Oh to list Perry in his younger days. I called the breeder and asked if my cat was crazy. 10 weeks -6 months He would be running through a room and would do a back flip for no reason. 10 weeks-4 months I would find him resting on the tops of doo…

For morning, I give Jenny half a fugi apple chopped fine, dusted with her vitamin powder supplement (enhance for dogs), onto which I place 2-3 dollops of either yogurt or a fresh raw egg with pulverized shell. To that I add 1/4 lb of either lamb or…

That's cheap to me. I pay about $5 per pound for commercial BARF. By comparison, chicken thighs are $1.09 per pound.

I only feed the thigh portion of the chicken out of conveninece and price considerations. I cut off the knobs of some for her; the remainder with or without knobs joins eggshells for my arthritis soup (the broth of which we both consume, mixed with…

I know.. the canned food is VERY expensive!

at two dollars a can,and 15$ an 8 lb bag of dry it is kind of pricey. but hey they like it.

I value it too. YOu know that was when I got started on here, asking you and others about a proper diet for Delilah. I am so glad I did. You all confirmed what I ahd researched and gave me first hand experiences of the foods I was about to try. I re…

I didnt say I didnt want to hear others opinions. I was putting value on links we give eachother to see things for ourselves. If forced to make the choice, I would choose the links. I dont feel I was rude about anything. I didnt make any personal at…

Calm down? If I calmed down more than I was when I typed my responses, I'd be dead. Be prepared to answer questions if I copy paste? Sorry, not how I feel. I would much rather have members give me quotes and links so that I can look into things myse…

That's like saying we never lived in caves or huts don't you think? I didn't say anything about what they would eat if they were wild. I copied and pasted the opinion of someone more qualified to do so. Furthermore, are you serious? Science answer…

Not being wild is irrelevent. Their diet should be appropriate for their digestive system.

by Dr Jeannie Thomason S.A.R.F. stands for Species Appropriate Raw Food. The Canid species (the dog) is a carnivore by nature and design so they are going to thrive on a natural, raw meat and bone diet such as they would eat in the wild. The diet…

belles: Here is a diet suggestion from the second link: "Adult dogs, over 12-months, should be fed 1 to 2 % of their adult weight once a day. WATCH YOUR DOG’S WAISTLINE. DO NOT OVERFEED. Adjust feeding to your dog’s activity level and metabolism.…

belles: BTW, did you notice the distinction the article implied between BARF and raw meat and bones? Did you give Axel raw bones with his meat? When oxtail is marked down heavily at my supermarket, I buy all they have and throw in in the freezer. E…

belles: Apparently I scanned this a tad too fast the first time and my eyes played tricks on me. In my first reading I failed to note the reason the author considers her scientific training relevant to the subject of pet diets and pet nutrition. MY…

Dog-Park

Steve got home on Friday night, it was late and the but I had put the girls out in their yard so they could greet him as he had called to say he would be home in 20 minutes and I knew they would be ecstatic to see him. The coyotes had not come back to my house but had moved down the road to my neighbors, taking easy picking killing their free ranging chickens.

I was watching TV when the girl alerted to Steve's arrival. I already knew he was home as he had called to tell me he was stopping at th… Continue

An Audience

This august My husband and I took all three girls to a gathering in Northern New York where there were easily 100 ISSR Shiloh Shepherds. The Founder of the Breed has this get together every year along with a huge Dog Show, Lectures from guest speakers, Rally meets and a ton of FUN. WE stayed a whole week had a lot of fun. It is just too bad it rained part of the week and most of the time we were outside.

I am one of those people with a slightly compromise immune system, so I contracted a cold,… Continue

Best in breed

I do not often show Mali as she has a white face and that is a point off the moment she steps into the ring for our breed standard. However this last weekend the Judge was Fred Lanting "Mr. GSD" I just could not pass up a chance to hear what he had to say about my girl past her face. He gives detailed description… Continue

My husbands heart ~ISSR SHILOH~

Yuki came to us as a surprise. We went to a show with Mali and our new puppy Rani here in NC. When we left that morning I told Steve, my husband I heard Mali tell Rani, every time we pack the car like this we are getting another puppy. I laughed and told her, "No we are not getting another puppy!" I was so happy there was a show close to home as traveling long distances is very hard on me. It was a fun gathering, very warm and friendly. Small cabins all set up around a central grassy area where… Continue

Mali teaches

Mali is my ISSR Shiloh Shepherd. I came today to try once again to put into words some of what I see when I watch Mali teach. I have tried to write before about but what she does but is so subtle it is hard to define and if you are not watching her, you could miss it happening.

When we first… Continue

Visit (FFASC) Fight For Animal Safety Communities The reason I started this group on the Ning network was to broaden and expand the knowledge of animal cruelty and to gather people to join the site and become one for animals . I don't want to draw members away from the ASPCA community, I just want you all to have a chance to check out the Social Network and maybe join.

I just took in a 7 month old GSD for foster. I was looking for a name for him and went to the GSD Lovers group for ideas. I saw your comment there on Rani, how cool is that!!!! You have every right to be proud.

I showed my first male Shiloh for a while, he had 4 champion points when we ended it. The thrill of if was great, but the long travel from Illinois, and money, just didn't make it worth it. Shiloh male #2 (in the pic), never even gave it a thought.

I'm going to contiue my search for a name this young lad. Congratulations to you and Rani!

Your kitten story kept me glued to the computer screen. What a good, and sometimes funny, story. I am so glad to read it had a happy ending.

On my page you can read another kitten story from Ty.

This is what rescue and love of animals is all about. You and your husband are terrific!

Hi Tara! I'm doing the same with limiting the carrots and apples - in fact I've totally cut them out for the moment as my rabbit is on a diet. It's not doing much good as she's still a bit podgy! Ha ha! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who gets…
