I'm not entirely sure why she threw up. She didn't have bad food today, at home or at the sitter's house...and she isn't running a fever. No cough or sneezing or any of that either...she just leaned over me, and tossed her supper. (while I was get...
Belles, do you recommend any one in particular? Also, new problem with Zeus...one of my dauthers threw up on me tonight, and the couch, and he cleaned it all up! (GROSS!!!!) Should I be worried? It's been so long since I've raised dogs, I'm not ev...
That's a good idea! I hadn't even thought of that! The cats would all like something like that, as the puppies tend to still play pretty rough, AND I could put their food up without ruining my dressers...Do have any to recommend?
Barbara, lol...it's not really an issue except that my cats are used to having dry food out all the time, and I'm going through it too quickly, because the puppies keep getting into it. I keep the cat food in my bedroom, with a gate up, but both p...
candice:
Do you have a bathroom with a door that closes? If you do, you can separate the dogs from the cats while they eat.
Another way would be to put one set in a travel cage during feeding times.
Unfortunately, they have outgrown the kennel, and the apartment is just too small for a bigger one. I tell Zeus "BED" and he usually goes and lays down either on his blanket, or behind the recliner. Sissy doesn't beg from the children, and she ten...
I don't intentionally leave the cat food out. The only "perches" I have to put the cat food are antique dressers, and the cats do not get up there, often. The puppies have both learned how to jump the baby gate I have in my bedroom door, hence the...
Depending on the size of your dogs. My chihuahua was eating the cat food and the vet told me that the cat food did not have the vitamins she needed and suggested putting the cat food out of her reach. My husband took an old coffee table and made i...
i usually keep the cat food in my bedroom, with a baby gate, but one of the dogs can jump it, and the other is close. I don't really have anywhere else in my apartment, unfortunately.
Belles, we don't actually eat at the table together, since I ha...
We had to make a spot up on a counter top away from the actual food prep area for our cats food and water. My two mutants would do the same as soon as I tried to feed the cats. They would eat all of their food. That would be my only suggestion at ...
My husband and I have two puppies, and three cats. The problem is that we leave food out for the cats, and the puppies tend to try eating it all before they eat their own food. I feed the dogs twice a day, morning and evening, but no matter how mu...
My aunt and uncle breed Malteses, and they had a mastiff for years aroud these sweet little angels. (sadly, Malachi had to be put down, brain tumor.) There was never a problem, other than the little dogs trying to "threaten" Malachi with their big...
The gate would keep the dog out of the room, but the kids and cats all know how to climb over it! I know what you mean about being lucky with a new kitten. They were both introduced to each and Ceaser with very fast results. The puppies both like ...
I think you were lucky with Ceasar, its always safer to be more careful, evaluate the situations and gradually add freedom. Then I kind of go opposite to that bringing in a new kitty, have read best thing is to isolate the new kitty and do gradual...
Ceaser, a beautiful himalayan; Dory and Nemo, a grey and white, and calico; dogs: Zeus, a black schnauzer-rot mix; Sissy, a mutt...no clue!
How we met:
I adopted Ceaser from the local animal shelter. Dory was given to my husband by a friend, as was Zeus. My husband found Sissy out in the country, and I found Nemo at the local Walmart.
Pet likes:
They all LOVE attention. Ceaser likes to sleep on my pillow, Dory likes to sleep under the covers...Nemo enjoys laying in our laps while we watch tv. Zeus and Sissy like to play with each other.
Pet dislikes:
None of them like when our children lay down on them and use them as "pillows", although, Ceaser tolerates it fairly well.
