We battled this dilema for the last 9 years with a neighbor who moved in next door. They had a little Poodle mix who was chained outside 24/7 every day of the year! He had a dog house with a bed spread in it and they would leave the garage door (fro…
I am shutting off messaging from this site for the time being. I am tired of the emails with the "Tiger Woods crap" that has NOTHING to do with animals.

Nomo, Mariah, Nikita, Long Day, Rhiannon (all deceased), Red Sky, Wild Bill, Merlin's Magic Kane, Bertie, Dust In the Wind, Rising Sun, Spanky's Rascal, My Little Demon, Take It to the Limit-Max & Cleo's Silver Spring
How we met:
Long Day was a wolf-hybrid pup that we "paid to rescue" to replace our Sibe who had been poisoned in our fenced in yard. Nikita was an Alaskan Malamute pup we got to play with Long Day. Nomo was a Siberian Husky that I saw in a pet shop and had to buy and rescue from the place. Mariah is Nomo's daughter from a fellow breeder's female. Rising Sun was bought to be Mariah's boyfriend. Spanky's Rascal is Rising Sun's son from a fellow breeder's female. Rhiannon was a "paid rescue" from a stud dog's owner who lived in a trailer court and took her as stud pay and chained outside until almost being evicted. Red Sky & Wild Bill are twin brothers that didn't take well to being seperated to be sold so I bought both boys. Bertie and Dust In the Wind are Red Sky & Rhiannon's pups that I kept. Merlin's Magic Kane was the stud dog for Bertie's litters that I ended up purchasing when his owner decided they NO longer wanted him. My Little Demon and Cleo's Silver Springs are Kane & Bertie's daughters. Take It To the Limit-Max is the "abused" pup (found to be deathly afraid of men when bought) that I purchased from a breeder at 11 mos old to be a playmate for Demon and Cleo.

That's kind of what I thought.. just some fine tuning, adjustment, confidence. It took Axel two months to really settle in.. and still sometimes, he reverts back once in awhile. Nothing too serious though.
I just thought with this breed, she would be better off posting in the Northern Breeds. That would be a small world if there was a connection, huh?
Sounds like the husband and wife aren't even on the same page. This poor dog is caught in the middle. Doesn't even sound like the husband wants to relinquish the dog.. but if the wife doesn't want him around.. then it's a mess.
Keep me posted as to the outcome. I'll be thinking of you. My best to your hubby for speedy health and recovery too.
Why were they calling other breeders.. to get another dog? Or to get them to take their dog?
Let me guess, this Sibe has had no boundaries and he was adopted by people that don't understand the breed. Probably of all the dog breeds, they are most unique in their behavior and training.. it takes a special person to own a Siberian. Not everyone deserves the priviledge. I had a neighbor woman across the street from me several years ago. Had a gorgeous Sibe and she was an emergency room RN, had two young kids. Her Sibe became bored and destructive.. tore up her backyard and pulled the carpeting all the way down her staircase.. not only that, but he smashed doors, ripped doors off hinges, etc. She was convinced he was "psycho" and I was convinced she was. I said to her.. "Your dog is alone during your nursing shifts for 12 hours, you're sentencing this dog to a day of hell." She just didn't get it. They finally found another home for him after he accidentally knocked her small daughter down the stairs. For a well-educated woman.. she was completely clueless.
Grrr... what can you do. Breeders need to be aware of who they sell to. In this boys' case, the DA is telling me they are trying to file charges against the breeder for knowingly selling this dog into this home. Apparently the owner has had some prior history of abuse.. and the breeder knew this. Unreal... no?
I vote for hell too.. that's a good place. I am determined to see this through to sentencing. We bought him a Nyla bone tucked into a rubber Kong type ball.. but I will definitely look for the plush puzzles. I didn't want to get him something sharp.. so that would be ideal. We're going back on Wednesday, unless I can sneak away this afternoon. I don't want to make a pest out of myself at the vet hospital, but I can't hardly be away from him.
Time to take my girls out for a walk before the heat comes today. Supposed to be 103! LOL
Thank you.. from you that is a genuine compliment, much appreciated. I'm swinging by PetSmart today to buy him a puzzle ball so he has something to occupy himself in his hospital cage. I'll be visiting with him this afternoon.

Well listen I hate to cut this short. But have to get back to work. Here is my e mail address if you would like to e mail me danbenn41@onebox.com. Hi Tara! I'm doing the same with limiting the carrots and apples - in fact I've totally cut them out for the moment as my rabbit is on a diet. It's not doing much good as she's still a bit podgy! Ha ha! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who gets…
Hi Bams481!!! I've just seen your photos - that one of Dutchess outside is too sweet for words!! That little coat is very sweet indeed!! My rabbit would raise hell if I tried to put a lead on her (I have tried but Apricot is the equivalent of a memb…
