I disagree with some of the comments left here. Cats are not meant to eat carbohydrates and vegetable proteins you find in dry food and a lot of canned food There is a lot to be said on feeding cats raw protein that are prepare properly I found this…

Laura replied to Mel's discussion 'New kitty?' in the group Catsville
I know you already have your kitten in the home and have begun the slow introduction process, but I wanted to respond to this. The best way to show you are in control is to simulate the effects of a dominant cat in the wild. A good way to do this i…

Laura replied to Mel's discussion 'New kitty?' in the group Catsville
I think it is fantastic you recognize the flaws in your previous attempt at introductions, because that means you will be much more likely to be successful this time! I have two cats, both former strays, who came into my life at separate times. I h…

She needs to be treated again. To totally get rid of worms you have to treat at least 2 times sometimes 3, 2 weeks apart. This is very important in a pregnant cat since the worms will deplete her nutrition and could harm the babies. Over the counter…

Have you tried rubbing catnip into their scratching posts? Also, I use scratch boxes so they can enjoy the destruction factor-- Trader Joe's has a great one that comes WITH catnip and is doublesided so you can flip it when they finish one side. I f…

Our older cat desperately tried to break out of the house the first spring we had him. It's their call to the wild! We ended up going to our vet because he was having a host of other anxiety issues. Our vet suggested getting a leash to take him outd…

I support making the effort to do TNR, but have to disagree with the first comment saying many stray cats do not fare well in shelters. Feral cats may not do well in shelters, but there are shelters who have special feral colonies on-site. Further,…

Profile Information

Proud pet parent of:
toulouse (the big brother) and annie (the little sister)
How we met:
toulouse was rescued by a friend of ours outside of his workplace. he and his wife could not keep him, so we adopted him. he is four years old and a big sweetie!

annie is a newer addition. she was trapped under a porch up the street from our apartment. we heard her crying while walking home one day, and once free she ran up to us. she more or less adopted us, not the other way around.
Pet likes:
toulouse likes cheese, arm rubbing, talking to birds, and generally avoiding annie's attacks.

annie likes toes (chewing on them), spending time exploring the bathroom, fitting into very small places, and antagonizing toulouse.
Pet dislikes:
toulouse needs quiet time for naps and does not like to be disturbed.

annie does not appreciate it when we won't share milk with her.
Pet’s favorite spot:
toulouse and annie both love sitting in any of the windows of our new home, especially in my bedroom overlooking the backyard.
Pet’s favorite toy:
they both LOVE their double-wide scratcher from trader joe's that came with catnip!
Pet’s silliest habit:
toulouse has a tendency to lay down in funny positions with his arms and legs splayed in every direction. annie is very insistent about sniffing your breath-- the worse it smells, the better!
Pet’s sweetest moments:
whenever we catch them being affectionate with one another!
I crack up when my pet:
roll around on the ground wrestling.
My pet is unique because:
toulouse is very special because of how willing he was to let annie into our home. annie is very unique because... well, she's a pistol. her attitude is something else!

Thank you for your input and thank you for not being rude about it. I don't want to have it done but I had a problem last week where i think my femal cat got scratched in the eye by my newest arrival. I'm just worried about them because the little man (Mufasa) likes to play rough. I will try every other option I have before making the ultimate decision. Some others have given me some other options as weel that I will give a shot. Again thank you for you advice and it's nice to have you in the group.

Central Ohio huh? No thank you, it snows there! I am originally from Louisville and have family in Eaton so I know what your winters are like! Even though it is cold here this morning, we don't have to deal with snow! Yuk! Plus, Ohio is not a good place for pit bulls due to BSL. I would have a lot of problems living there! Probably end up in jail! LOL Stay warm!

Hi Laura, Thanks for the kind comments about my babies! It is always nice to hear from someone that actually knows what a "true" pit bull is! I also have a 12 year old tom cat that rules the roost! It is sooo funny to watch him with the dogs. Believe it or not, they are so afraid of our cat that they won't even walk past him unless one of us walks them by him!!! Too funny.....You know, those "vicious" pit bulls; killing machines!!! LOL Hope you have a great day and are warm too! I am in North Florida and it is freezing here this morning!

Yeah, she tried, just before adding the comment to your page. I get instant e-mail notices when someone posts to my page or comments and when I saw it was her, I read the first sentence and then deleted it without bothering to read the rest. I will not play her little game. I have had run-ins with her in the past, she probably does not remember because she is so busy stirring up new hornet nests instead of offering constructive critisim or actually offering good advice. I also blocked her from leaving future comments to my page. I hate to do that, but like I said, I won't play her game. Been there, done that.

Hope the snow doesn't come your way. Rather nasty driving this morning. All is good here.
Tracy.

Sheesh, don't say I didn't warn you about that certain someone.

Lelectra aka SusanO aka Belles, She/He/It keeps coming back with a new name and profile when the heat gets high. I guess It thinks we are too dumb to catch these little switch-a-roos.

What gives It away each time is the hateful attitude, repeat statements, and power hungry attitude. It keeps stirring the pot hoping someone else will feed. Some of us who have been around here a while, are on to the shit-throwing and antagonistic attitude. Lelectra aka SusanO aka Belles starts off being nice, worming her way into the various groups, sharking about looking for prey, then starts taking over discussions, and finally, the bi-polar sets in and out comes the psychosis.

This person tries to tempt you into vile arguements/discussions and then once you have crossed that line, It has the nerve to file a complaint with the ASPCA to get you banned from the site. I've seen this happen over and over and good members get caught up. ASPCA needs to ban Lelectra aka SusanO aka Belles instead.

I think you handled yourself very well and did not fall prey to the antagonistic comments. I was also very amused at how many commenters once again failed to read the point of your discussion, and began a dialogue of their own on some other unrelated tangent. Makes you wonder how they ever graduated high school.

Tracy.
