2 cats and they are both a year and a few months - and they have truly blessed my life. It amazes me how the youngest (bella) - who was beaten as a kitten and not treated very well has learned to trust us. As for the older cats accepting the little one, here are some ideas. Make a space for the big cats in another room, someplace they can go that the baby isn't allowed, so they can get some alone time. I know it's difficult to do that, keeping the baby out of certain rooms, but the big kitties need some space. Also get some Feliway plug ins, they are expensive but worth every penny. Plug one in the room that the cats spend the most time in, and watch how mellow they become. If the baby is bothering the big cats, put him away for a little while, so they can have some down time. Feed the big cats in a separate room, so they can eat in peace. Get one of those fishing pole toys so you can play with them all together. The big cats may resist the little one for a while, but rest assured, you'll catch them grooming him or sleeping with him one day soon. Cats don't like change, and it just takes a while for them to accept new cats.
Please keep me posted on what's going on with the garage kitty.
