Proud pet parent of:
Brandi (jack russell/rat terrier mix), Layla (pit bull), Maggie (jack russell/rat terrier mix)
How we met:
I bought Brandi from a breeder, which I will never do again. I wanted to find a partner in crime for Brandi, so I went to the Humane Society of South Mississippi and that's where I met my pal Layla. Her name was Tinkerbell at the time though. They let Layla out of her cage; she was so excited, she peed on the floor! I didn't have the heart to put her back in there. My first pit bull came home with me that day! She's been a joy ever since! Maggie is my most recent addition, only had her about 2 months. I was coming home from work one day when I saw this puppy in the street. Cars were flying by, while honking at her. She just kept going from each side of the road to the next, as though she were confused and lost! I didn't have the heart to leave her there. I turned around to go get her. I had to squat on the ground and calmly coax her into coming to me without startling her and making her run into the ruthless traffic. She came to me without a problem. I knocked on the doors of surrounding houses; NO ONE answered, not one!! I put an ad in the newspaper for her, but it was not a success. I figured I could bring her to the shelter...but I was attached. Needless to say, Maggie is now a pal of mine too!
Pet likes:
Brandi loves shoes! She collects them and slippers in her kennel! She also loves tennis balls and squeak toys! Layla likes to tan in the sun. She also LOVES to sleep!! Maggie is the toughst "bout it" dog I've ever seen. She tries to bite the vaccuum cleaner while I'm using it! We recently found out that she also has a love for the wheels of a moving lawn mower!! We'll have to watch out there!
Pet dislikes:
Brandi HATES the sound of lawnmowers or anything loud. She is a little skiddish around new people too! Layla hates anything that moves without her moving it, inanimate objects that is! Maggie doesn't really like to be held. She's independent!
Pet’s favorite spot:
Brandi loves to lay buried under a blanket or on a pillow. Layla has to be wherever I (or my family members) want to be. Layla also thinks she's a lightweight dog to be held in one's lap! Maggie will lay anywhere, but enjoys curling up next to Brandi...when they're together, they look like twins...I call them my twinkies!
Pet’s favorite toy:
Brandi loves anything that squeaks and tennis balls! Layla likes any toy that one of my other dogs has. She needs to take it and keep it to herself! Maggie loves sticks!! She'll eat them...she even carries sticks about 10 times her size!
Pet’s silliest habit:
Brandi will get into these moods when she needs to treat the house as though it's a racetrack. She has to hit a few FAST laps, get some water and then "chill." If I don't pay attention to Layla, she'll cry and attempt to talk...I think it's funny. If I laugh, she barks at me! Maggie's funny when she plays tug-of-war with my mom's lab for a stick!
Pet’s sweetest moments:
Definitely when they're sleeping, they look so innocent. I love when Layla snores so loud it wakes me up!
I crack up when my pet:
I love when Brandi attempts to jump on the sofa or bed and hits the side...a miscalculation. I also laugh when Layla has the hicups...she just looks at me as though I'm a fool! When Maggie tries to take on the vaccuum cleaner...if she could only bite it and carry it away! :)
My pet is unique because:
Brandi is smart and she knows when there is tension between the other dogs...she steps in between them. I've even seen her actually stand up to put her paws on one of my other dogs to calm her down. Layla looks like Yoda! Maggie is a sweet puppy with a lot of spunk!

hello randi,i'm just glad(or maybe they should be glad!!!)that i don't live next door to them.people who abuse animals REALLY piss me off!!!I would be reporting them to the police on a regular basis.if you do report these PEOPLE just make sure you have alot of proof because these people like to lie their ass off when it comes to stuff like this.I swear,if it was me,i would be taking alot of photos and writing things down.Have you called the aspca on these people???If not,you should!!!LORI

hello brandy,i can't beleve that you actually live next door to people who hate animals!!!How awful!!I thought that everyone loved animals. Is there certain animals that they hate?Or do they hate every one??It sounds like they don't know what TRUE love is.People are cruel, but when a animal loves you,it's for life, and it doesn't matter what you do,you can be a mass murderer and your pet will still love you, aren't they amaizing???I have two kittens and when i come home from work, they're both right there when i open the door.To me,that's love.LORI

hi, note about your comment on the green group:
Green or eco-friendly is not the same as cruelty free. They are seen as separate issues to some while other companies consider them to go hand and hand. That is why there is the leaping bunny logo to look for on products for cruelty free. And if its not there, look at the guide to see if the company is on the list... becuase the logo is elective. see:

cheers!

Haha I know what you mean. Shadow loves my bed but three is a crowd. So he only goes on my bed when he's napping with me. I swear I wake up and he's on top of my legs.
