Profile Information

My website or blog:
http://www.freewebs.com/savegodscreatures
Proud pet parent of:
4 labrador retrievers Haley,Jasmine, Shaggy and Scooby Doo
I also have finches, a few cockatiels and 2 lovebirds and Skye my husky. The shelter I rescued her from said she was a shepherd mix but my vet comfirmed she indeed is a husky. She has all the husky characteristics too. :)
How we met:
We have a new addition to the family and her name is Skye. Skye is a shelter dog who was going to be euthanized as she was deemed unadoptable. Skye is one of many shelter pets who are evaluated in a shelter vet office and do not test well because they are scared etc.. Once Skye was in a different environment in the shelter she tested alot better. She would not have been adopted out because of liablility but I am a volunteer and because my husband and I knew she would be a good dog brought her home. She is doing great and the food aggression issue she was thought to have is gone. Also she lays down in the submissive position something she would not do in the shelter vets office. She is a beautiful dog and we have given her a second chance to be with a loving family. So we are the proud parents of another 4 legged daughter. Skye loves to hug and give lots of kisses she is quit affectionate something they said she was not also. We love her kisses and she cuddles.
Pet likes:
my labs all love to swim, they love to run after each other and play
sometimes they will watch tv with my husband and I we watch the dog whisper together
Pet dislikes:
there is not much a labrador dislikes, With Skye we are still learning what she likes and dislikes. She is quit the complainer when she does not like something but she does get over it very quickly. I think with time she will adjust.
Pet’s favorite spot:
cuddling up next to us on the couch and watch tv. They love to swim in the pool except for Skye of course she does not like the pool.
Pet’s favorite toy:
Jazzy has a wubby that she absolutely loves, they all like to play tug of war with the rope and their nylabones.
Pet’s silliest habit:
Scooby and Skye like to steal kleenex's out of the box, Haley likes to steal loaves of bread if you leave it out, Shaggy loves to show us his agility skills and jumps the baby gate or clears the 4 foot fence so he can jump in the pool, and Jazzy likes to steal all the doggy toys and put them in a corner for herself. Haley likes to jump in the tub and lay down and steals your pillow at night. As a puppy we had to break her out of jumping in the tub with my sons when they took a shower but she still likes to lay in it sometimes. Shaggy also loves to lick and nibble your ear but he know that is only allowed with daddy. Scooby sleeps on his back ,jazzy has one special wubby she does not share with anyone.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
they have so many cute and sweet moments its would be hard to name them all
my labs are awesome. Scooby loves to jump on the couch and lay on my lap. He still thinks he's a lap dog when it comes to me. They all love to cuddle
my husky loves to give kisses and cuddle and she is awesome too. I love it when she trys to talk to us.
I crack up when my pet:
scooby snores sometimes and sleeps on his back , haley likes to steal your pillow, jazzy thinks she belongs between my husband and I in bed and she requires her own pillow, shaggy likes to lick your ear and then give you a little nibble (his daddy/my husband taught him this) shaggy loves to cuddle with you and stick his face right under your neck. Skye like to tuck her head down on the couch with her butt up in the air and then she starts talking up a storm.
My pet is unique because:
because they are my 4 legged children and they love to be hugged , kissed and cuddled they each have a special uniqueness about them. They like to put their paw over your chest when you lay next to them just like a person.

Peanut my hand raised finch passed away July 2008

I hand raised peanut from day two her parents kept throwing her out of her nest. I bought nesting formula and fed her with a tooth pick. She slept on a small tuperware container with a layer of paper towels on a heating pad. She lived for approximately 6 yrs. Peanut was the only finch I know that would land on my shoulder or perch on my finger. See will be dearly missed.

A Dog's Prayer

Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than
the loving heart of me.

Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between the blows, your
patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's

Your Pet

People should think twice before they get rid of their pet! If your child misbehaves do you get rid of him/her? Your pet is like your 4 legged child it may not be able to talk to you but it has feelings.

A dog loves you unconditionally no matter what. They are loyal to you no matter what. They trust you no matter what. They forgive you no matter what. Have you ever noticed what dog spells backwards GOD

Yes, you are welcomed on the purebred lab site. Mixed breed dogs are great and beautiful also. I did answer you but maybe you did not receive my response. Check your comment box maybe its there on your page.

I am new at this blog stuff. My dog is a retriever mix-his Mom is a Golden amd his Dad is a Black Lab. Would I be welcome here, or is this only for pure bred labs? Please let me know, as he is my precious angel. Thanks, ShirleyABC (Shirley) I left this comment another place but I think I did it wrong because nobody responded, so if you have an answer for me I would appreciate it.

Haha. I hoped that she really wasn't on the jetski herself! Sara Lee is a mix. The rescue group said shephard mix which she did resemble. As she got older her features changed. The best guess our vet gave us is pit/lab. She has the sweetest temperament. Her 9 cat siblings beat the heck out of her and lick and nuzzle her and she is so good with them. Saw all your pics and love em. Saw you got one of the babies at humane society. If you are into shelter pets check out the group savingshelterpets. They do wonderful things i have found. Keep in touch! Robin :-) Tell him watch out for the riptide :-)

Belles I also free feed, only had an issue with one cat, whom we nicked Hoover, he would inhale any food possible then present it back. I agree cats are individuals as are dogs, some do fine with free feeding others do better with timed feedings.
