Yes, to some extent. But I primarily do investigations of puppy mills to acquire video and photographic evidence to be used by the media and for use in legislative efforts for better laws against puppy mills.

We are hoping that with the new Secretary of Agriculture there might be a chance to pressure USDA to do a better job of enforcement.

A letter writing campaign could be very helpful especially since we have a new Secretary of Agriculture. It will be interesting to see how he performs on this issue.

I have been investigating puppy mills and pet stores since 1980. I am very familiar with this industry. It is simply not true that unsold puppies are returned to the puppy miller. They are simply discounted until they sell. The fact is the dog broke…

Thanks for the suggestion. We are always pushing to publicize this issue. Maybe if I really was Bob Barker I would get a lot more publicity. :-)) Thanks for the suggestion.

I have great news. The puppy store that we were picketing is now closed because the owners did not pay their rent. I think that possibly our picketing helped to spread the word about them, and in a poor economy, this was the last straw.

I saw the special last night about puppy mills, and although I already knew what goes on at these horrible places, it turned my stomach and made me cry. I have been working with some people to try and close a pet store around my neighborhood that sells puppies. People have claimed that they walked in the store and the bad smell was so powerful, they had to leave. We protested in front of the store for quite a few weeks, but the organizer decided it wasn't doing much good. Now I'm told they are selling puppies on Craigslist. I want to continue to work on closing them down, but I'm not sure what else to do. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.
