Stopping Guillermo Vargas Habacuc

Guillermo Vargas Habacuc's idea of "art" is starving dogs and putting them on display for everyone to see. Someone has to stop this! Go to http://www.petitiononline.com/ea6gk/petition.html to sign the petition to stop this.

In 2007, the 'artist' Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, took
a dog from the street,
tied him to a rope in an art gallery, and starved
him to death.

For several days, the 'artist' and the visitors of
the exhibition have
watched emotionless the shameful 'masterpiece' based
on the dog's agony,
until eventually he died.

But this is not all... the prestigious Visual Arts
Biennial of the Central
American decided that the 'installation' was
actually art, so that
Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat
his cruel action for the
biennial of 2008.

PLEASE HELP STOP HIM!

Does this look like art to you?

Information from youtube.com
This is what the sick artist had to say and unfortunately we the people could not say anything to bash this guy or we would be banned, but the proves to how stupid this man is and what his thought process was about this dog. I don't believe he was trying to make people aware of suffering animals, his intentions are exactly what you see in the pictures. My God! he says the dog was sick anyway and would of died, why make him suffer in the process of making his transition? Why deprive him of food and water? This dog should of been taken care of during his last moments on this earth, not make him suffer before he dies.. how cruel can this artist be? It's like saying, this artist is old and will die anyway and he is probably sick, so lets make his last days like hell and starve him.

READ EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU COMMENT:
Here is a part of his original [most recent] statement:"Hello everyone. My name is Guillermo Habacuc Vargas. I am 50 years old and an artist. Recently, I have been critisized for my work titled "Eres lo que lees", which features a dog named Nativity. The purpose of the work was not to cause any type of infliction on the poor, innocent creature, but rather to illustrate a point. In my home city of San Jose, Costa Rica, tens of thousands of stray dogs starve and die of illness each year in the streets and no one pays them a second thought.

Now, if you publicly display one of these starving creatures, such as the case with Nativity, it creates a backlash that brings out a big of hypocrisy in all of us. Nativity was a very sick creature and would have died in the streets anyway.

THIS WAS DISGUSTING! I am forwarding the petition link to everyone I know! I wonder if I email my local news if they would show the link on the air or post the link on the news website. Has the ASPCA gotten involved in this?

Invited for 2008??? I don't believe that. Where is this? I don't believe that he was invited to repeat this cruel act, I believe that he petitioned for it by himself, this world of people is not that cruel and if he was invited again, this says something wrong about some of the people walking around here on this earth.

i saw this on the news and was in total shock!
i saw the poor dogs face and nearly cried!!!!!
this is so horrible
how could people watch this and not feel the need to do something?
HE needs to starve himself and display himself as what he calls art.

What can be done to stop this? I say an eye for an eye. He needs to go to jail or better yet let someone put him on a rope in the front of any building for everyone to look at and starve him so he can feel what this dog is going through. What about the people that are coming to see this (So called) art, what is going through theirs minds??? We live in a sick world.

How is that art? It's not! It's cruel and unusual punishment to the dogs.
If I saw that, I woudl go untie the dogs and feed them then take them to a vet to get help.
Then there is those two people just standing there looking at the dog and doing nothing?? What is wrong with them?
Seriously how do we stop this guy from doing another stupid "art show, " or in my opinion committing another crime against more dogs?

This is plain evil and this person has a serious mental disorder. If we could stop the murdering of euthanising hundreds of dogs in Asia why can we not stop this individual and legal indicate him to be a felon

This is one of the most worst cases of animal abuse i have seen. what a monster. maybe someone should tie him up and starve him... and call it art.

I've never seen anything like it, and I've lived in a variety of places that get ice storms. And no one was hurt, for which we are incredibly thankful.

This ice storm reminds me of the ice storm we had in New England back in the 70s and we were with out power for a week. Reminded me of the movie Day after Tomorrow. I hope no dogs were hurt during this storm.
