I am not active in this community any longer and do not post to discussions, but noticed your cat--- he is very handsome. Good site for you is www.catinfo.org (feeding your cat), also, What's Really in Pet Food @ http://www.api4animals.org/facts.php?p=359&more=1

Thanks Dustie.

Sorry to hear about Phantom's missing claws, but I'm glad you've given him a good home. Happy New Year!

Hi, I signed the petition "maximum penalty for the men who hacked up a puppy." I'm asking you to sign this petition to help us reach our goal of 100,000 signatures. I care deeply about this cause, and I hope you will support our efforts. Here are the basics of the case:

Hardened police officers have been shocked by the horrifying torture, mutilation and brutal slaying of a seven month old fox terrier puppy near Mackay at the weekend.

If found guilty, they could face up to two years in prison. Police have obtained video footage from a mobile phone which shows graphic images of the puppy yelping and howling in terrible pain as it hacked to pieces with garden shears and a pocked knife.

They said the owners were too distressed to talk to anyone about it.

The pups nose was cut off, its front right leg and rear left leg were cut off and it was decapitated. A three-part video series on a mobile phone shows the dog being tortured.

The maximum penalty under the Animal Care and Protection Act for such an offence is $75,000 or two years in jail; however the maximum penalty ever handed out has been a four month jail term.

WE BELIEVE THESE MEN SHOULD RECIEVE THE MAXIMUN PENALTY AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA FOR THIS SADISTIC, DISGUSTING ACT.

Yow!

Hi persons! I haven't been on in so long... The stress is great here. My husband might be deploying on Saturday, and he isn't ready, and I don't think I'm quite ready for him to go yet. I knew he was going to have to, but I was hoping his unit would work with him because of his shoulder being messed up (can't lift more than 20 lbs), and he wants to be here for when the baby is born. But so far they have fought him at every turn. He's not packed yet, he's still got stuff that needs to be done, it… Continue

Fat cat diet for Phantom

I've decided to put my slightly overweight cat on a diet. I figure to start, instead of having food down all day, he'll get fed three to four times a day until I can decide whether it's his food or the frequency he eats that is making him gain weight. He gets exercised more frequently now, and he plays on his own more too, but I really think it's his diet that is the issue. He isn't grossly obese, he's only 16 lbs (I've seen much heavier, fatter cats), it's just that I want him to live longer, a… Continue

So I was reading the forum...

And I found a post about declawing. And it made me think. If people so wanted to press their opinion about something, they totally go about it the wrong way. Instead of being mean, and pushy, just state your opinion and the reason you have that opinion. For example, I think declawing cats is wrong, just because it gives them nothing. It takes a part of their toes away, and leaves them probably feeling terribly useless. I look at Phantom when he swats bugs and things and I feel bad. If I had a ch… Continue

Hi.

Hi. I'm new here, and just thought I would post a blog. What drove me to the ASPCA, aside from my crazy love of fauna, is the Remember Ninja Project on sniksnak.com. It hit home the most, I think, because I currently own a black cat, and cats are my most favorite animal of them all. And Phantom is my baby. I think I would be crushed if anything were to happen to him. So I came to the ASPCA site and read up on a lot of everything. My husband also felt it was good for me to have a cause I trulyContinue
