When I lost my eldest son Slater (a 15 yr old Chow mix) on 09/04/08 I joined this group just having the need to express my feelings of despair and sadness. Sadly, I am back as heartbreak has struck me again, my youngest son Dylan, passed away on 04/…
Recently (09/04/08) departed Slater who was a Chow/Shepherd mix and his brother Dylan, a Great Dane/Rott mix, who is still with me. Slater was 15yrs old and Dylan is just over 12yrs old. It is with a heavy and broken heart that I update this page. My little boy Dylan just passed away on 04/24/09, he would have been 13 in July. My heart aches and I am trying to hold on to the fact that they are now together and that someday our family will be whole again.
How we met:

My pet is unique because:
They are "my" sons.

What wonderful love your boys received from you. I am sorry for the pain you feel. I lost mine in Feb. He was almost 12. His love Rose, is 9 and she seems healthy, but I still worry. I know it will be sad when her day comes. We can only love them and watch over them and know that we gave them the best of everything. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Leslie
I am so sorry for your double loss. I know how painful it can be and only another dog lover can understand because to us they are not "dogs", they are our babies. I sometimes forget that my boys are not human. My eldest is Herman (the one on the left) and he will be 10 in August and I don't want to even think of the day I loose him. He is my heart. Know that you are not alone and that you, Slater, and Dylan are in my prayers. Goodnight and I hope the pain lessens with time and you find love again.
Good mornning:
You are so right about Diva mourning. She seems a little lost yesterday I took her to the beach and III went through separation axiety. I was worried a wave would take her away from me.... Oh boy what a process this is...... However I contacted the local ASPCA to see if I can join and train as a rescuer or something. I blame this spiritual awakenning on SASHA jaja....Bless her, I guess she is not done with me yet........... I'm taking Diva to the beach today again I think its therapeutic for both of us.....One day at a time. I hope today is positive for you please keep in touch.
Best Regards
Susie
