Proud pet parent of:
Bella-Luna a 6 yr old, pit/lab mix. Just turned 6 in August. We knew her b-day was in August, just didn't know when, so we made it the 21st. Also a 21 or 22 year old double headed yellow crown (basically a parrot), can't remember if he just turned 21 or 22 on the 4th of July this year.
How we met:
Our bird we got from a pet store, or his last owner when I was 2, so I don't know much of that, but he's scared of brooms, vaccums and any sudden movement, and doesn't like when you startle/surprise him. He is our alpha of the house, the dog is second in command. He does not like other birds, and if you stick him infront of the mirror, he goes crazy, cause he thinks it's another bird. Our dog came to us at 9 months, she moved in with her at that time owner, he had her at the shelter until he was sure the place he moved to allowed her. At that time she had had 3 different owners, incl. himself, but all, but one I think of the owners knew eachother, and 4 different homes inc. ours. We knew her history, pretty much anways. After about 2 years living with us, her owners' buisness was moving and the company was paying for the place where they were staying, but no dogs were allowed, so he said it was us or the shelter we decided we didn't want her to go to the shelter, so we kept her. He was suppose to send me all her paper work, but never did, so we basically started from scratch. Besides those of us that know her, people think shes' a shepard mix. She actually has about 100 different breeds in her, but the ones that show the most are pit and lab, and you can see that in her personality too. We also had a roommate who had two dogs live with us and her for a while, one of the dogs was 7yrs, and the other was 2yrs. and at the time Bella (that's what I call her for short) was also 2 yrs.
Pet likes:
dog park, walks, car rides, pool, dogs, treats, pupperonis, apparently are her favorite, people, esp. (little) kids. playing, chewing tennis balls and toys up, chasing skunks, protecting us from skunks and other stray/wildlife that comes into our yard at night. my bird, who's name is Boregart, he likes a stuffed bird burrito I gave him for Christmas, me singing to him 24/7 or having his favorites playing, meaning Lies by the Waifs, cause that's the song I sing to him most of the time, or his new favorite, achy breaky heart, he heard it on family matters one morning, and was happy. So, I get to learn that song now. Being boss, being king of the world, meaning getting to go on top of his cage, being the alpha, or already said that, spending time with people, he would like to climbe on desks, bushes and trees to chew them up, but we wont let him, he also chews up anything wooden and plastic. Sometimes he likes to show off his swinging skills, and sometimes he dances for us. He's been saying a lot of new things lately. gives himself a bath when he wants it. likes to be tucked in at night, with a blankie and all.
Pet dislikes:
being alone, being told she can't have or do something, not being able to say hi to dogs/children, not being able to go for a walk, short walks, that she's been doing more lately, because she was just diagnosed with arthitis, not being able to go near the bird. Bobo (that's what we call our bird for short), doesn't like when dogs/cats come to close to him, doesn't like if I stop singing/paying attention to him, even if it's just for a second, doesn't like when his cage is messy, doesn't like bugs bothering him. water on him, unless he does it himself. not getting what he wants.
Pet’s favorite spot:
Bellas-next to Bobo, next to one us, in one of ours rooms, in the backyard sunbathing, on one of our beds, prefarbly on our side if we're not in our beds, and not her side, on bobos blanky when it's off of him and on the ground, spaced between us, behind the couch, that's also usually where bobos blanky is.

Bobo, at one of our shoulders, on his portable perch outiside supervising, on his portable perch outside, on his portable perch inside, near one/all of us, watching tv, in his cage as long as were paying attention to him. His cage is adjusent to everything, from his cage, he can see outside, watch tv, be near the couch, and near the computer.

Whoever told you that others can take you seriously when you sound like an immature jerk was wrong. For anyone---what percentage of animals does the ASPCA put down versus Peta and HSUS, in one year?
