There have been a lot written in Newspapers about that they do so in China, but it is not only there.
There are a website from Hungary, where they are proud of telling that their down is plucked by hand from live geese.
Today there are a lot of alternatives. New materials which are as worm, or wormer, as down.

I am doing okay, I've been spending a most of my time
on multiply. Lately, I have not been online much
with preparing for the holidays. I have been a
little under the weather with it getting so cold.
I have thought about you and do hope that you are
doing well to.
Love and blessings from Mareesha
So you are busy again with holding down the farm, I know it is a lot of work for you. I can just imagine you out there enjoying the warm weather, this is your time of year.
I just wanted to let you know that I made it back from the mountains in one piece. A few extra scrapes and bruises, especially on my shins, but I love the challenge the mountains give me. My hip is not so pleased. Getting old wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for those physical problems. : )
Hope all is going well with you and your fur family.

I understand the work. I too seem to have so much to do outside. My inside work is in need. Many appointments too, me the dags, now hail damage on the DOGKAR ( my Ford Explorer).
My good friend from Florida is here this weekend for her niece's wedding. I am going to drive her around today to see and do some things. She doesn't get here often, this will be a treat for me. Tomorrow, back to work around the house.
I volunteered at the shelter yesterday. I was fortunate to see this cat with some orphaned pups. I hope you can open this newspaper article. http://www.qconline.com/archives/qco/display.php?id=446033.
I will keep in touch occasionally, jut to see how you are doing.
BIG ((HUGS)) to you and all the animals,
Linda
Are you and the furkids living in the dark yet? I just found out that I am Vitamin D deficient. I was floored, I having been taking supplements and eating right since the 70's, even my dogs get supplements. I need all the sunshine I can get now, get some of that D naturally.
Visited my nephew in St. Louis over the weekend. It was a good visit, but always have to catch up when I get back.
Really hope that all is well with you.

You are right, it did help that I could not get them all together, and I didn't try to either. I could not risk Sundown's mental state, and this made me work harder to get Luca a good home. He is close, I could see him again, and the lady promised to keep in touch. I do have to get him microchip tag to them after I pick it up at the shelter.
It is easier too, now that I have just 2 dogs again. I need to give Sundown's belly and thighs a bath every 2 days. Tomorrow I get my second opinion on his skin.
I will let you know what I find out.
Take care my good friend.
Luca has been the hardest to let go, but I know he has a great forever home now.

Luca went to his forever home. It is a bittersweet day.
