My cup may be empty, but my lap is full...

Well, here I sit. My feet are tingling because I have not moved for hours. A baby on my lap, sleeping peaceful and sound. The puppy, using my leg as a pillow, is snoring away in his dreams. Xena, my doberman, watching as a leader should. No movement or they will awake from their peace. A peace they may never have known had they not found me. Who am I to disturb this with movement. The t.v. has nothing to offer. Nothing I could watch right now would interest me more than what they see in their dr… Continue

I think I need a bigger box...

When I first bought my house I had 2 older dogs, 4 cats, 2 birds and various reptiles (all of which were given to me because they had no place else to go); a room in my new house was dedicated to be "the animal room". My mother said I should "fill every room with life" and began to buy me "animal safe" plants (I will say no plant is safe from a cat). My 2 babies have since passed; 2 of 4 cats, 1 snake, and the 2 birds are still here. I do not think my mother knew the impact of her statement to f… Continue

The only way I know I can find better (quality/quantity/price) is if its a local grower, but everyone here who had any that didnt get ruined, is sold out.

Fairbanks is around 800 miles from me.
a bale that size would last him maybe a few days.
My best option is this local person they are doing it without profit to help out others here who have horses (the only reason they are doing it, they already have their own hay, but their friends dont)

been there, the email addy wont work, called them. quatity + price makes it not my best option.
I have a local, who lives past me, on the way to deliver it to thier place, who has a semi, is in the lower 48 getting ready to load, I have one week to come up with $1200 or $1800 (the 1800 would cover ALL his winter needs) the lower amount, if I can raise it, will go for that and work on securing the balance "some how" but its the best quality for the price and less on shipping because its coming to Homer (they have to pass through Anchor Point to get to Homer)
Best on I've found so far, and it is available but I need to place the order in about 10 days.

Hi friend :)
Thanks for our tips, I called JD eariler this morning and she gave me a few other leads to follow I'm going to look into in a few hours.
So far he has around $350 for hay, $75 is from donations (about cried when I saw that....)
Wanted to send you a pic I took a few years back when I was thinking of doing wildlife photography for a living (combine what I know about animals with art) Changed my mind, I'm to afraid to get wildlife used to being ok around humans.... its to dangerous for them... But, thought youd like a copy of this.
Have a great day, and THANKS so much for your helping with those leads you sent!!!
Your friend Tree n his Warhorse...

If you right click and then "save image as" it will likely show up full size for you. :)

One of the things that deeply saddens me about rescue is how much energy is wasted on in-fighting and politics. If we all put the same energy into actually helping animals, whether it's through this organization or any other, then we would be furthe…

It is crazy how people react. My cat beats up on my two pits and my great dane. The three of them are good dogs. My great dane got loose one day and started to run up to a small child. The child panicked, so instead of running to it my great dane G.…
