Be careful of the flea remedies you use, and don't regard "advice" you receive from "professionals" at large-scale stores as valid. Many popular flea control products can be harmful and deadly. Use a shampoo, not a spray or dip, they are safer. You can bathe your cat successfully, with a bit of practice (you can hold his front legs so that you can control him, and then rinse him... don't expect to "fill a tub" where you would be actually immersing your cat), and it is safer. You'll also need to thoroughly clean and treat the house... or the problem continues. There's lots of information out there on the issue of de-fleaing your pets and home.
