I just got a phone call this morning from Paul Casarona and he believes he has found a rescue that will take Lenny from the vet clinic in Jonesboro, GA.
I will update everyone when I get the final details!!!!!
Lenny has a rescue for sure! I got word from the owner of the pet boutique/rescue today and she said as long as he was neutered and UTD on all shots which he was not but is now. I'm not sure why the clinic in GA did the rabies, fecal, and neutered him but neglected to do Bordetella, Parvo/Distemper? So, I took car of that so we could get him to the rescue here in Auburn.
Now we just have to arrange transportation. I thought I had someone to pick him up this weekend, but that didn't pan out, and I will be out of town this weekend, so I will have to pick him up next Tues. when I get back. I will try to bring my digital camera and get some snap shots of him to post here and of course we will stay in touch and give everyone up dates as we search for Lenny's forever home. Maybe his adopted family will be interested in this group and stay in touch to let us know how he is doing. We'll see!
Thanks to all who have been keeping up with Lenny's situation and especially to all those who have volunteered to help him on his journey.
PAUL!!! This is fantastic, Give me a call or I'll call you in a bit. Sorry i didn't get on line yesterday. Dogs found a porky yesterday and I got to spend the day at the vet getting quills pulled out of their throats.... All's well now, so let's get Lenny on his way!!!!
So sorry to hear about your babies encounter and so weird too. I was just reading a "dog" book called Merle's Door and in the chapter I just finished, the same thing happened to Merle. Poor thing even had quills in his tongue - talk about ouch! I hope your babies heal quickly (and stay away from porcupines from now on).
Even more good news! I have a friend who has agreed to travel with me in his Jeep Cherokee this coming Tues. to go and get Lenny and bring him back to his new rescue. I called the vet clinic in GA and told them to get his records ready and to expect us late Tues. morning (it is about 125 miles one way plus a time change).
Well, this afternoon Jake and I went on our first therapy visit (see my write-up on the "Therapy Dogs" page). When we got back we found a message from Emma at the rescue asking when Lenny would get there because she thinks she has already found him a good home. I would hate to jinx it by talking about it too much, but fingers crossed.
I'm heading over to read about Jake's first visit and I'm not saying anything, but we have 10 sets of paws crossed here for Lenny!!! I can hardly wait to hear what you think of him on Tues.
Wow, so long in a cage and so close to freedom!! It's countdown time for Lenny and a rescue. I'm sure Michelle will be thrilled. I'll email her!
I will tell the boys about this! They were getting a little worried about Lenny stuck in a cage at a vet's office for so long.
When Thor had to have his left elbow (dysplatia) operated on and a tpo (triple pelvic osceotomy - to hopefully avoid dysplatia) on his left hip he had to stay overnight at the surgical center and he said it was no fun. But the nurse kept calling me to tell me how good and what a little flirt he was so I don't think it was quite as bad as he said. :) It was probably harder on me than him. Not to mention he was only about 7 months old at the time.
He still likes to use the ramp I built for him to get out to the backyard - when there's snow and ice on it so he can use it as a slide that is! The little stink bomb. lol
Thanks for the offer. We are leaving right now to go get Lenny and I am bringing my camera, so we will definately keep you guys posted. We are all very excited!
Oh I just loved the Jib Jab video that OzSee posted. So cute!
I can't understand why we are all getting so much spam. The latest has been topic titles that when you go there to read discussion it is some advertisement and has nothing to do with cats…
I was very disheartened to hear some of the negativity about this organization (not to mention all the back and forth garbage that doesn't have a thing to do with helping these animals).
I am a very proud supporter of Full Moon Farm, but also had t…
I hope that anyone reading this will consider helping Full Moon Farm in any capacity possible. I have been a volunteer for the farm off and on for about 5 years. The animals at FMF are well taken care of, treated with respect and offered high qualit…
