Not to add worry, but I just heard from one of our feral trappers that they had trapped a feral that had a prolapsed intestines, it was protruding from the rectum. They got him to the vet, but it had already gone gangrene, it had gone on too long. T…
I just noticed that my kitty Gigio has a very inflammed rectum, I checked it and it also has some pink drainage with a faul smell, there are also some cuts with some blood coming from it. I applied a little preparation-H and put a cone around his he…
I am so so sorry to hear this, and i wish i had the perfect words to say but i don't, all I know is that Rowdy was very lucky and blessed to have had a family and where ever he is i know he is at peace and he will always be with you, again i am so s…
Two boy cats, Gigio and the newest member of my family Mufasa
How we met:
Gigio:I feel in love with him when i saw what a big bully he was (LOL), he was just a kitty and he made me laugh when i saw that he was using his little body to push his brothers out of his way at a anti-cruelty shelter.
Mufasa: This liltte angel was found crying under my stairs in
horrible conditions, he was malnourished, hypothermic, and dehydrated. He was desperatelly trying to shelter himself from the horrible Chicago cold, now he is doing better and he has done a hell of a job winning my heart.
Pablito: belongs to my brother but has been living with us for the past 4 months and we are loving it.
Pet likes:
Gigio:Loves Snack time, sleeping with my mom, playing with my earrings, knocking stuff off the counters, to be rocked when he is sleepy.
Mufasa: loves it when he is being petted, cuddled and kissed and definatelly he loves to eat, he loves attention he loved to be rocked, I remember when i first got him he hated to be picked up but now i could swear he ever puts his arms up so that who ever is in front of him will pick him up like a baby.
Pablito: LOVES to explore, this is how he gets in trouble, he loves to climb and sit by the window.
Pet dislikes:
Gigio:not seeing my mom he is very attached to her and cries when she is not visible, he also HATES when we close any door on him, doors must be left open so that he may enter any room he wants to, and he hates a dirty litter box once he uses it, it must be cleaned ASAP or he will refuse to use it. He hates the vet.
Mufasa: Being cleaned up, specially cutting he's nails sometimes if i get him in a good mood he will cooperate but that is very rare.
Pablito: to be over cuddled, one kiss and that is it...NO MORE!
Pet’s favorite spot:
Gigio:anywhere near my mom or when the heater starts blowing the warm air he will rush to lay next to it, it keeps him warm.
Mufasa: under my computer desk.
Pablito: his little window platform installed in the window with pillows and a view of the back yard.
Pet’s favorite toy:
Gigio: He loves this kitty stuffed toy that an ex-boyfriend gave to me on valentines day, as soon as Gigio saw it he claimed it as his and he sleeps with it and plays with it, that little stuffed toy is everywhere.
Mufasa: he really does not have a favorite toy yet.
Pablito: his kitty gym and his mouse tent.
Pet’s silliest habit:
Gigio: he has so many! but i guess the silliest is when we are eating he sits at the table with us, he has his own chair at the table and it's right next to my mom (of course)
Mufasa: He does this little thing with he's face in wich he rubs it all over the place he looks sooooo cute. He also hits me with his head to wake me up when he is hungry, he seriously will not stop until i get up to feed him.
Pablito:he gets into any bag he sees open, does not matter what type of bag, my luggage, my gym bag, a paper shopping bag.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
Gigio:When we go to the vet and he knows who his mommy is. he will let them perform all exams with out problem but as soon as he sees me he will struggle his way to my arms and gives me those little eyes, he has this little habit of hidding his face with his paw.
Mufasa: When i call him and he actually comes and sits there waiting to be petted and cuddled, if i don't do it he beguins doing this cute purr, he sure has me wrapped around his little paw.
Pablito: Of course when he cuddles, usually if i'm laying on the couch watching TV, he crawls on top of my stomach and cuddles for hours, I love it.
I crack up when my pet:
Gigio:exersices with my mom, and dad. it is hillarious how he runs around our basemant behind my mom.
Mufasa: when i try to take a picture he will come super close to the camara (lol) this prevents me from taking a good shot of him but he looks so cute doing it.
Pablito: he is the adverturous therefore gets into funny situations giving me too many things to crack up about, he is just a hyper lilttle comedian.
My pet is unique because:
Gigi:He actually came back from the dead. It's a long story but I am glad that he is not dead and that he is still with me. he is just a living proof that cats have 9 lives.
Mufasa: Just like my Gigio, Mufasa came back for a 2nd chance, i really thought when i found him that he would not make it, he was not eating or moving around, I thought i would just give him humane treatment so that he may die in peace but thank the Lord he is hanging in there and I pray to God that he gets fully recovered because I love him.
Pablito: Just like my other 2, Pablito came to me in a desparate situation in wich if I did not take him in he would have ended up in a shelter. Plus he has crooked back legs with makes him unique and if he was in a crowd of 1000 kitties I would definatelly be able to tell him appart just by the way he walks with crooked back legs
I'm not sure if it's a ning thing or not. I can see them ok. Maybe try again at a later time?
Poor Mufasa. No wonder he is eating more. I wonder how long this thing was growing in his mouth? Cats are so notorious about hiding their problems until it's almost too late. Sounds like what Mufasa did. So glad you recognized his symptoms.
Ha Ha, about Gigio. What a great recovery. He is just enjoying the company and feeling better. Don't we all know what that's like. At least he's keeping Mufaso moving.
I'm glad to hear you are walking better and starting a new job. I've heard your same story from others in the heathcare industry. They treat you like Sh_t and when you leave, oh, you are so missed. They just don't appreciate it when they have reliable people working for them.
You sound in better spirits. Glad to hear that.
Tracy.
You know, I kinda figured that Mufasa and Gigio would probably benefit from the change in diet. The older Mufasa, not knowing what he's been eating or exposed to in his early life, was most likely not the best. They are susceptable to kidney problems when older. Glad you caught it early. You have added so much time to his life. Gigio is so very lucky to have you as a cat mom.
I can't believe your summer!!!! I'll bet you are in terrible pain. Torn tendons and a ruptured ligament. Very serious injuries. You will never play soccer again, that's for sure. But there are other sports that you will be able to participate in without risking additional injury to that foot and leg. Did you apply for FMLA at work? If you are not aware of FMLA, it's a type of medical leave that secures your job. Or are you on ordinary disability? I'm surprised that you have to wait so long to see if you need surgery. Injuries like that just don't heal by themselves, do they? I'm real sorry to hear about this. Can your parents help out with the special food for Gigio and Mufasa? One thing I'll bet on is that they are glad to have you home for a while. I know mine are just estatic when they realize we are sleeping in and not getting up for work.
Ben is doing ok. He had two TIA's about a month or so ago, scared me badly. I thought he was having a full-blown stroke. I dragged his butt to the cardiologist and insisted on Plavix. Then we went through MRI's, Ultrasounds, and other tests to confirm my suspicions of the mini-strokes. Yup, I was right. Since he's been on the Plavix, no more heart pain, no more severe headaches, and he's doing better. There was weird memory recall problems, like word association. For instance, he sometimes substitutes one word for another. Like, Alfredo Sauce (cheesy sauce for pasta), he called it Guiseppe Sauce. He did not even know he was doing it. He was really lucky we caught it early. Now the only thing he's complaining about is his arthritis. THAT I can deal with. And life goes on. Since you are stuck home, I'll send you a private message. I'll give you my phone number if you just want to talk and kill some time during the day. TV can get really boring after a while.
I am hoping and praying for a good outcome for you.
Your Friend,
Tracy.
Just stopping by to say hi and wondering how your two little mischief makers are doing? Hope Gigio is doing better.
Guess you can wear those sandals now. ha ha. Not much going one with me. My three are doing great. I had to slowly change their diet to EVO about 2 months ago. Turns out my shelter cat is allergic to grains. When we brought him home, his coat was thin, dry, brittle, and he had chronic diarhea. All tests came back negative for parasites or infection, so after a little investigative work I thought maybe it was the food. Sure enough. His coat has blossomed. His stools are normal. He doesn't even look like the same cat! I call him my grumpy love bug because he comments on everything.

What on earth are you doing up at 3:40 am? Don't you ever sleep? Ha ha, I remember those days when I was your age. Hope you have a great holiday weekend as well. We finally got the pond up and running. Looks so nice and really completes the backyard. Will post new pictures soon. Now that the pond is pretty much done, I can get to pulling some weeds!!!!
