- Proud pet parent of:
- A 15 month old female pit bull named Juicie & a 7 month old female pit bull named Ava.
- How we met:
- Juicie:I went to a local shelter one day last year and found my baby. I was so sad when I was there because their were over 30 pit bulls with no home. I saw my dog frightened and shaking in the corner of her cage. She was only 3 months old. I got her the very next day. Today she is totally healthy and doing great. I love her more than anything in the world!!
Ava:I always knew I wanted a friend for my dog Juicie. Alot of different people however wouldn't let me adopt another pit bull because they thought it was a bad idea. But they didn't know how amazing my dog Juicie was to begin with. Finally, I found a shelter who had an amazing 3 month old pit bull girl who was living in foster care. Me and my dog went to the shelter to meet her and it was love at first site. I took her home the very same day. Now both of my dogs are best friends.
- Pet likes:
- Juicie: She likes to go with me everywhere. Especially the beach in the summer time. She loves to be the center of attention. She enjoys sleeping in my bed with me every night under all the covers!!! She also could not live with out her peanut butter!!
Ava: Loves to be near me or Juicie at all times. She loves to steel toys away from my other dogs. She loves when you bend down and she puts her front paws on your shoulder and you rub her belly.
- Pet dislikes:
- Juicie:She loves everyone and everything. However she does not like any kind of violence. I first noticed this when I was having a pillow fight with my boyfriend when she was about 8 months old. She is so cute
Ava:She is soo fiesty. She gets mad if my dog Juicie has a bone and she will but her face on the ground and put her butt in the air and make this odd bark....until Juicie gives up the bone!!!
- Pet’s favorite spot:
- Juicie:My bed or her bed....anything cozy
Ava:Under the covers on the bed or in the corner of the couch, which a throw blanket on top of her!!!
- Pet’s favorite toy:
- Juicie:her kong ball
Ava:she likes taking sticks from outside and attemping to bringing them inside
- Pet’s silliest habit:
- Juicie:Every morning when we wake up she goes into her bed in the living room and starts rolling around and grunting. It is the funniest thing ever. Also, when she gets really excited if she knows we are going "bye bye" or to the "parky" she starts running from room to room back and forth, and if we are outside she will dig a hole and run around because she is so excited.
Ava:She puts her front paws and face on the floor and her butt in the air and starts wagging her tail.
- Pet’s sweetest moments:
- Juicie:She ever she gives my hugs or kisses. Also when she goes to sleep she often will let out a big breath of air and make a grunting sound.
Ava:When she sits at the bath tub waiting for me to get out of the shower
- I crack up when my pet:
- Juicie:Plays with my sisters dash hound. They will both grab onto the same toy and my dog will drag the dash hound around the house with the toy. But the dash hound will still hold on and enjoys it
Ava:When she runs around in the back yard with a huge stick in her mouth.
- My pet is unique because:
- Juicie:She came from a bad start in life but she couldn't be happier with me. She is my very best friend. She is always happy and always making someone smile. She is the sweetest dog and has a silly was about her. She is like my child.
Ava:She is unique because she is more like a yorkie then a pit bull...she has not one mean bone in her little body
10 COMMANDMENTS FOR DOGS
1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Regular separation from you will be painful and can even cause depression. Think before you buy me.
2. Give me time to understand what you want from me don't be impatient, short-tempered or irritable.
3. Place your trust in me and I will always trust you back, respect is earned not given as some sort of inalienable right.
4. Don't be angry with me for long, and don't lock me up as punishment. I am not capable of understanding why I am being locked up. I only know I have been rejected. You have your work, entertainment and friends. I only have you.
5. Talk to me sometimes. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your tone. "You only have to look at my tail" to know that.
6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget, if that treatment is unjust or bad, it may spoil the special bond between us.
7. Please do not hit me. I cannot hit back, but I can bite and scratch and I don't ever want to feel the need to do that.
8. Before you tell me off me for being uncooperative, obstinate, or lazy, ask yourself if something might be wrong with me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food or I've been out in the sun too long, maybe my heart is getting old and weak, or maybe I'm just dog-tired.
9. Take care of me when I get old. You too will grow old and will also want care, love, and affection.
10. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say, "I can't bear to watch" or "Let it happen in my absence".
Everything is easier for me if you are there. Remember, Irrespective of what you do I will always love you.

- What a beautiful dog. Thankyou for rescuing her. I too have a womnderful American pitbull named RZA boo and he is my baby. He saved me from drowning and he is a the biggest baby ever and very gentle and he loves me unconditionally.

Keisha said… - Hi i think your pit has one of the sweetest faces ive seen in a pit (Honestly) To be honest i never cared for pit bulls because of the stories ive heard..But then those pits are the ones who were being neglected...I love pits now!!! i am an animal cop watcher and it is amazing how pits survive through such abuse..It literally puts tears to my eyes and it has also opened up my eyes to know that with love, affection and gentleness Pits can be wonderful pets..I commend you for giving Juicie a chance...I have two jack russells and they are a handfull of energy..I live in an apartment so i can only have little dogs but if i ever bought a house then i would highly consider adopting a pitbull from the ASPCA!! Hardened police officers have been shocked by the horrifying torture, mutilation and brutal slaying of a seven month old fox terrier puppy near Mackay at the weekend.
If found guilty, they could face up to two years in prison. Police have obtained video footage from a mobile phone which shows graphic images of the puppy yelping and howling in terrible pain as it hacked to pieces with garden shears and a pocked knife.
They said the owners were too distressed to talk to anyone about it.
The pups nose was cut off, its front right leg and rear left leg were cut off and it was decapitated. A three-part video series on a mobile phone shows the dog being tortured.
The maximum penalty under the Animal Care and Protection Act for such an offence is $75,000 or two years in jail; however the maximum penalty ever handed out has been a four month jail term.
WE BELIEVE THESE MEN SHOULD RECIEVE THE MAXIMUN PENALTY AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA FOR THIS SADISTIC, DISGUSTING ACT.
