Lhasa Apso, the picture here is of my 7th dog child, Kami. Her name is pronounced like "commie." Which is okay since she is from the Communist occupied country of Tibet. But actually the name stems from parts of my other 3 Lhasa's who have since passed away and gone onto Heaven. I had a total of 5 girls and 2 boys. Poco, Hotei, Moses, Cleopatra, Kishu, Scarlett, all in Heaven now and they are missed desperately by me. Especially Cleo, Kishu and Scarlette for they have each died one after another each year since 2006. I should have known that once they reached old age that it was going to happen. But it still doesn't lesson the heartache.
My dogs are my children since I could not have any. Which is fine with me. It was a path I chose I suppose, maybe God needed me to be a dog mother.
If I can impart any advice to any dog or cat owners. Please please read up on the right food to feed your dog/pets. The food you buy in the grocery stores and see advertised on TV are made out of garbage. Remember the Chinese who put melanmin in our pets food? our toothpaste and what else? Think about the benefit the pet food industry has for cheap products, it is called plain and simple; GREED! Just like Wall Street, bankers, Big Oil, Washington DC. Oh I can go on!
Well check this site out: http://www.newsagepress.com/foodpetsdiefor.html
I read this book many years ago when it first came out. I began then cooking my own dogs food. Now I combine it with all natural holistic foods. All that you can find information on the net I am sure. But to be trusted I would suggest subscribing to The Whole Dog Journal. You can access them on the net too.
Another piece of advice I would like to impart is, watch out the vaccinations that vets have in the past, no I mean the pharmaceutical drug companies have tried to convince us all, including vets that our pets need yearly vaccinations. Well, it is not thought that this is not so true. (does greed fit into this as well!) Think about it folks! They are not there for the good of our pets. Read your labels and question your vets! Vets are coming around to this! Ask for a titer test on these vaccinations, including rabies!
How we met:
via airplane! I wrote to a 6 page letter telling of my love for this breed since I have had a Lhasa since 1973; this Lhasa Breeder who has shown and bred Lhasa's since the 70's. My 2nd Lhasa came indirectly from her kennel. Now Kami, my last came directly from her. I flew to Philly to meet her. I detest flying, scared to fly. For a dog I would swim the deep blue sea!
I had been dogless for a year and my moods aka depression was not being lifted from the triple loss of my babies. Especially Kishu, then Scarlett who both died from renal failure.(poor genetic breeding) They were littermates, sisters. Anyway, it took me having to change planes! Basically I freaked out 8 times the plane took off and landed with many minutes/hours praying....not now God don't take anyone of us now!
I had seen her picture before and she was not the coloring I had been hoping for but it was not that big of a deal. I had unrealistically wanted the same coloring of Hotei, Moses, Kishu which was a blonde/white/golden. Sentimental reasons!
But let me say this, when I opened the car door with the breeder and I saw my Kami, looking at me with these huge black eyes surrounded by white fur! Oh my goodness, I cannot fully and adequately describe the instantaneous and huge emotional love I felt for her. I reached out for her and she came right into my arms and she has never left them!
Kami rode in her Sherpa airplane carrier all over the airport since the security would not let me carry her in my arms. She stuck her little head out of the thing and was the hit of the airport and each plane, the stewardesses all fell in love with her as well! Even the bartender in the Philly airport when I, being scared I would miss my flight back went to the nearest place to get a drink of water for Kami and myself. I don't drink! But the bartender let me put her in the stool beside me and gave her a drink of water! Then it was time to head home, after one more plane change then we landed at the beach. She got in the car with me and you would never have known this pup had never been in a plane! This is why I call her my Fly Girl!
I suppose that God gave her the knowledge that I was her new mommie and that I would die for her. Her every being is my responsibility! The joy this girl has brought to me is immeasurable.
Pet likes:
everything and anything that moves. Or looks like paper! OR as the emergency call I put in to this sites EMT call, was she had gotten a hold of a peanut and it was not the new biodegradable kind. I was so scared for her. Worried mother and I wont' get into how saddened I was to hear them ask for a donation etc etc.
Pet dislikes:
dog food, okay that is not entirely true! She is a picky eater just as I am...so...maybe she gets it from me who knows!
She doesn't like my hairdryer either! But other than that the dog loves everything and everybody! Even my husband!
Pet’s favorite spot:
with me and well that is no lie and I can't even think of her favorite spot. Well maybe underneath a side table that has a long tablecloth. It is like her den!
Pet’s favorite toy:
duck on a rope, tennis balls, monkey too many to mention
Pet’s silliest habit:
wants to play all the time. This shall come in time, for she will only be a year old this Thanksgiving. Hmm, do ya think I am thankful this Thanksgiving...you better your sweet bippy I am!
Pet’s sweetest moments:
when she wants loving or when she comes to the door to greet me when I come home from work and I see the beginnings of a smile or when she comes in while I am asleep and walks all over me and comes up to my face and gives me kisses!
I crack up when my pet:
smiles
My pet is unique because:
she's a Lhasa and she is my heart, my shadow

Thanks for supporting the petition Kimberly... yes most murders are known to have tortured animals at the onset of their "careers". But the goverment hasn't made the correlation and still considers animals property. Sad but true. I think people are more and more tolerant of negative behavior and it won't get better anytime soon.
Hi, I signed the petition "maximum penalty for the men who hacked up a puppy." I'm asking you to sign this petition to help us reach our goal of 100,000 signatures. I care deeply about this cause, and I hope you will support our efforts. Here are the basics of the case:
Hardened police officers have been shocked by the horrifying torture, mutilation and brutal slaying of a seven month old fox terrier puppy near Mackay at the weekend.
If found guilty, they could face up to two years in prison. Police have obtained video footage from a mobile phone which shows graphic images of the puppy yelping and howling in terrible pain as it hacked to pieces with garden shears and a pocked knife.
They said the owners were too distressed to talk to anyone about it.
The pups nose was cut off, its front right leg and rear left leg were cut off and it was decapitated. A three-part video series on a mobile phone shows the dog being tortured.
The maximum penalty under the Animal Care and Protection Act for such an offence is $75,000 or two years in jail; however the maximum penalty ever handed out has been a four month jail term.
WE BELIEVE THESE MEN SHOULD RECIEVE THE MAXIMUN PENALTY AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA FOR THIS SADISTIC, DISGUSTING ACT.
Thank you for looking at my site. I do not make the clothes but I do make the matching jewelry. I will take any outfit and make a necklace to match for your dog, yourself, or your children. I started out making human jewelry and then branched out to making it for animals. Now, I have a full line of items for you and your pet. The name necklaces under "special order" can be made for humans as well in necklaces and/or bracelets. I just made all my little nieces bracelets for the holidays. Thanks again for your kind words. And, yes, I have heard of In The Company....they too have beautiful things.
It is my belief that a gunshot to the head (properly placed) would be no worse than a fast acting lethal injection. Having not experienced either, this remains speculation on my part.

a) you never proved him to be an idiot (which anyone with half a brain can plainly tell he isn't).
b) you haven't proven him to be a crook; and he isn't known for a fact to be one.
Without being able to prove both, you would most likely lose a lib…
