PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY THRU! I came across this on another site and had to post it.

2,000,000 cats and dogs are sadistically skinned alive every year in China for their fur and left to die slowly in shock and excrutiating pain.

"Because", say the Chinese: "its easier to skin a live warm animal that's convulsing in agony than a dead body".

Please go to this site. Theres a video on there, i couldnt finish watching it.

Sign the petition.
To: The Government of the Peoples Republic of China

Please urgently introduce legislation in China to:

1. Make it illegal to slaughter cats, dogs and other animals by skinning them alive for their fur
2. Protect all animals against mistreatment and cruelty of any nature
3. Ban the export from China of cat and dog fur and any products containing cat or dog fur
4. Ban cat and dog fur from being used wholly or partly in the manufacture of products in China
5. Introduce severe penalties to enforce the legislation

Here's Why the petition will make a difference:

China has emerged as one of the world’s most powerful economies but is still mistrusted and feared (as distinct from respected) because since emerging from behind the bamboo curtain, it’s government has done little to dispel its autocratic image and apparent disregard for human rights. Quite apart from human rights, decent people everywhere could never accept a society so depraved and bereft of common decency as to accept the skinning of live animals as acceptable behaviour.

It’s burgeoning economy has resulted from flooding the world with cheap consumer products produced by a cheap unregulated work force. A fact that is understandable, having regard to its enormous population and fantastic work ethic.
In turn, China has developed an insatiable appetite for raw product from other countries and governments keen to export to China are reluctant to criticise or offend the Chinese government.

Given this background, will your government impose economic sanctions against China or openly criticise the Chinese government or demand that it puts a stop to the Chinese cat and dog fur trade? Most unlikely. However, there will surely be individuals within governments, so incensed and horrified by the trade that they will support Our Cause.

The Chinese government is well aware of the economic power play behind the scenes. It also knows it has a long way to go earn acceptance from the free world.

And make no mistake, China absolutely craves acceptance as a world leader that is trusted and respected and there are emerging signs that it is prepared to adopt more acceptable and responsible policies to earn that acceptance.

It knows that if it behaves or permits behaviour that is abhorrent to people of the democratic world, it will not earn the trust or respect it craves. Its our duty to show China that it can take a single , but highly significant step towards overcoming the prejudice of the millions of free-thinking decent people, if it recognises animal rights and, in particular, abolishes the abhorrent trade in cat and dog fur.

Cat and dog pelts sell for about US$1 each and every year, 2,000,000 cats and dogs suffer a horrific death, skinned alive for the pelts.

For what?
1. An insignificant contribution towards the Chinese economy - a few million US$; and
2. A clear message to the world that so long as the Chinese government permits the trade, China is not fit to take its place as a leading nation and certainly not one that is entitled to any trust or respect.

The “adverse fallout” and abhorrence for the Chinese government resulting from the trade will far exceeds the paltry contribution it makes towards China’s economy. It is in China’s interest, to abolish the trade.

It’s our duty to tell the world about the trade and kick up such a stink that our message reverberates around the world.

Remember Tianamen Square.

Let’s make this another Tianamen Square – this time, for the animals.

Please sign the Online Petition. It’s the First Step in Our Fight!”

I signed the petition as well..........Is there anything that actually lives there!!!!

I don't want to be around when they start to pay for what they are doing...i want to see each and every one of them suffer for what they do to these poor animals

do you think i could start a petition like this one for them to stop eating cats and dogs and other animals as well?

Hey Tamara! That would be great but i don't think it will work...Eating dogs nd cats in China is like a tradition so I don't think is something we will be able 2 stop with a petition even if we all want it :(.

This is not something they have just started doing. It's just come into the public spotlight again with the Olympics being held there and people discovering the truth.

I've signed the petition. I did not watch the video - the pictures were bad enough.

Please be aware that they sell a goodly portion of this fur as "fake fur" as well as regular.

I haven't let myself dwell on this subject for some years now but I remember that they would attach electrodes to the animals testicles or into the anus and shock it before they started skinning. Apparently it made the pelt much more full and desirable.

When I first learned about this several years ago I had nightmares for a long time - my boys are of the favored breed they use.

I found this same site a couple months ago was so outraged and disgusted I wanted to fly to China and beat the hell out of every one of the disgusting monsters involved in this practice. I have sent emails to everyone I know, signed untold different petitions concerning this matter, emailed and ranted and raved to the founder of Animal Saviors. Sent money to help fiance their uncover trip to China next year. But none of that stops the horror of the skinning practices that continue daily. Even after the planned trip to China it will continue for Heaven knows how long until laws can be put into practice to stop the cruelty. But not just the skinning of animals for the fur trade goes on in China. China also allows restaurants to inhumanely kill dogs and cats for meat. Private citizens in China cruelly tie cats in their yards to be sold for fur or meat. It is a national problem in China, that they have no regard for animals. My God look at the cruelty of torturing those Tibet prisoners to death. Look how China and well known in Japan they bound baby girls feet for centuries to keep their feet tiny. It was cruel and painful and parent did it to thier babies with no quilt. It has only been recently that that practice has been outlawed. Why would anyone think a government that allowed that would think the torturing of innocent animals was wrong. China has a long way to go to become part of the modern world and change their views and cruel practices toward animals. We need to fight to stop this horrible cruel practice, there has be something that could be done sooner than years from now.

Well said, nothing to add. I am in absolute solidarity with your. People try to defend the Chinese, makes me crazy as it does you. As bad as some things are here in the US, they are worse in China. These people have no conscience. Keep up the good work, Julie Ann, you are my kind of person!

ok please let me set the record straight as to why they skin the animal alive................im a brit who has been all over china, ive watched the videos many videos and no exaclty what the chinese are saying, they are actually saying keep still keep still, they dont get paid to kill the animal, infact in the back of most chinese resturant, they dont kill any animal, they pull it from the cage take the leg off, if thats what you ordered, and leave the rest of the animal minus one leg until another order comes in, as you see in the many videos they do repeat the hiting of the animal, during the stripping so as to stop it from struggling as they dont want to get scratched, most of the animals dont get hit, they are stripped as soon as there dragged from the cage................its as simple as that, china is very different to the rest of the world, we bring our children up with dolls and plastic toys, you wont get a chinese child talk and cuddle a plastic toy, money talks. the blame lies with the west, america is the biggest importer of all overseas goods, the west will even get in debt so that there child has this particular toy at xmas, which gets played with and left in the toy box, im sure if most of the parents in the west, put on the calender, that on this certain date there will be a family event, give the child something to look forward to
we the rest of the world are to blame as we buy and put orders in for this rubbish, im sure we can all survive with out jonny and mary having plastic toys, and puff daddy what a joke, having a full length raccoon coat. ive mentioned this, because in china money is the most important, if we started wanting leaves off the trees or sand off the beach then china is an unstopable force and will collect from the trees and beach, you want a full length fur coat, i guarantee that animals coat was ripped off a live.
