3 imprinnted legal Pet Starlings, a legal imprinted pet House Sparrow, two crippled finches and an ancient Siamese Cat that wiggled his way into a dog pound before I found him!
How we met:
Rescuing animals no one else loves or cares for and those who others deem un-salvageable
Pet likes:
Love! attention and all the healthy things we can feed them...and oh...music!
Pet dislikes:
Loud noises...and being ignored
Pet’s favorite spot:
Sitting as close to their people (us) as they can get
Pet’s favorite toy:
Us! lol
Pet’s silliest habit:
Talking, singing and whistling... and saying each others name when we talk to them (Starlings) House Sparrow ...wolf whistling and bathing in our hands every time we try to wash them.... Our Siamese cat Marly... trying to eat anything and everything.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
Cuddling up with us when they could fly, walk or crawl somewhere else.
I crack up when my pet:
Starlings... Laughs at me when I stub my toe or do something stupid. Sparrow...pretends to be an 'eagle' in order to defend my husband when we pick at him (my hubby not the bird) Marly the cat...when he plays with the kids toys like Hot Wheels cars.
My pet is unique because:
They are animals others did not care for or did not think were worth while...I love them for who they are and with the birds they were all rescues that chose to stay and they spend time with us not locked away in cages.

LOL - so, it was a good thing when I gave up on the water bottle and let Tweety get her way, huh? How funny. I also tried with Henry, thinking if I started him early maybe it would work - not! So, I just try to keep Tweety's bath water as clean as I can, and she drinks and bathes in it.
I love the way Tweety sings as loud as the TV - and the louder you turn up the tv, the louder she sings. When she was young, I put her out on in the sun room for a while thinking she'd love the trees and the other birds nearby. She didnt make a sound out there - until she saw or heard me in the kitchen. Then she BANG her body up and down on her cage floor and against the cage walls...wanting to come in and be with everyone. She's terrific. She also loves it when the dogs play - just sings and chirps along with them as they talk while playing. Yep - nothing better than having a Starling around for entertainment. Glad to share stories with you :-)

Hi, I signed the petition "maximum penalty for the men who hacked up a puppy." I'm asking you to sign this petition to help us reach our goal of 100,000 signatures. I care deeply about this cause, and I hope you will support our efforts. Here are the basics of the case:
Hardened police officers have been shocked by the horrifying torture, mutilation and brutal slaying of a seven month old fox terrier puppy near Mackay at the weekend.
If found guilty, they could face up to two years in prison. Police have obtained video footage from a mobile phone which shows graphic images of the puppy yelping and howling in terrible pain as it hacked to pieces with garden shears and a pocked knife.
They said the owners were too distressed to talk to anyone about it.
The pups nose was cut off, its front right leg and rear left leg were cut off and it was decapitated. A three-part video series on a mobile phone shows the dog being tortured.
The maximum penalty under the Animal Care and Protection Act for such an offence is $75,000 or two years in jail; however the maximum penalty ever handed out has been a four month jail term.
WE BELIEVE THESE MEN SHOULD RECIEVE THE MAXIMUN PENALTY AVAILABLE IN AUSTRALIA FOR THIS SADISTIC, DISGUSTING ACT.

Its so nice to read your stories. People think that such birds are not very smart, but I've found it isnt true! When I removed Tweety's water bath in order to try to get her to drink from a water bottle, she suddeny started using the word - WHAAA-TERRR! Poor thing sounded like someone crawling thru the desert! BTW, it didnt work, either. Finally had to settle on a water dish that is too small for her to crawl into...yet she will still try from time to time.
So glad you joined in. Welcome!
I agree about the lack of postings. I recently signed up in the hopes to have some wonderful discussions about Gsd but I have not seen the thought provoking conversations I know we all wish for.
So here is what I have been working on with my Gsd's-…
The pups are doing great. There are 2 boys and 1 girl. It was a small litter but that's ok. Here last litter was of 7. I am looking for another female to breed with my male this summer.
funny thing is i have seen more agressive little dogs then i do with bigger and med sized dogs. my sister was chased by 10 wennie dogs and was bitten. she to this day is scared to death, in tears freaking out and crying becuz there is a little dog.…
