We have now opened a NEW Rescue Connection Group for rescues and volunteers. So many of the important urgent post on myspace is bumped down by breeders etc posting puppies for sale and up coming breedings. We just thought this would be another great way for rescues to connect and help these animals from all over in dier need. Please repost and join us at the RESCUE CONECTION FREE PROFILE and forums catered to rescues and the animals we all love. Dogs, Cats, Horse, And Others in need are ALL welcome to become a part of this new growing community.
We hope to see you there. We will still cross post on myspace and facebook but this forum will be all about rescues, shelters, volunteers, foster homes, and resources for all of you trying to connect!
PLEASE CROSS POST ALL OVER FR RESCUES AND VOLUNTEERS AND SHELTER GROUPS
We promise you, we will fight the BSL. We will nourish the soul and body of doggies who have had a bad start in life. We will love them, rescue them and find them loving forever homes.
This community was created to form a NATIONAL data base of volunteers to aide rescue organizations and Animal Shelters in saving our Canine friends. Our main objective is to save as many homeless animals as possible. Our goal for this community is to create a data base for transports, temporary fosterhomes, homevisits and even fund raising.A place for Rescues and Animal Shelters to be able to access this list to find voluteers in their area that can help them out. If you are an Animal Rescue organization or Animal Shelter that has a transport going or needs help in anyway, then you can post the request in the forums here. ANY ANIMAL IN NEED can be posted here along with TRANSPORTERS and Transport Info or instrucions!! There will be NO FLAMMING here as we are all after the same thing. SPREADING THE WORD IS A VITAL PART OF ANY RESCUE. We are an ALL VOLUNTARY community of people who have one common goal, saving lifes.
Rescuing a dog make you feel really good. Remember not only are you doing something so special for the pet, but your also going to feel good about yourself. Furthermore people around you will sense your commitment and be inclined to do the same!!
Fw_ Puppies Need Homes.emlI'm posting this on behalf of some friends of mine who requested me to try & help find these puppies a home. It is an email from them. I've left all of the forwarded email addrresses & the main contact email address on it so if anyone is interested they have a contact point.
Street Mama, very sweet 2 year old Pit mix, raising puppies in an industrial area, surviving on left over lunch scaps, was rescued and brought to our clinic. www.Paws2help.org. Two 8 week old puppies with her, the male was found to be completely deformed underneath, (not that he knows about it). He is able to urinate via a pin prick of a hole in his belly. His problems can be resolved surgically and our clinic will do this, what we need is a kind foster home for Mama and her two pups while all medical work is completed. Mama started her heartworm treatment yesterday (Wed.Aug 6th). Mama and her pups will be fixed at our clinic, prior to adoption. They need a loving temporary home, the chocolate colored female pup is still a little shy and needs a bit more hands on attention than she is getting with us.
We sent the information out to the media hoping that they could help us to find foster homes, and we were astonished to hear, "We do not do genitals" !!!. Apart from the medical needs, we felt that this was a nice story about the determination of amazing survival for this little PeeWee, living under a junk car in a (not very nice) industrial area.
Please feel free to cross post this e mail to anyone you think can help. We do not as yet have this information on our website, but can supply more information if needbe. Contact Eve direct via, evehelps@yahoo.com
The Bark Ark Project, in conjunction with the Florida-3 Airboat Rescue Team played a vital role in the recovery of animals during recent floods in the Midwest.
"All these animals that were abandoned gravitate to higher ground and you can't get to that high ground to take care of them," says rescue captain Kevin Roderiques. "This is where the large airboat comes in handy to carry feed."
Members of the rescue team respond upon request to locations around the country with specialized watercraft to rescue pets that have been left behind.
Connie Brooks, who works with the Pinellas SPCA, helped rescue pets during Hurricane Katrina.
"It's a horrible situation that I hope in America we never have to experience again," she says. "Hopefully we don't ever have a Katrina in Florida."
If we do, the Bark Ark Project will play a major role in the recovery.
The Bark Ark Project is a non-profit organization that relies on private donations to help fund their recovery programs.

I am writing this email with a heavy heart. My friend and I got hooked
up with some wonderful ladies down in NC. These ladies are working very
hard to help save animals from the Gaston Shelter in Dallas, NC. We have
pulled a couple of dogs from there and think they are wonderful, we
adopted out a golden on the day he came up and now have Max who we are
trying to adopt out, but he is saved, cleaned, and learning all the
basic manners to be a good house dog. Upon speaking with these ladies
they showed us some other dogs that were going to be put down and we
decided to help save them. Attached is a picture of Kennan - Kennan a 3
month old Shep mix was on hold for us - but was PTS anyway. Apparently
this is how the shelter runs - not only have they put Dogs to sleep that
were on hold but they gas them and severely neglect them as well. Upon
being urged by an associate to find out more information about this
shelter and who to complain to I have heard that numerous attempts to
complain about this shelter have gone on deaf ears. I then discussed
this issue with my father who suggested the Attorney General of NC - so
I decided to make some calls. In the end after being transferred a
million times I found out that the best office to contact is the
department of Agriculture Animal welfare department. I wrote an email
this morning to them explaining my disgust with this shelter and hope
and pray that many do the same so that the person who is in charge of
Euthing these dogs will be held responsible.
Here is the email - please attach Kennan's picture to the emails you
send - let them see the face of a dog who had a home but is now in the
arms of St. Francis. This has to end!

We are still looking for a permanent home for Sissy, the pit bull, now named Vega (after the brightest star in the constellation Lyra). We thought we had a home for her in Kansas, but the person has multiple dogs and Vega has shown fearfulness due to her lack of being socialized. She needs leadership and guidance, which she readily accepts.
Where she is now will not work for a permanent home and we urgently need to find someone who will work with her closely and where she will be around no more than one other dog. She is untried around cats and other types of animals, so we are reluctant to call her "cat safe."
There is currently a huge dog-fighting bust covering 6 states and involving over 400 dogs -- and we are so afraid that her plight will be swallowed up in the greater one of all these dogs.
If you can help, or if you know ANYONE who can help, please contact me at 828-683-4316 (in North Carolina) or Linda at 515-577-1745 (Iowa). We can give you more information and history for her. Please help us save her life!

I do sincerely hope that your post and that of the others had not deterred anyone from donating to Full Moon Farm, the name is in the title of my post. That would be a sad situation if people have elected to not donate based on an error.
