my friend has a little dog that looks like a pomernarian. and she had a DNA test done and he ended up being a poodle/doberman mix. who would have thought and he looks nothing like either of those breeds.
but i think she said she had the test done fo…
Hi Liz! I am glad you wrote because we adopted our Harry in July. He is a rescue dog somewhere between 2 and 3 in age and we have been toying with the idea of doing one of those tests too. Harry looks a lot like Augie - except he is tricolor (black,…
I think it is a smart thing to do. It helps you with properly caring and training for your dog. If you specifically train to fit your dogs breed, that can help too. If somone would of told me how stubborn Bichons could be. I would of had a lot easie…
I'm just curious and people are always asking me what kind of dog he is since he is so cute and mild mannered! But trust me I love him indefinitely no matter what! And he is most definitely not be breed since he is neutered! haha
Why do you care? He is aBsolutely....BEAUTIFUL! You know in your heart....he is from the best of genes! Only care, if you are thinking of breeding him. Otherwise, love him, and realize he is PERFECT to you, in every way! NANCY........he really is AD…
I read an article that concluded that the DNA tests for mix breeds is not perfected yet, and probably not worth spending your money on.
He is a gorgeous boy. In that pic I do see the GSD and hound in him. Just call him special, and love him for wha…
I would need a lot more than one picture to make an educated guess of what mixes he might be and even then I am sure there would be a few left out.
He is adorable.
Hi Liz - i don't know much about those dna testing kits BUT he is such a pretty boy!! i love his coloring. glad he has found a good, loving home. enjoy
What ever his heritage he has landed on his feet with anew family where he is loved and maybe for the first time in his life he knows what a real home looks like. I am the fortunate owner of three ex-racing greyhounds and one whippet all deeply love…
At my local spca. I walked through the kennel and he was one of the only dogs that wasn't barking loudly. I put my hand in his cage and he licked it. Love at first site :)
Pet likes:
When I let him cuddle on the couch or in bed, treats, peanut butter, long walks, going to the beach, swimming, toys, running, bones, following his mommy everywhere, car rides, going to Petco, other dogs, and of course, belly rubs
Pet dislikes:
Being without his mommy, or worse, completely left alone, the "Pedipaw", people he is unsure of(he has a slight fear of new ppl, especially larger men, but he seems to be improving)
Pet’s favorite spot:
next to his mommy, literally, this dog never leaves my side!!
Pet’s favorite toy:
Probably his kong when I put peanut butter in it, his buoy that i throw in the ocean, or his stuffed squeaky orange lamb
Pet’s silliest habit:
When he watches tv, or hears dogs barking on tv and thinks its real life.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
When he gets in bed every morning and licks our faces to wake us up. Or just when he looks up at me wagging his tail.
I crack up when my pet:
Tries to run too fast on the wood floors and completely wipes out!
My pet is unique because:
Augie is truly one of a kind. He is a total mutt that I adopted from the SPCA over the summer. I am not completely sure what kind of dog he is, but I'm pretty sure he has some shepherd and hound in him. He is a complete mama's boy. I have never had a dog that is so loyal and affectionate towards me. However, he seems to carry some baggage from his days as an abused animal. He is weary of people he doesn't know and suffers from severe separation anxiety whenever I leave. But all around he is a great dog.
