I would do this too. Also, ask if you can bring your dogs down, since I assume they are well-behaved. They can see first-hand that whoever is accusing you is full of "it".
Animal control came to our home today claiming that they had a report that our dog(s) got out and were acting threatening toward someone. 1st, none of our dogs have gotten out. Our back yard is walled in and we take them out on a leash to the car. 2…
Is there a website or other resource that I can access to source this information? I would like to use some of this info in a upcoming presentation about BSL and pits, but I need to be able to document my sources. Any info is appreciated. Thank you!
This is so sad (and ridiculous as we all know). I have written the president and army and hope our voices will be heard. Thank you to all of those sacrificing for our country. May God and your dog be with you!
The pack order is important. We have 2 males. Gef is 6 years old and not fixed and Johnnie is about a year and neutered. We give Gef extra priveledges over Johnnie so they know Gef is higher in the pecking order. For example, Gef stays out when we a…
Our 6 month old cat got out of the house four days before Chritmas and we searched the neighborhood for him. I went one direction and my husband's kids went the other. I soon heard them calling me..."Kristen, Kristen, we found a cat!" "A" cat being…
Thank you for sharing this with us, Kristen. I didn't watch the video because I know I will get extremely upset, but I can just imagine what it is the video is referring to. Thanks for sharing. I do not eat meat and have made the pledge to stop buyi…
Check out: http://www.animallaw.info/statutes/
This is a good law resource, but it looks like you are out of luck. Under Houston, TX Animal Control Ordinances, Article 3, wild animals are prohibited and no more than a temporary premit is mentioned.…
I do understand and agree that nature can be violent and cruel. I have a snake and drop two cute fuzzy mice into his tank each week. After 10 years of this, I still feel bad doing it. However, without killing the mice (in about 20 seconds), the snak…
Sometime, watch nature films of bears killing and eating live salmon tail first; or watch a preying mantis eat a live grasshopper like an ear of corn, beginning at the tail end. Or watch a killer whale mercilessly toss its live seal prey around in t…
Try to imagine the planet earth as a paradise where all animals are plant eaters and never kill one another. There is plenty to eat and plenty of space for living peacefully. Wouldn't that be great?
No. It would seem great at first; but one has to…
I know that one... I'm sitting here scrambling to find a home for my two dogs that the foster backed out of on me, and Willamette Valley Humane Society calls me and wants me to place two dogs for them... I don't have enough fosters as it is... so I'm scrambling to place ads for more fosters. Hope it works. Good luck on your little rescue.

Kristen,
I am looking for support in a fight for all pitbulls in Oregon. Over this weekend, Multnomah County Animal Shelter took in a pitbull with part of it's back leg missing. Without even bandaging it, let along giving it pain meds or anything else, the dog was taken straight to the temperament test room and given the test. So here is a pitbull in pain, bleeding all over the room and grumpy, but they want it to pass a temperament test to get treatment. This is rather bordering if not animal cruelity, and I will have the full records tomorrow on this temperament test, along with Multnomah County Animal Shelter's email address. I want these posts spread to any and all pitbull advocates that you know, I want the multnomah county animal shelter's email box over flowing with complaints about this treatment. I will also be writing the ASPCA myself, and asking for the facility to be shut down, and totally restaffed before being able to open up and resume operations. Please let me know if you will support me on this fight.

That isn't fair at all.... in my tiny town of 300 people they tried to make strict laws on how you must restrain a pit.. we own two.. the law said you must keep them on a 3 foot long chain, not a rope, when they were off your property (no leash law…
I wouldn't know from personal experience that she won't be but in my opinion very good socialization and as I would put it "extensive doggy training boot camp" at an early age will be the best to prevent any issues and at any sign of aggression corr…
