I've been thinking of adding a dog to my life, in addition to my house rabbits, and I saw your cost estimate on Petfinder:

I think it's a great & informative chart, but I had to point out that rabbit litter doesn't cost nearly that much if you use wood stove pellets. They're just as good as recycled newsprint litter, but you can get 40 lb bags of it for about $5 each. In a whole year, I've used about 10 bags (2 big litterboxes for 8 lb bunnies, changing every 3-4 days). Much less than $400!
