Sophia was due to have her puppies of July 4 2009. Due to the holiday I called my vet cause Sophia had her last litter she had to have a c-section. So I was worried that she would have to have one again and with the holiday I would be in trouble and could loose the pups and Sophia.. So the vet scheduled a c-section for July 3rd. She had 3 cute puppies.. We came home and she woke up from the surgery and since she didn't know she had puppies she wanted nothing to do with the babies.. I had another chihuahua that her pups were going to be 8 weeks old on the 6th of July and I had weened them but every once in a while they would get a hold of mom so her milk wasn't dried up.. So I put the puppies in a playpen and put them on a heating pad to help keep them warm.. I went to make a bottle to get ready to feed them and when I got back into the room Katie was in the playpen with the puppies cleaning them and then the puppies were feeding off her.. I was so happy that Katie just took over and is caring for these tiny little puppies that I thought I was going to loose.. She is a wonderful dog and very special to me.. I just wanted to share this story cause each day I thank God for the miracle he gives us..
