PRESS RELEASE: Adopt a Cat Scratchers for Animal Shelters
Imperial Cat, a leading cat products manufacturer, is proud to introduce Scratch ‘n Bits, a new line of cat scratchers developed for use in animal shelters.
The idea for Scratch ‘n Bits originated following requests from several animal shelters that had contacted the company in search of a cat scratcher that would fit within the small space of a shelter cage. Imperial Cat accepted the challenge and began consulting with several animal welfare organizations. These organizations expressed a universal desire to enhance the lives of cats awaiting new homes, but cited budget constraints as the leading deterrent. They wanted a product that would draw the attention of potential adopters, and prepare cats for a home environment.
Imperial Cat quickly realized that they already had the perfect solution. Their Scratch ‘n Shape product line of corrugated cardboard scratchers produced large quantities of scrap material that was being bundled for recycling. These pieces varied in size and shape, but after a few design modifications, the scrap was transformed into 100% scratch-able and super affordable Scratch ‘n Bits.
Scratch ‘n Bits are available in both horizontal and vertical styles in a wide range of sizes to accommodate a variety of shelter cages. Each scratcher is labeled with a cute “Adopt a Cat” sticker designed to attract the attention of potential adopters. The company intends for the shapes to be “adopted” along with the cat. They believe this will not only assist the cat in transitioning to its new home, but will also help prevent the cat from scratching its new owners’ furniture (a leading reason that cats are relinquished to shelters).
Prices range from 65 cents to $1.50 per unit, and the company has options that include free shipping. Additionally, non profits are offered a 10% discount on regular wholesale products. Please contact Kristie Hamilton at 501-354-8466 (toll free: 1-800-783-0977) or email kristie@imperialcat.com for more information.
Imperial Cat has been in business since 1986, and has proudly rescued and rehomed over hundreds of cats that have been dropped off at their door over the past twenty years. Over 30 of those cats have made the office their home, and they "earn their keep" by posing for photographs and testing the company's cat toys, treats and scratchers.

Hi all,
I'm hoping to find some assistance with my rescue kittens. Of course I'll do everything it takes to make sure they're cared for properly, but some assistance would be much appreciated right now! I'm a recent high school graduate just starting a new job. With rent, utilities, groceries, and care for my own pets, my fosters are quite a stretch financially!
1) Kaylee and Madison, two 6-7 week old female kittens who were found in a dumpster behind a toy store in Burien a little over a week ago, are the first. I have vaccinated/wormed, flea treated, and had them tested for FIV/FeLV, and they are scheduled for their spay surgeries and another round of vaccines November 3rd. Total, this will cost a suggested donation of $60 to support the Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project. They also need to be microchipped, which will cost $20 each. That's a total of $100 needed for these two.
2) Today I picked up four bottle babies. Three are about 4 weeks old, the other is 3 weeks old. They will need 3 vaccines/rounds of wormer each, combo tests ($39 each), microchips ($20 each), and spay surgeries ($25 each). That's a grand total, excluding vaccines/wormer/flea treatment, of $336.
3) I got a call from Robin at Saving Great Animals this evening about a 13 week old kitten desperately needing to be rescued. He was a gift for a woman when he was 6 weeks old, and has since been traumatized and abused by her son, who has behavioral problems. They are going out of town tomorrow, and instead of planning to rehome or take the kitten to a shelter, the woman was going to boot him outside, unaltered and unvaccinated, to fend for himself, unless someone went right away to pick him up. He will need 3 rounds of vaccines/wormer, a combo test, a microchip, and a neuter. He is crawling with fleas, has been eating the very worst cat food possible (and having terrible gas/diarrhea!), and may need treatment for coccidia as well. Excluding vaccines/wormer/flea treatment, I'll need $84 for everything else he needs.
All in all, that's a grand total of $520 needed, just for the minimum medical costs. In addition to that, they're going through quite a bit of food/litter/bedding!
I just got a new bottle of Pyrantel wormer, but I am most desperately in need of vaccines and Frontline bottles! If anyone can find it in their budget to donate these items, it would be so so greatly appreciated.
I'll be able to use as much of these two items as is donated, since I also have 3 feral 5 month old kittens to tame that need vaccines, but they aren't as urgent since they are isolated and won't be available for adoption for some time.
Monetary donations can be mailed in the form of checks or done through paypal (this is the email address I use for Paypal, and my account is empty so any donations go straight to the kitties).
Please shoot me an email for my current mailing address, as I've had problems posting it in public in the past (most unfortunately). My email, if you don't have it, is ajludwig.6@gmail.com.
Attached are photos of some of the kittens. Kaylee and Madison together, as well as the bottle babies. I have not photographed the most recent addition.
Donations will help me to be able to lower adoption fees a bit, so these kitties can get into loving homes as soon as possible. Again, I can't really prove that these donations do go straight to caring for these kittens, but I can promise that they do, and provide references if you'd like.
If you know people you think could help, please pass this on, but please do not send out my address/phone number! I have had problems with people posing my information to weird/creepy craigslist ads about abused animals that don't involve me, and would like to avoid that!
If you are interested in fostering or adopting, feel free to contact me as well!
Thank you everyone for your continued support!!
Anna

We are trying to find a home for a female Pit. Her name is Candel and she is a special needs dog. She has been at our animal pound for over a year now and I would hate to see her spend the rest of her days there. If there is anyone looking for a sweet dog that needs some extra TLC, and are in the northern NJ area, please check her out!

I recently Rescued a mouse from the Flea Market. Anubis Was inside a plastic container in 90 degree humid weather. The man running the booth said he was makeing the mouse weaker to feed him to the snakes for sale.I broke down crying and told him to get him out of that container. he said with a cocky tone "You think your gonna rescue him?" I told him yes to give him to me. He remarked "Well i charge you 2.00 more if your gonna save him." I simply said I don't care how much im paying for him, I just want him out of a Dumba**'s care. He laughed at me and tossed to mouse to me...
after that i bought a paper fan for him then my half-sister toke it and started fanning her baby. I diddn't mind it but she told me I'm too kind to animals that i sould be meaner and that im not getting the fan back because i "looked stupid" fanning a mouse.
"Well what sould i do?Let him sit there Panting possibly haveing a heat stroke..he has fur!" After that i ran off crying to find one of those pulg in fans. The one lady running the booth told me "Your so sweet.Caring for that little thing giveing him some air." i snapped at her "My sister dosen't think so..She thinks I look stupid"
I don't care what she thinks..Its a life on the line.Just because I have a heart dosen't mean she has to criticize me.
This is a picture of a sweet dog that was confiscated along with her
one remaining puppy. The other puppies were beheaded with a machete by
their owner, who is being charged with cruelty. Although the county may
not be able to find a new home for these two until the cruelty case is
over, they really need to get out of the shelter. The lit tle one is so
young who knows what he might catch. And, the mother has skin problems
that need to be treated. Both are very, very sweet. For more
information, please call 386-329-0399 386-329-0399 . Leave a message
and your phone number. You may also email the shelter at: putnamanimals@yahoo.com. PLEASE FORWARD TO OTHER RESCUES. LET'S FIND THEM A WAY OUT OF THERE QUICKLY! FLORIDA RESCUE NEEDED
Great pictures of the all animals. just recently received a present from my husband. His name is Jigsaw and a tabby-mixed(solid black) male. Nine to ten weeks old. Adorable.

I thank you both for the compliments. Sometimes a bit of knowledge comes in handy and in her case there are no limits to what one might throw her way. Be it meival English or organic pheews.
Sorry Barbara....I've heard to many horror stories about this group to think they've done anything good. They might be trying to do good but they're failing from all I've read and heard about them. If you know something different I'd appreciate hear…
You are kidding right? Just how much do YOU really know about this group? Or are you, like with the Justice story, posting something that you received second hand and took to be the truth? And for anyone to be so arrogant to ASSume that this suppose…
