Michael,

I am looking for support in a fight for all pitbulls in Oregon. Over this weekend, Multnomah County Animal Shelter took in a pitbull with part of it's back leg missing. Without even bandaging it, let along giving it pain meds or anything else, the dog was taken straight to the temperament test room and given the test. So here is a pitbull in pain, bleeding all over the room and grumpy, but they want it to pass a temperament test to get treatment. This is rather bordering if not animal cruelity, and I will have the full records tomorrow on this temperament test, along with Multnomah County Animal Shelter's email address. I want these posts spread to any and all pitbull advocates that you know, I want the multnomah county animal shelter's email box over flowing with complaints about this treatment. I will also be writing the ASPCA myself, and asking for the facility to be shut down, and totally restaffed before being able to open up and resume operations. Please let me know if you will support me on this fight.

The option to adopt is always there, I'll have one that will need a home asap on friday, if they release her to me like they are suppose to, the rescues are full of pits in need of help. But because of all the pits that are already in rescues, shelters, and fosters, foster homes are needed also so the dogs don't have to sit in county shelters where they get very little attention or care.

Michael, thanks for joining, and thanks for the comment left. I'm part of other pitbull boards, and am always hearing of pits in need of help all across the united states. Are you ready for another pit now, and are you looking to just foster, or adopt another?

Michael: I hope you didn't take it wrong that I asked you those questions, Pitts have a bad reputation already and we all have to make sure that when one of them goes to a new place is to a home with responsible owners, I admire you for what you have been thru already. I want you to know that is not personal..Nikki is going to be evaluated on Saturday, her caretakers are taking her to Jen, the girl that send this email out about Nikky(she works for a rescue in NJ) so I will make sure I give you the updates as soon as I get any word.
Thank you so much!!!!

Michael: thank you for the offer for Nicky, I must ask you a couple of questions.... Do you have experience with Pit Bulls? what happened to your other dog I see in the pictures you don't have her/him anymore? do you have a fenced in yard? how are you planing to care for her medical? these are tough times..and since you are far from NJ we need to make sure that it will be ok for her to go...
hope you understand.
Thanks

Dear Michael,

When you promote a grotesque program like Governor Sarah Palin’s Alaska wolf slaughter, you can expect gruesome results.

A startling example: In June, after gunning down 14 adult wolves from a helicopter, officials from Governor Palin’s Department of Fish and Game rounded up 14 orphaned wolf pups and methodically shot each one in the head in clear violation of a state law.[1]

This is a story that needs to be told. Please watch our new video on Palin’s wolf killing record and share it with every animal lover you know.

Warning: This video contains the disturbing truth about Governor Palin’s out-of-control wolf killing efforts.

State law prohibits the targeting of pups -- a practice known as denning. Maybe that’s why Palin’s officials tried to cover it up, making no mention of the brutal pup executions in the state’s June 30th press release on the killings.[2] To date, none of the officials involved in the incident has been held accountable.

Governor Palin could be just a heartbeat from the presidency. Do we want a vice president who champions savagery towards animals?

Voters deserve the truth about Sarah Palin. Please watch this disturbing new video and share it with your friends.

If you’d like to do even more to help spread the word, please consider making a donation of $28 in memory of the 28 wolves that were killed or whatever you can afford to help promote this video and place other ads to ensure voters in key swing states know about Sarah Palin’s record.

Thanks to caring supporters like you we’ve already been able to educate literally millions of voters about Palin’s disgraceful record on aerial killing. Our video and television spots have generated enormous media attention about Alaska’s aerial gunning of wolves, from newspapers to radio, TV news to even Saturday Night Live.

Our efforts are causing more and more voters to change their minds about Palin. In the final weeks of this close election campaign you can help make a powerful difference.

Please watch this hard-hitting new video and share it with anyone you know who cares about our wildlife.

Thanks for all your help so far. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on our unfolding strategy.

Gratefully,

Rodger Schlickeisen
President
Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund
