for references from the person or rescue who contacts you and wants to help the dog if you become involved with the process of saving a dog. You may have heard of the rescue but don't know anything about them, PLEASE ask for references. If the person or rescue is legitimate, they will be glad you asked for a reference. If they are offended that you asked for a reference, ask yourself "why" they would be offended? It is better
for a dog to be euthanized humanely at a shelter than to end up in
the wrong hands.

REFERENCE LIST:

1) Vet Reference(s) if they just recently started using this vet clinic, ask for the name of the one they used before this vet - some people move because of bad rescue practices which could indicate substandard veterinarian care for their rescues.

2) If they are a legitimate rescue and have filed paperwork with their local government.

3) Shelter reference.

4) Ask for local ASPCA, humane society number or, shelter number.

5) At least (2) Forever Homes that this "rescue" has adopted to.

6) Local rescue group that they have worked with on transport level or foster level.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Please check out some of these Pit Bull Rescue Groups to help with placing a Pit Bull. Arrangements for transports can always be made to get a dog to its destination.

Odie (White) and Boo Boo (Brindle) are looking for new homes, Foster is backing out. Boo Boo is 2.5 yr old female, and Odie is 5 yr old male. Owner Told us that both are pitbull, and that they are bi-product of in breeding, from mother, father, brother, and sister all running around a house uncontrolled, and not fixed. Odie still looks American Bulldog to me, but who am I to argue... these two dogs just need a new home before our foster can't keep them anymore. No matter the breed, these dogs need a good home. If anyone can help, they can contact my rescue at pitbulls@loveapit.org, or fill out a online application for foster or adoption. You can also call Gail @ Watchdog (503)625-4563. She is extremely busy and don't get all calls, but please, if u haven't heard from her in 24 hours, keep trying, she will return your call.

Have you ever tried to take a picture of a dog to show how skinny it is? They never come out looking as skinny in the picture as they do in real life. Now look at this picture of Rusty.

If you can help or advise, please do. If you can rescue, Bless You. If not, please look and pass on until someone does help him. Thank you friends. This is a crosspost from the lovely state of Georgia. Peachy isn't it? Sorry. Starving dogs bring out my not so good side.

My coworker found this poor pup Friday evening in Snellville near Pate Road and Temple Johnson. Could you please post to your distribution list?

Red male pit bull – no collar, tags or microchip.

Here are the photos of "Rusty" who I found lying on the side of the road on the way home Friday evening.

I took him to a vet on Friday evening and had him checked out head to toe. His shots are now up to date, he has no diseases or illnesses of any kind, is very healthy other than the low bodyweight which we are currently working on. He is eating very well, and has a superb temperament. He is very loving, and playful with me and my family. I'm confident he'll make a great pet for someone.

Let me know if you have any suggestions, or know of a place I can take him for adoption.
Thanks for your help,

Tom

Hello everyone... Im asking for people in the missouri area to consider taking in some pit bull begale mix pups.
The mother is a purebred pit bull the father is a pitbull with a little begeal.
Unfortionatly my sisters dog got pregant and around here it is really hard to find suitable owners for pitbulls.
People that we can trust to treat the puppys well.
with all the fighting rings that have been busted around here lately it's a scary thought for a owner thats about to have puppys.
The father is white with a few brindle patches with brown eyes. He's a very pretty dog....
The mother is also an extremly beautiful dog.
I hope everyone around the missouri area will take this into consideration were expecting her to have around 11 pups. We would really hate to take them to a shelter and would want to know who these babys will go to.
Please contact me on here if your interested.
Thank you

Hello all.
Were to start, My sister has a two yr old pitbull plot mix.
She's an absolute doll. Well unfortionatly my sister may have to give her up. Her name is Pixie belive me she lives up to her name. Well unfortionatly my sisters 3 yr old step son pulled her ear because he was getting aggravated with her and he pulled her ear hard.
So naturally like any dog would do when in pain she ended up nipping him. Well her fiance wants her to give up the dog.
Im telling you she is a complete angel. She loves to give kisses all the time she loves attention and loves being close to people. We would prefer some one have a fenced in yard because she loves to be outside. She gets along great with anyone. And other animals including ferrits.
She does have seperation anxiety which causes her to tear things up.so she has been kennel trained for when some one leaves or she will stay outside,When you pick her up to hold her its almost as if your holding a child. She wraps her legs around your waist and puts her paws on both of your shoulders.
She really is a great dog and a wonderful family dog expessially with older children she has alot of energy and loves to play.
She is located in Jefferson city missouri so anyone in missouri looking to expand your family look no further!
Pixie will make a great companion That I promise. She does have all her shots and is spayed.
Please. Help her have a happy ending.

Some friends of mine in Fritch, Texas recently had their dog tazed when police showed up and opened a garage door without notifying the dog owners of their presence on the property. Knowing these dogs personally...introductions are necessary, but they are very sweet. The dog that was tazed is on seizure medication and the owners are fit to be tied. The neighbor that called in the dogs as "having been on his property" also has a complaint against him that he has stolen property from the dog owners in the past. Nothing has been done about the stolen property and the dogs are at the local pound. Suggestions???? Phone #'s of authorities that will listen?

Thank you all for your kind words. I am trying to get back into helping my Pitties and feel so helpless. There are just too many and no one is taking them. Besides helping the animals I have been helping some other people get back on their feet.

Now, we have to deal with anal people like Vicks joining The Eagles. Just what were the Eagles thinking. I don't want that schmuck up my end. Well, he some hours away but still too close.

Jackie, I have gone back to school. I was in the mist of preparing myself for my husband's death and signed up for college with the University of Phoenix online. Class started right when I just buried my husband. I had buried him in two places. He is with his parents in CT and with my dad in VT and I will be there in VT. I am working on my AA degree in Administration Assistant with concentration in the Health Field/ medical records/billing/coding.

Street Mama, very sweet 2 year old Pit mix, raising puppies in an industrial area, surviving on left over lunch scaps, was rescued and brought to our clinic. www.Paws2help.org. Two 8 week old puppies with her, the male was found to be completely deformed underneath, (not that he knows about it). He is able to urinate via a pin prick of a hole in his belly. His problems can be resolved surgically and our clinic will do this, what we need is a kind foster home for Mama and her two pups while all medical work is completed. Mama started her heartworm treatment yesterday (Wed.Aug 6th). Mama and her pups will be fixed at our clinic, prior to adoption. They need a loving temporary home, the chocolate colored female pup is still a little shy and needs a bit more hands on attention than she is getting with us.

We sent the information out to the media hoping that they could help us to find foster homes, and we were astonished to hear, "We do not do genitals" !!!. Apart from the medical needs, we felt that this was a nice story about the determination of amazing survival for this little PeeWee, living under a junk car in a (not very nice) industrial area.

Please feel free to cross post this e mail to anyone you think can help. We do not as yet have this information on our website, but can supply more information if needbe. Contact Eve direct via, evehelps@yahoo.com
