It's the law to spay/neuter in Los Angeles but so hard to enforce, you can report people and it's a $500 fine.

In California we are working for SB 250 a Bill to make it mandatory to spay/neuter your pets includng (out door) cats. It passed the first hurdle this week\. Anyone in Californa contact your state representatives to help pass this bill.
I think that is horrible that vets do not want to be involved. What else is so shocking is they sell food at their offices that are full of rendered animals. SICK.
MSN (Spay/neuter) laws do not work. They have been repealed in many countries and many states are finding out they are very difficult to enforce. Most all states are in deep budget crisis and can not afford to enforce the laws.

- Your welcome Valhalla - unfortunately, this world has become more devious because of the $$$$$ with no regard for the value of any form of life. Our domestic fur companions are in severe jeopardy of those who would minister abuse and neglect to those without a voice. We MUST be their voice and watchful eyes - the responsibility is on us.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for sending me updates about DNA people. It's really so good to have somebody out there that is tracking and keeping up on people that are using rescues for their own devious agenda.
KEEP IT UP and it's a great program to offer to us people that work hard to research potential adopters and look at all avenues to ensure safe, LIFELONG homes for the companions that are trusting us to ensure they have good lives.

- Hi! Kathie, sorry for the delay in getting back to you however, have had a family emergency ........the only idea that I have is either contacting the ASPCA who may be able to give you the proper authority to report abuse negelect to or have to look up the county or township where this pet store is located and report suspected abuse to the Police Department or Animal Control Office to investigate......I totally understand how sick you are as we battle every day with all of the so-called pet (stores) puppymill brokers in our local area that are kept very watchful eye on as they know they are being watched............the only other idea is if you definitely have proof of abuse then you can contact the local media to investigate..........

Antonette, any idea who I can have follow up on the abuse case at the pet store in Hopeville, TN I had originally been asking about? I have not heard from Renee and she was going to look into it. I fear most of the animals at that pet store are dead by now because it has been 2 weeks and they were in very poor condition when the person I know went in there. I did write about this to someone when I first joined this community, I don't remember who but found it by searching this site for whom to report abuse to. I didn't hear back from her either. Give me some ideas. I have been just sick over this.

- Naomi was just beautiful. I'm so sorry to hear of her passing. For a husky (or GSD) 14 years is a long time!!!!! You obviously took wonderful care of her! Her face just makes my heart melt. I can only hope Gigi lasts that long. She was found 8 years ago laying on the sidewalk in 115 degree heat, bleeding from just having puppies and with a chain in her neck that had to be removed with wire cutters. We never found her puppies but I'm sure it was some backyard breeder who chained her up. She was not adoptable once I got her healthy again because she hates men and most women, and does not like other animals. It is quite a trick to switch the animals around at my house 5 times a day but its worth it! On the abuse situation in Greeneville, Renee promised she would let me know as soon as something happens and she seems very on top of things so I am anxiously awaiting to hear. All your babies are adorable and like I said, sweet Naomi's picture melts my heart. :)

- That's great! Hopefully, Renee will be successful with her investigation....if so, she can also send it to the media local news stations and newspapers ....also forward them to the larger stations ABC, CBS, NBC, also send to Best Friends Network in Utah.........they are very supportive to the cause of assisting those where abuse has been found and can be an advisory towards justice for these poor little babies....I know I have three rescues from puppmills.........and two kitties..........we must be vigilant and keep our strength in numbers, continue to educate all those in the plight of abuse for our pet populace...........Paws crossed!!!!!!!!

- Hi Antonette- I got a reply yesterday from Renee who is looking in to it (literally, with camera) I believe in the next couple of days. THe conditions are horrible this pet store- it's bad enough when puppy mill puppies look presentable at the store and the conditions are horrible at the breeding grounds but when even the store animals have no water, food and are all lethargic, it's unbelievable. Thanks for asking me about it. :) Love your pics!
