- Proud pet parent of:
- I am dedicating this website to my Beloved Sasha of 15 years who I lost to cancer four years ago. She was the light of my life. That girl was with me through some of the hardest parts of my life and I don't believe I could have made it without her companionship, loyalty, devotion, and love. I think of her every day and dedicate everytime I made a donation to the ASPCA, or everytime I donate my time to a fund raiser for a local cat shelter I do it in her name.
I am currently the proud parent of four Lhasa Apsos, a male Bandit, a female Brandi, their two daughters Sasha's Angel who I named after the Sasha I lost and Nikki Sasha's Angel's big sister and two Persian cats Maddie and Sunny.
- How we met:
- I have a soft spot in my heart for flat faces, bug eyes, long hair and underbites.
- Pet likes:
- chicken strips and cookies.
- Pet dislikes:
- Their own food.
- Pet’s favorite spot:
- Our bed.
- Pet’s favorite toy:
- anything that is fuzzy and that squeaks (dogs). The cats like catnip.
- Pet’s silliest habit:
- They run like crazy after they have received a bath.
- Pet’s sweetest moments:
- When they first wake up.
- I crack up when my pet:
- When I whisper to them them about their treats. They think they are hearing voices.
- My pet is unique because:
- They are my babies and I love them unconditionally.

Lhasa Apso History.
I always knew these dogs were wonderful but, I recently watched a special on the Dalai Lama last night and learned that the only way to get one of these dogs was through him. I knew he was a holy man but I never knew what a great man he was. I have had a yearning of wanting to know more about him ever since I watched that special and now that I know he is going to be in Seattle next week I would love to go see him. - I agree. This breed is in my blood and when my Sasha died she took a piece of me with her. I have a little shrine dedicated to her in my bedroom right beside my bed. I burn a candle every year all day in honor of her in memory of her as if I don't remember her every day anyway :-) As you can see I have a "tribe". It was so hard to find good homes for the puppies. Fortuantely for me all of my puppies found great homes and also lucky for me the homes they went to were personal friends of mine for the most part with the exception of 1 lady. I keep in touch with them and still get pictures of how their lives are. I wish all animals had lives as good as these "kids."

Puttin' On The Dog said… - Lilly is a 3 1/2 year old Shih Tzu. She is totally deaf and my vet thinks she's been that way since birth. We rescued her in June 2008 and she is feeling secure in our home. Our other baby, Miss Gizmo, is a Shih Tzu! At least, that's what I was told when I got her. But, I swear she's got some Lhasa in her. We just love our babies as you do yours....they make you smile just thinking about them!

- Hi Dianna, it's been a little while since I've been here. You recently commented about tying Barclay's hair back out of his eyes. Do they pull them out? I know how everyone feels about their pets. When I lost my lab/chow I thought I would die. Then later Barclay came into my life like a miracle. He needs so much attention and rewards me with sweet soft hugs (oh yes and those wet kisses). He does run like crazy after a bath I love the songs, is there a way to go get the exact same songs without hunting them down?
It would be sweet music for us to take our naps to. Barclay won't be a year old until mid April but he is so instinctive. I refuse to believe they don't have souls. God may not have made them in his image but he did create all living creatures to be looked after by man. I can't help but believe that was translated wrong in the King James version. I think we all agree that even though we tend to their needs, they give us so much more and increase the quality of our lives. I have new pics I'll post soon on my page.

- I was more than HAPPY to sign the petition. It is impossible for me to believe that anyone could hurt an innocent animal. Yes, Chloe is not only my first Lhaso, she is also my first dog ever.
