My website or blog:

Proud pet parent of:
Nikki (Maltipoo), Buddy (Collie Mix), and Squeekie (Tuxedo colored cat).
How we met:
Nikki: Rescued from bad pet owners.

Buddy: At the local shelter.

Squeekie: Friend who couldn't keep her.
Pet likes:
Buddy likes to roll around on his back in the dirt, lay with his belly on the cold linoleum floor (they call that 'puppy legs'), and stay close to us where he feels safe. Nikki likes to wrestle with the cat, chase balls, and be a couch potato with her mom. Squeekie does her own thing, but her absolute favorite thing in the world is being with her daddy.
Pet dislikes:
Buddy: Yelling, the toaster when it pops up, and the fireplace.
Nikki: Knots, car rides, cough medicine.
Squeekie: Nikki (LOL), discipline, and the spray bottle.
Pet’s favorite spot:
Buddy: The Office - it's his little safety zone.
Nikki: Mom's Lap
Squeekie: The Couch
Pet’s favorite toy:
Buddy doesn't care for toys. Nikki likes 'em all. Especially ones that make funny noices like a duck that quacks. Sqeekie likes Milk Container Tabs.
Pet’s silliest habit:
Buddy: All night long he licks, and licks, and licks...
Nikki: Collects odd ball items from the backyard (3/4 Acre)...She's brought in a gopher head and a rear cat leg...Yeah, I screamed.
Squeekie: Meows (more like squeeks) to get her daddy's attention.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
Buddy: When he is sleeping he is so sweet, he curls up in a ball.
Nikki: She likes it when I tell her "I Love You", she will stare lovingly into my eyes, and gently put her paws on my chest and give me the littlest kiss. We are so in love...
Squeekie: She's got the biggest cat smile when she is in her daddy's lap.
I crack up when my pet:
Buddy: Gets bouts of energy and bounces around like a lunatic. It sounds like he is tap dancing in my hardwood floors.
Nikki: Will duck her head when we go under a bridge or large tree in the car.
Squeekie: Does a rare backflip.
My pet is unique because:
Buddy: He was already an 'old man' when I got him from the shelter. When I saw him in the kennel, his pretty long coat was all matted and he looked as though he had given up on life. He didn't even get up to visit with people. When I got him home, he got a full grooming (The Works!) and people constantly comment how beautiful he is.
Nikki: I never thought I would get a little dog. I went from a 65 Lb. Black Lab to a 10 Lb. White Maltipoo (Maltese and Poodle Mix), but I'd do it all over again. She has the best personality, super friendly to animals and people alike, very outgoing, and lots of fun.
Squeekie: She eats Twinkies...Turns up her nose at everything else.

Some very sad news...

My puppy, Bridget, passed away last night on December 19, 2007 at 11:00pm.

After being in the hospital for 6 days, her Pneumonia and Parvo finally caused her severe respiratory distress and I authorized the hospital to euthanize her. She fought long and hard, and was a real fighter, but there was no longer anything that

Excerpts from Dean Koontz’s ‘The Darkest Evening of the Year’

“They say Jack lead people out three times before the fire department arrived, saved at least five children whose parents had been trapped by flames and died. He heard other kids screaming, went in a fourth time, even though he heard sirens coming, went back in and up, broke out a third-story window, dropped two little girls to people on the lawn catching them in blankets, went ba

"JUST A DOG"

"JUST A DOG"

From time to time, people tell me, "Lighten up, it's just a dog," or, "That's a lot of money for "just a dog."

They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or
the costs involved for "just a dog."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog."

Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog,"
but I did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments hav… Continue

Just getting back to you on your comment We are never alone and I believe in our own passing all our furry friends will reunite with us. I think of Jamie daily. I know it was through her death that I was able to save another dog. Not to replace her but Ky has helped me through alot of guilt I had over Jamies death and not knowing she was so sick. I thought she must have the flu or eaten too much people food. I would have mortaged my house and sold all my worldly belongings if I had known she was so ill just to save her. I still cry when I look at her box. Its amazing the love we give but more amazing at the love they give us. I hope you find comfort in knowing your not alone. Maybe someday you can save another animal in memory and for the love or pup!

Thanks for adding me to your friends list. Unfortunately most are not sterile. As for a rescue shelter, there are none. The animal shelters are a privately run thing, and the ones I have contacted have all told the only accept animals from they're own county, city or towns. In my area there are no shelters, just death chambers. Yes Linda has tried to help me, and I appreciate it. She located a No Kill Shelter in Arab, AL, a couple three + hours away from me. It’s called Heavenly Paws, tried calling them with no success. I'm not sure if Linda was going to have them contact me or not, that is why I tried to call them. I'm not sure what he'd charge me to spay and neuter the ones I want to keep, and to rescue the one I can't keep.
I am on SSI for two busted knees and my lower back among other problems with my bones. I had my fourth surgery on my left knee just a few month’s ago. Four in eight years, doc said I should have let him replace it. So the money is just not available for sterilizing my pets. I’d love to able to fix and keep all. I've tried selling my baseball cards and my NASCAR Diecast car collection. But because I live in a very depressed rural area where there are no collectors I haven’t been able to sell anything. I'd ask my Ex for the money (in loan forum), but I'm afraid she'll start her crap about why I even have cats to begin with. I have cats because they love me with no conditions, except for feeding and loving them, they’re my friends, in a town that is not my hometown. Her hometown.
In the spring on 07' I took one of the mama cats, (BB), to the vet to have her spayed, it cost me $187.00. After I got up off the floor, I asked if I could make payments. He said yes, so it took a few months to pay him. I just had a thought about that that didn't occur to then. What was he going to say? NO. Then he'd have to keep that cat. After Nov of 07, I lost all my savings. So now I struggle to pay my bills every month. But my cats and my Ex’s dog won't go hungry.
Now just a little while ago, about two hours I went out to go the store and my cars messed up again. I just had a starter put on the car a couple weeks back. The darn water pump is locked up. I just replaced it in Oct of 03. It should have lasted longer than that. LOL. I know no part or anything else will last forever. Before I got hurt I worked in the parts business for thirty years. My Ex never understood that parts break, that’s why they make replacement parts. She also never understood how I could go from being a "drinker" (drunk) one day, to being a "Born Again Christian" the next day. With no desire to drink, the smell of Alcohol makes sick.
I thank GOD almost everyday for giving me the strength not to drink. I'm sober over eight years now without one slip and fall off the wagon. In the Gospel of Mark Jesus told is desiple go and preach the word to all ceatures, this means when we get to Heaven our beloved pets will be there waiting for us to arrive home.
Sorry for such a long reply, I tend to ramble on and on sometimes, OK all the time.
Thanks again for adding me to your friends list.

They have feelings just like the rest of us, and we need to step up and stop the abuse and defend these animals. There needs to be more serious punishments for these sick people who hurt and abuse animals.

I thank you for your compassion, generosity and caring.
