Hi all and happy Friday!!! I have a new free way to donate cat and dog food for shelters the website is: www.freekibble.com and the best part is a little girl approx. 10-12 years old set this up to help animals. I saw her on the Ellen Degeneris show yesterday and was so impressed with her I thought I would see if we can't get her some more food for the animals who need it. So please check it out. Thanks!!!!!

My pic features Rico, the sweet Chipin I rescued last August from a high-kill shelter. Since then, 2 more furkids have joined the family - Dexter, a Chipin recued from Indiana, and Shayna, shipped from a high-kill in NC to the rescue in Long Island I got her from. I belong to Delaware Action for Animals and do everything in my power to assist rescues, advocate for domestic and farm animals and eductae against vivisection.

Thanks to Saving Shelter Pets I have a beautiful new baby boy named Reese. He was part of SSP's wonderful Puppy Promise Program. Without this program chances are very high that Reese and his siblings would have lived their lives in a shelter (chances are also high they would have been euthanized in that shelter). Not only has SSP gotten Reese and his siblings up north to find a good home but are also spaying their Mom so this was one less dog that could add to this pet over population problem again. SSP had Reese vetted (age appropriate shots up til travel time). Once SSP sent Reese up north I saw him and knew my husband and I were going to get this lil guy. We already love him and I can tell he loves us too. Thanks SSP!!!! Robin

URGENT: Photos of Lost/Stray Dogs

If you've lost a pet and are searching for them, PLEASE check out the link provided below. TIME IS URGENT, ANIMALS ARE HELD FOR A VERY BRIEF TIME, USUALLY ONLY 3-4 DAYS!

I'm just a regular person taking pics of every animal in the Mesa MCACC as often as I can, usually at least once a week. I'm not an shelter or pound employee or a rescue volunteer. There are other wonderful animal lovers out there who are also doing this in the hopes we are able to reunite some dogs with their family...old or new.

These animals were all at the pound as of noon on Monday 03/31/08. Most of these animals are maked as "stray" or "stray not wearing license", some are marked for adoption. I do not have any other intake info on these dogs. If you think a dog even slightly resembles your lost pet, I highly encourage you to go directly to the Mesa MCACC to actually look at that animal in person (my photography and camera aren't the best). Don't think that because you live in the west Valley or North Phoenix that your pet won't be at the Mesa facility (and vice versa)....it happens many, many times over due to various circumstances. Please feel free to contact me if you want a pic of a specific animal emailed to you or just want to know about my interaction with it today. Most of these dogs are very, very scared but still proved to be very sweet and loving while I sat with them for a bit after taking their pic.

If these pictures assist you in finding your lost pet, please drop me an email to let me know so that I can remove their photo from the online photo websites.

Copy/Paste this web address into your browser to view the photos, if you aren't a Snapfish or PhotoBucket member (the photo websites), you can join for free by submitting your email and a password (it's all very simple):

What a great way to get the word out to either adopt from a shelter or contribute to help shelters in one way or another! Keep up the great work people!
