6/04/08 - Hey everyone......

Is there anybody here that is interested in bringing an off-leash dog park to Wenatchee? Many other cities have brought them in and many have been a great success. This gives dog owners a good place to go with their canine companions. If you are interested, here's a petition that's out there to sign. So if you are interested, here's the link....

5/21/08 - Just a quick update on Betty and Nell....

They are doing awsome, having the time of their life. Occasionally I'll see a lip curl with Betty, but it's rare. But today at lunch, when I came home to let them out for potty, I went into the kitchen real quick and they both followed me. But as they were going through the doorway, Betty turned and snapped at Nell, got her on the muzzle and would not let go, and Nell was squealing. But no punctures, and Nell seems fine, I thoroughly checked her out. Now, I know Betty can have a hairline trigger, but I'm just thinking that it was probably due to me just getting home, and her excitement was just so high and she went over threshhold when Nell was going through the doorway at the same time. Other than that, no other incidents, and any lip curls are only when excited like when I get home from work and she's so excited, close to threshhold, and Nell just comes in a little too close. But after about 5 minutes of being home, Betty's settled down to a level where they actually play pretty hard, and they are both having a really great time.

As for tonight, they played all evening, then after coming inside, they continued their mouthing and romping, and just having a blast. Then Betty started humping her, lol. What was funny was when she humped Nells head while Nell was checking out her underside, lol. Then, out of nowhere, Nell does a full WWE bodyslam on Betty and is on top. I couldn't stop laughing, it was so funny, and shook the floor, as Betty is solid muscle and has some weight behind her, lol. And they just kept it up, Betty trying to hump Nell and Nell counteracting her, putting Betty on her side, lol.

Just thought I'd share how things have been going. With the CAT program, is there anything we can do to further Betty's progress, other than begin on other dogs? I'm more or less concerned about her threshhold at times like when I first get home from work, etc, where she can easily go overboard. Or will time and working with other dogs be sufficient, and take hold and keep her excitement levels from going overboard? Again, thanks for your support. It's been a fantastic couple of days, other than the one little spat Betty had. ;)

5/20/08 - Well, for an update, this was a very good experience for me. The drive home yesterday went fantastic. Then last night, I was keeping them somewhat separated til I could do some more CAT (Constructional Aggression Treatment) today. I let them take turns, first Betty was free and Nell was in her training kennel. Then after a while, I would switch them. At first, Betty would show that she was going to be the dominant one. As time progressed, Betty was actually offering good behavior, but Nell was snapping at her. But at the end of the evening, Betty stunned me by getting one of her bones and dropping it next to Nell's kennel. So I opened the door and gave her the bone. Because Nell was still unsure, I kept them as they are. Then this morning, Betty went to her kennel, got her favorite toy, and dropped it in front of Nell's cage. Nell was still giving lip curls and snaps.

This morning, we started our day by playing CAT. Betty was stationary, and Nell was used to come in. We started at about 30 feet, walked in to about 15 feet and stopped. No issues at all, and Betty was completely relaxed. Then we worked it one step at a time until we saw a reaction in Betty. This was at about 5 feet. So we found the baseline, and worked at 5 feet for a while, then worked our way in about 6 inches at a time.

Once we got to the barrier, they then sniffed. With a successful sniff, we walked away. Came back and another sniff, and walked away. The 3rd time they sniffed, I was thinking, should I wait a little? I did, my mistake. They sniffed fine, then Nell decided to put her paw on the top of Betty's head, and Betty did a quick lip curl and snap and Nell backed off. So we worked on it a couple more times, and once we got to where Nell had a good sniff of Betty's nose and ear and walked away, we called it quits for a break.

Then a little later in the morning, I decided to put Betty on her lead in the yard, and walk Nell around her on leash. She did very well, and they had a couple good sniffs with no issues, and we walked away. Then we came back, and Nell went in closer and sniffed Betty's side with no issues, and we walked away. Then I took Nell off leash and let her go at her own pace, and was where I could get a hold of Betty's lead if anything should happen. They sniffed a couple times, and then Nell decided to break the barrier and went into the area where Betty was, and Betty went up behind her and sniffed Nells behind, and Nell just made a slow circle and went back out of Betty's reach. She did that 3 times. Then I decided, since they are doing so well, we would take a break.

When on break, I took Nell in to where I work to meet the guys and gals there. She just loves people, once she warms up to them. And all the guys and gals I work with just loved her. It was a nice experience for her. I also found another issue I need to work on when I was at work with her. She crawls up the stairs and won't walk down them. So I ended up carrying her down the stairs. Not an easy task, since I've been having to see the chiropracter with my hip being slipped out of place. But we did it.

Once we got back home, I decided to let Nell stay in the yard, and I brought Betty out on leash. Betty was fantastic for being on leash, and then Nell started giving play bows, and Betty wanted to play, but I had her on leash. So I decided to let her play, and took her off leash. They began to play, and they both had a blast. But occasionally when Betty started getting more vocal, I had to step in to give a small time out and had her calm down a little, then back to playing again. I had to step in 4 times, as Betty kept escellating, and I didn't want her to go over threshhold. They really had a good time.

Then I brought them into the house, and they started playing more. Then Nell went to get a drink of water, and Betty said No, not that dish. So Nell went to the other. And of course, it was Nell's dish that Betty said she couldn't use, lol. And that using Betty's dish was ok, lol. Then they went around the house, and Betty was basically telling Nell what she could have and what she couldn't, lol. It was comical. But now they are the best of friends. They play for a while, then they crash on the dining room floor next to each other. And being able to do CAT, and have it actually do as I had wanted, it was absolutely awsome. For those out there that read this, don't rush anything, it could possibly set you back a step or 2, as I did when I let them go longer and Nell decided to put her paw on the top of Betty's head, lol. Just take your time, it's worth it.

Then after todays play, I put Betty in her kennel, as I had a class to take Nell to. Normally it's Betty's class, but today I brought Nell to start her on her Obedience classes. The trainer absolutely loved her. She's got Sit pretty good, and also working on Down. Next week we will be working on Stay, and then Come, then we can really start on her recall. I've got started on her recall already as it is, and whenever I'm in a position where I know she will come, I'll have her come. She's getting pretty good.

One final thing, I'm really glad she's in tune more with me than her surroundings. She looks up to me alot, and is wanting to learn. I think she's going to go a long ways, and now that her and Betty are together, maybe some of her Calmness will rub off onto Betty, she definitely needs it. But anyways, just wanted to let you know where we are right now. They are now very good friends, and is hard to split them up. And Betty's got someone she can play with when I'm doing other things, like housework and yardwork. They come with me wherever I am. ;)

5/19/08 - We went to pick up a registered Border Collie today. Here's how things are going......

Actually, I think Betty is getting over it faster than Nell. At first, when Nell was in her kennel and Betty was out, Betty just wanted to let her know she was boss. Then I got in the middle and told Betty I'm the boss, and I had her lay down, and I praised and petted her for it. Then I took Betty for a walk, and after we got back, I let Betty go in her kennel and let Nell out to explore. Then I took Nell out for a nice walk. Then after dinner we did the same again, 2 more walks. Boy I'm getting my exercise, lol. Now Betty goes up to Nell and sniffs, but Nell does the lip curl, and I say ah, ah.... Betty only made herself known only 2 or 3 times, and then has only walked up to sniff.

Shortly after the walks, when I was on my computer, Betty astounded me. She disappeared into the bedroom and got one of her bones and brought it out and dropped it by Nell's crate. So I got up and went to the crate and went to open it to give Nell the bone, and Betty jumped in front of me. So I had her move to the side again and go to a down/stay, she did. I opened the door and gave Nell the bone, which she really liked, and Betty just layed there with her tongue out. But Nell is still a little on edge because she's the new girl. They also took a short nap as well, Betty was about a foot and a half from the kennel and they both zonked for an hour or so. I think once Nell get's used to it here, Betty will have absolutely no problem with her.

5/11/08 - Today we had a couple instances where we were approached by off-leash dogs, and would like your input on what to do when in that situation. The first was with a Red Heeler. We walked by a yard without a fence, and never knew they had a dog. Well, the owner was out with the dog, and I don't think the owner saw us or his dog coming towards us, as he was around the corner of the house. His dog, who was a male red heeler, approached Betty, and when he came within 15ft, he slowed down and started to arc a bit. From what I understand, this is a proper approach, and not a head-on approach. He came up to Betty, and Betty looked a little stressed but seemed ok with his approach. I also praised her a bit as well, telling her she's a good girl and he's a good boy. But a big mistake, it's one of the only times I was out and wasn't armed with good treats. He then came up to Betty's behind and sniffed. Betty then looked back, and as he sniffed again, she whipped around to strike, and I had to apply a correction. The male dog took a few steps back and sat, watching me and Betty. Then about 20 seconds later, he turned and went back to his owner. Now my question is, what would be the proper thing to do? When Betty was beside me and she turned her head, I had no view of her face, so I couldn't see any signs. Is the turn of the head a sign where you need to intervene to keep her from going over the line? Should I have given her a verbal correction when she turned her head towards the other dog, since I couldn't see if she started do any lip curls or any other facial signs? Overall, I thought this was a really good sign for her, as after her snap and bark, she didn't continue, but just sat there and watched him as he left. A normal occurance would be lunging and pulling to get at him.

The other instance was a neighbors dog behind a fence with an open gate. The dog had escaped the other neighbors back yard and running free in their yard with a gate open. Betty seemed to have no issues with him, he's an older Border Collie mix. And he came up to the fence and made a quick greet and went back to where the other dogs were, and Betty looked as if she really wanted to join all of them, was really excited, but not overly excited.

Then we came to another street corner where there looked to be a male black lab/great dane mix. Looked lab'ish but was much, much larger, and had ears more like a dane. He was in their fenced yard, and was kitty-corner from us, so the street was between us. He barked and Betty looked. I had Betty sit on the corner, and she looked at him. I praised her and petted her. The other dog then came to the corner of the fence, and Betty still sat fairly calm. Then the other dog decided, well, since you are sitting so pretty, so can I, lol. He looked like the cutest huge dog, sitting there nice and handsome, neither dogs barking or wanting at each other. I stayed about 2 minutes, praising Betty and rubbing her on the chest. Then we walked off, and she came with me with no issues, heeling perfectly.

Overall, we had a nice walk. Any comments on anything we did is appreciated. She still has issues with some of the dogs we pass, but is getting much better with the new dogs we come in contact with. She still doesn't like the one monster dog we occasionally pass, looks to be a shepherd/rotty mix. She's never liked him and lunges anytime she sees him. So we don't pass there very often, just now and then to see if any of her other training is taking enough effect to where maybe someday she can pass without lunging.

I always take caution as well, and look at several things when another dog approaches, such as speed, direction, ears, tail, muzzle, eyes. And I felt good about doing it this time, which is like a once-in-a-million type of occasion. 99% of the times I take other measures, whether walking away, shooing the dog away, or anything else, but the other dog seemed to be giving me good vibes, and thought if anything, would be a positive experience for Betty, instead of one where I'm pulling her away on the collar like I'm showing her I'm afraid and wanting to run away from him. The pressure on her collar to pull her away is what starts the lunging, and she's very sensitive to that.

Also, we've been working really hard down at the park on her issues, and this has been the first time we did our walk closer to home, and her actions today really made me feel good. Not just with the red heeler, but with the other 2 dogs as well, who were off leash but behind fences, and one was across the intersection. Whenever we would come across a dog that barked across the street, she would start pulling and wanting across, and she did none of that today. It's times like these that make me feel really good about all the work we have been doing.

4/28/08 - Well, a few weeks ago Betty had her instinct test done, and did pretty well. Now today, she finally had her first class. She did really good. The last few weeks she's been working on her Downs, and it really showed today. We did a little work with her Downs as we were approaching the class area where the sheep were. As we got closer, her anxiety really got to her, and she wanted in there bad. But we wouldn't advance til she would Down. When she obeyed the command, we got closer to the sheep, and would have her down again.

Then for in the ring, she did pretty well. She did break them up a couple times, but then got back under control. Since she's doing well off the bat, now it's time for me to be taught, lol. I need to learn where exactly to go when I release her behind the sheep. So, next time we go, I think that's what I'll ask Monique, to basically get me to where I'm on the same page as Betty and be in the correct position for her to do her job effectively. But overall, she did very well, and we ended the class on a very good run where she drove the sheep to us, and dropped like a rock when the Down command was issued. And we praised her highly to let her know she did a Very Good Job.

4/25/08 - We are finally going for our first herding class on Sunday. It's at 4pm. Can't wait. Will let you know how it goes. ;)

4/11/08 - Betty's been doing pretty well lately. Her trainer has also given her a travel kennel as well. That way I can put her in it when we go places and she's safe. She would always have free roam of the car, which was not the best idea, and my other kennel was too big to fit in the back seat of the car. Now we have something. Got it free. So we've started crate training with the new crate. At first she didn't even want to go in, but I kept telling Betty, 'In the house'. As soon as she went in, I started being really happy and she'd come out to be petted and scratched on the belly. I would do it over and over. Then 2 days later, she started going in on her own, and as soon as I saw her go in, I would act very happy and she'd come out and run happily to me for petting and belly rubs. Within 4 days, she absolutely loves the new crate. Took no food, just being really, really happy and giving her pets and belly rubs. I see people trying hard to crate train their dogs, trying to force them in and feeding in them, and then end up not liking them at all. I highly recommend at least trying this method, getting the dog really excited when they go in. It really works. I also had a friend here locally do it because he had his dog where he absolutely hated the crate. Within a week, the dog was beginning to actually like it. So I know it works, and usually works fast from what I've experienced.

As for our walks, Betty's doing pretty well. She still lunges at other dogs if they get too close, but we've been working on it. The other day, we saw 2 sets of dogs walking the trail, and we were down by the river. I decided to get Betty in the middle. So we let the first ones walk by, then got up on the trail. She was more interested in the pups behind us than the one in front of us. We walked a couple miles this way until we were back at the parking area. While walking, Betty would stop, and I would let out the long line, and as soon as I neared the end of the line, I would say 'Betty, Come', and she would come running up to me and I would treat her and say, 'You see those nice puppies?', and we would walk a little farther and she'd stop again and I would repeat. Occasionally she would run ahead, looking at the dog ahead, then stop, and as soon as I got to her, would praise her and tell her she's being a good dog, giving treats. She did really well, and never lunged either direction. And it was really fun too. I wish I could have setups like this more often.

Then there was another day where we got in front of another dog, and Betty did the same. The only difference this time is they were walking faster than we were, and were slowly gaining. And I saw Betty's arrousal level increasing, but she kept coming. Then, before they got too close, I found a place where I could take her off the trail and let them pass by with no issues. Thought I'd rather end it on a positive note than lunging. She did really well. So things are slowly getting better. She just needs more work, and lots of praises.

4/08/08 - Well, I have an almost new kennel being delivered tonight. Betty's going to like it. And she'll have room to run while I'm at work. It's a 6'x12'x6'. Just need to make some kind of top for it so she can't get out, as she's been known to jump that high with no problems, lol. I'm also getting horse stall matting to put down under it so she can't dig out. A friend uses it and said it's much better on the dogs joints than putting the kennel on concrete. It's a kennel that uses the panels, and not the long stretch of chain-link fencing. Can't wait, should be here by 7:30. ;)

4/07/08 - Here's some more pics......

I'm also getting a kennel for Betty. It's a 6'x12'x6'. The guy is going to deliver it to me on Wednesday. Can't wait.

3/30/08 - We went to Seattle and had a blast. When I first got there, we had to wait as they had customers that purchased some sheep, and had to load them up. It was fun to watch. Then when it came time to let Betty out, she got loose from me, and I thought, oh, no, there were several other dogs out. She first met this big older white dog, I think some kind of sheep dog maybe, not sure. Betty introduced herself, and they sniffed, and all was ok. Then she went after all the border collies, lol. She sniffed the first, said your ok, went to the next, your ok, went to the next, your ok, lol. Then they started racing around with each other. Then Betty took off after some ducks. I though, oh, no, she's going to get one or 2. But instead, she flanked around them and got them closer to each other. It was then that I was finally able to catch her and put the leash on her.

Once Monique had the sheep in the proper area for the instinct test, she had me come in with Betty, walking in over ankle deep mud in areas, lol. Was great, lol. We got to where the training sheep were and Monique took the leash. At first Betty wanted to go head on with them. Monique did a very good job describing to me exactly what Betty was doing, as she doesn't know yet exactly what to do. But after working with her for 10 minutes on leash, she was able to get Betty to the point where she could let the leash go. A couple times Betty had a good chase going on, but overall, she did very well. And with what I learned in the first day, her instinct level is very good, and she's out of shape, lol. So I'm now going to do some research on a good diet to put her on, as she's been only doing free-feeding. So I need to do some homework there and put her on a healthy diet. And as for the exercise, I think now that it's spring and going into summer, we are going to get plenty of exercise, and I'm also going to take her down for a lot more swimming once it starts warming up as well. The water is still a bit chilly with all the snow runoff. Will wait a couple more weeks and see how it is then. I do see other dogs in the water, but they aren't actually letting them swim after balls yet. Just wading and drinking.

Overall, I had a very good time. I wish I would have got more pics, but I only got a couple. Here in a couple weeks I'm probably going to actually start up her training as well, since it's a long drive I'll probably start with every other weekend and see how it goes, then maybe go into every weekend. Just depends on my bills, etc. I think she'll have a blast doing it, she did very well, and I was very pleased.

Here's a couple pics of Monique and Betty after the session......

3/24/08 - I sent an email to the place where I plan on getting the instinct test done, waiting for a response. Checking to see if they have any openings for next Sunday.

Edit: Got a response from them, Betty will be getting her instinct test on Sunday, 3/30/08 at 3PM at DeltaBluez Stockdogs. Yipeeee!!!!!!!!

3/22/08 - Just to give a little history lesson here, I adopted Betty from the Spokane Humane Society around last September 2007. She was about 8 months old at the time, but they had no specifics on her, as she was dropped off overnight in their cages area. So now I have her, and she's been showing some signs of problems that I need to work on.

As for in the home, she's an absolute charm. She's very obedient, and is very lovable. She has no problems with handling her, whether it's her tail, feet, checking teeth and ears, etc. In fact, she loves a good rubdown and being brushed. As for baths, she's in the tub before I can even turn the water on. So, I couldn't be happier with her. Also, she has no resource guarding at all as well. Can handle her food and water dishes, toys, bones, etc. In fact, she prefers to share rather than guard. She's absolutely wonderful.

Crate training went extremely fast. She loves her crate, and when I go to work, she goes right to her crate and waits for me to close the door. And with being only 5 minutes from work, I always come home for lunch, when I let her out to go potty and play ball in the yard for 40-45 minutes, then back to the crate til I get home in the evening. If I didn't do that, my house would be completely redecorated, lol. I got the crate 2 days after I got her, when she completely turned the house inside out and TP'd the entire house in the 4 short hours I was at work, lol. But she didn't damage anything, or chew anything up, just had everything she could get to scattered through the whole house and TP everywhere, lol.

When I got her, she barely knew sit and down. Now she's got a huge list of commands she knows, both verbal and hand commands. She's also getting some of her Rally-O stuff down pretty well. But the thing where she lacks most is calming down and focus, which is where I'm beginning to work now. And she does a lot better at her Rally when she is off leash than she is on leash, which is interesting in itself.

For outside the house, we've been working on her recall, and it's getting better. But there's just things out there that are more fun than coming, lol. So, I need to work on Focus. An example is other dogs, ducks, and geese. At the park we go to, ducks and geese lay out in the soccer field now that the snow is gone. When Betty sees them, she takes off. When she get's closer, she starts flanking them, but when she get's too close, they all fly away, lol. And she doesn't come til there's nothing else to herd, lol.

Since getting her I didn't know about her dog-dog aggression issues. It is mainly when she is on leash. She tends to lunge at other dogs on our walks, etc. I've been working with her on it with a local trainer here in town as well. But as the trainer feels, she said it's fear aggression, and it's deep in her. But without knowing anything about her past, it's hard to know exactly what is the root cause. But she does seem much, much more fearful when she sees poodles, like the 4 small white poodles that live down the street from us.

She really doesn't like going there, but we've been working in walking by them as much as we can. When we come up to that area, their yard fence is set back about 30 yards from the sidewalk, so there is a distance to work with. If I keep her on my left side, she tends to lunge and bark and growl at them, like she wants to attack. But if I give her a loose leash, she tends to go around behind me and over to my right side, putting me between her and the poodles; then she doesn't have too many problems.

I've also been stopping with her when near them, and having her sit and giving her praises and hot dog bits as well. Bt this one is a really hard one to crack, as it seems to be going nowhere, no matter how much I try to show it's OK, and praise her and give her treats, she's still extremely fearful of that area.

Another thing that came out in her after getting her is lunging at people that seem fearful of her or just don't like dogs. If they aren't afraid of her and call her by name, she's all over them, licking, jumping, etc. And being a herding dog, when she does get over-excited, she does tend to nip, but not to hurt.

I haven't had her out with any other dogs off leash yet. When we go to that park and walk the soccer field, on the other side of the 6 foot chain link fence there's a home that has a miniature pincher. The first time we saw him, yes it's a male, I had Betty off leash and she ran to the fence. They sniffed, then began playing, then sniffed more, and played some more. We let this go for about 30 minutes or so, and I tried Betty's recall, no good. I had to go up to her to get her. She was perfectly fine til she heard the click of the leash on her collar, and it was like turning on a light switch, she went from being playful to lunging and showing teeth.

Since then, we have been going there often, and let them get as much interaction as possible. Betty loves it when we go and he's out. And now, with the work we've been doing on her recall, when it's time to go back to the car, all I have to do is say, Betty, Come, and she comes. Doesn't even look back. Now if I could get her to do that with the ducks and geese, LOL.

Last weekend I took Betty to see another trainer, and after our session, we had Betty together with her 2 female boxers with no issues. In fact, we had all 3 of them eating hot dogs out of my hand, all at the same time. And best of all, this was on leash.

Last topic, Exercise. During the winter when it was really icy, we didn't go out near as much as I would have liked, but it was only for a couple short months, mainly the 2nd half of Dec and most of Jan. But now that the weather has gotten much better, we are back to our normal routine. In the morning, we either go on a 45 minute to an hour walk, or we go to the park to let her run, and usually bring a tennis ball with us. Then in the evenings we do the same, but the walks are usually much longer, 2-3 hours. Weekends are usually fun for her. We do a combination of things. We go to the park and play ball a lot. We also go on much longer walks too, sometimes we are out 6-7 hours. We have a nice trail that goes along the river here that we walk, and spend most of the time walking in the grass and not on the paved trail. Also, when it get's a little warmer, we will be able to let her swim as well. It's really hard keeping her out of the water, she can almost physically pull me in and I'm not too small either, lol. So, she does get a lot of exercise daily, and especially on the weekends.

We've been working on her Look At That game more. We are in an area where she used to lunge at dogs all the time, but now no longer lunges from this point. We sit along a path at the park about 50ft from the trail. And I keep Betty on a 30ft long-line. I let her just walk around and when other dogs would come up, I would call her, Betty, Come, and she would come to me for her treat, then would sit and watch the dog go by on the trail. At the same time, I would reward her everytime she looked back at me. So all is going well.

Another new development has also come about, more training possibly. A friend has put me in contact with someone who does herding training with both sheep and cattle. We will be taking Betty for an instinct test here in the near future to see if she's got what it takes to begin herding training, or if she'll turn out to be a problem dog. If she passes with flying colors, then we may look at taking her a couple weekends a month and begin training with sheep, then possible cattle later on. Also at the instinct test, the gal that does it also works with more reactive dogs as well. We won't actually have Betty off leash with the sheep, but she will have her in a position to see how strong her commands are, as well as her recall when in with the sheep. Sounds like everything is initially done on a long line to keep her from doing something she's not supposed to, as in an attack. She said it will take about 30-45 minutes to tell where she stands overall. So, I'm looking forward to it. New experience for me as well.

So there you have it. Another dog rescued, only to find out she's got issues that need to be fixed, lol. But in the end, if I can beat this, it will be another dog saved and who can have a wonderful rest of her life. I just need to learn what it takes to make these behavior changes, and am willing to do just about anything, lol.

3/7/09 - Well, it's been a while since I've been on here, we now have a new family member. I rescued a Sheltie from the Wenatchee Humane Society. She's about 5 years old, and loves playing frisbee. She also loves people, dogs, cats, and anything else that wants to play with her. She's just a lovebug. Her name is Chloe. Here's some pics of her.

Here is a family pic as well....

I can understand that. David and I have thought about getting Blue and Buddy into some sort of agility training, but I think that they would both benefit from herding even more than agility. Unfortunately, I am not certain how or where to get started.

I heard about the herding class from the gal that I got Nell from. She took her a while back for an instinct test, and Nell passed with flying colors. But with gas prices up, I haven't been going. It's over 2 hours each way just to go.

Betty and Nell are adorable. I love that they are getting along so well. I am betting that Nell is just what your Betty needed. :-) How did you find the herding class that you have Betty in? Will Nell also take the herding classes?

Hey everyone......

Is there anybody here that is interested in bringing an off-leash dog park to Wenatchee? Many other cities have brought them in and many have been a great success. This gives dog owners a good place to go with their canine companions. If you are interested, here's a petition that's out there to sign. So if you are interested, here's the link....

All good ideas, thanks! I wondered myself why she didn't grab the one for $100, but who knows, maybe she has funeral expenses...?
