Indy/India was abandoned at a Wimberley, Texas Fourth of July Parade. She still had her stitches in from her spaying surgery. A rabies tag on her neck and a get-me-home tag proved inconclusive. The owners, despite A.R.F's repeated attempts at newspaper ads and shelter calling came up negative. After 2 months of waiting Indy was placed on our adoption list. She has just found her 4 Ever family and is now living in San Marcos,Texas. Her name remains the same and her new doggie parents are spending lots of time with their new lab "puppy" teaching her obedience and taking her for swims in the nearby river. Happy 4 EVER Indy from all of us here at A.R.F.!

Lulu, a Great Pyrenes/Alutian Mountain dog mix, has found her 4 Ever family! She is now called Milou. She is the sweetest baby in the world. She was abandoned by her family in a pasture, after the people vacated the property. She was left there to starve. When she was rescued and brought to A.R.F. she had severe hookworm which drained her of all her energy. Her treatment was successful and she recovered. Milou is now living happily with her new family and they report that Milou and her new 2 year-old charge are "best friends." Happy 4 Ever Sweet Milou from all of us here at A.R.F.!

Bob, a very senior cat who was going to stay at the A.R.F. sanctuary for the rest of his life has found his 4 EVER family! He was found wandering around the streets and brought in by a concerned person. His tail was cut off at some time in his past, hence the name "Bob." Happy 4 Ever Sweet Bob from all of us here at A.R.F.!

Beautiful Dulce, we just found out she needs physical therapy. She is a full blood German Shepherd who was abandoned at at dog park in Austin, Texas about a year ago. We found out that she had a severe case of heartworm. Thank goodness her heartworm treatment was successful. Then the foster parents noticed her limping. At first we thought she had hip dysplasia. A.R.F. figured we could raise the funds to have surgery done for her. But the vet at the specialty hospital told us she did not have hip dysplasia, instead she has fibrotic myopathy. He also told us that instead of the 2-3 year old age range we thought she was that Dulce is more than likely 7 years old or older. Once her treatment is completed she will be enrolled into a therapy dog program as a "Bow Wow" Dog, she'll be able to go into libraries and schools as a "reading" dog. Dulce is (as her name denotes) the sweetest dog ever!

Biscuit - a full breed Papillion given up by his family because he barked too much, just found his 4 Ever Home with a wonderful family in Austin who recently lost their own sweet Papillon. Now he has a wonderful little sister of 11 years and his new mommy dotes on him. Happy Ever After Biscuit from all of us at A.R.F.!

Country, a QH gelding, another client of mine - he's my buddy!

My dear Smylee girl on her birthday. Smylee died this April at the age of 13 1/2, she had a severe seizure. She was my precious baby and I will miss her always.

Moxie the big-eyed cat, rescued as a kitten. She was bottle-fed and grew up nice and strong and very beautiful.

Moxie (on the left) and Spunky (on the right) were buddies. Spunky lived to be 20 years old. Moxie was determined to be his buddy and she worked on it for a long time until finally he accepted her. She has never been close to any other cat but him.
