Good job creating this group. Just thought I'd let everyone know that my family runs a very small rescue in Connecticut. So far, we've only taken dogs from shelters that are going to be euthanized. If you know of any high-kill shelters in Connecticu…

Proud pet parent of:
3 dogs. 2 cats. 2 birds. 1 chinchilla.
How we met:
The 3 dogs are all from pounds. 1 of the cats, Briana, is also from a pound. Our other cat, Tom-Tom, was constantly outside our house. He was very skinny so we started feeding him. After a while we knew that he was homeless, so once he was tame enough, we brought him inside and he's been our cat ever since.
Pet’s silliest habit:
Shredding paper, trying to eat legos, chasing her own tail.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
When my dogs rest their heads on each others backs while sleeping. When my cats lick each others faces.

I like your ID photo: glad you are not falling for the advertising of Iams, one of the most deceptively marketed food lines available. Good site for you is Feeding Your Cat @ www.catinfo.org; also, What's Really in Pet Food @ http://www.api4animals.org/facts.php?p=359&more=1.

Hi Drew, where can I get a sticker like that, I don't mine advertising it at all. I used to fed my cats IAMs especially after I adopted Michael, but they started to gain a lot of weight and I was concerned because of heart attacks and dibeties so I stop it and now they are not so heavy. I will write them a letter also and tell them what I think!

I have see the videos from Iams & I was sickend to my stomage! How they pertray their company to be so caring for our dogs & cats yet they are sooo cruel to their laboratory animals. I'm w/ a group that is being active so they can't do this to any more animals & hopully release the one's they have! In sm. crates, confined w/ lil. or no interaction, feedng them to the point were they can't stand up on their legs! It's tought to watch! Thanx for gettng the word out there so poeple stop fundng them & buying their food!

Dear Drew, one of my nine dogs is named Calvin and I rescued him from Save-A-Pet in Port Jefferson, NY by which they saved him when he was "retired" from the Iams Food Company in Ohio where he was a test feeder dog his whole life of seven years. Calvin didnt know very much about being a dog and still does do a lot of right hand circles when he is confused about something, but he has come a long way now in the year we have had him. My favoritest day with Calvin was the day he learned what his legs were capable of and he ran around my backyard for 10 minutes with his ears pinned back and legs stretched out like a grey hound as I yelled "Run Calvin, Run!" like in Forest Gump. I cry thinking about it. He is doing great now. I have horses in the backyard and we are outside alot. Calvin follows me everywhere and I call him "My trusty dog Calvin." I know he is so glad to now have something to do everyday and look forward to (he starts whining to get me up at 7 AM every AM to feed the horses) and it is much better than wasting away in a cage. Just thought I would share that with you since I saw your IAMS sticker. And I dont feed any of my dogs Iams, but mostly because their ingredients are crap. Take care!
