This looks like the group for me. I have a cat and a dog that were strays. My cat Baby was trapped in a brush pile when we purchased our property and our dog Rocky was a stray that got hit by a car before we adopted him.

Hello fellow pet lovers.... I have recently read you comments on strays and i do must say that your words inspire me.... i loved pet for long time and it's hard for me to turn them away... i will bring them home, feed them let them in when it's raining out and give them the T.L.C Treatment....(tender love and care) they need.

You are welcome Regina. After all that is what we are here for helping each other and showing compassion and understanding when it is needed. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am taking a bit of a work break as i have an exam asignment to write and hand in on Monday before noon deadline. If you need me I am here and always will be. Lisbeth and the lads.

Linda since you have dogs at your home let him bond with them to begin with let him do everything at his own pace never force an issue with him regarding people. Let him figure out that not all people are as scary as he thinks. Just let him approach them when he is ready. No pressure of any kind should be put on a dog like him since he could then become fear agressive. Take it one day at a time. Love compassion and patience is what he needs. Keep things low key. He will come around when he is ready to. Treats and kindness. best wishes and good luck with your new foster. When he is ready you could let him try soft agillity to boost his selfconfidence. I have some experience with a fearfull dog if you need support I will be here for you as always. Lisbeth and the lads.

He may have to get use to the people around him. He sounds like a terrific dog. Hope you can find him a loving home.

I have a new foster GSD. Balu is 5 months old, caught running in Mason City, IA., I am in Illinois. I am fostering for the Mississippi Valley German Shepherd Dog Rescue.

Balu is great with other dogs, loves to play, but he is very fearful of people. He can't be trusted around kids, and it takes him a while to warm up to anyone.

I don't have a picture of him yet, but he is a good looking boy. Anybody have any succuess with a dog like this?

All good ideas, thanks! I wondered myself why she didn't grab the one for $100, but who knows, maybe she has funeral expenses...?
