I don't know much about it, but I do know that there was a little 5 year old boy who died from it the night before he was supposed to start kindergarten. That's sad.

Profile Information

Proud pet parent of:
I am the proud mama of Harley Davidson Laughlin, he is our wonderful Heinz 57. He is collie/shepherd and lab. He was a rescue, from a cruel and unloving home. I am also the proud grandma to a sweet little kitten...Picabo (peek-a-boo), she is my 17yr olds cat. She's a stinker but we loveher just the same. Just became grandma to Val Halla, a sweet black and white kitten who was a rescue, and to Jasper a Huskie/Wolf. We have just adopted a 4 week old kitten, Ali Babba, Ali for short. He a sweet little ball of grey fluff, check out the pictures.
Q-T (cutie) is the latest additon to the family. We adopted her from our local vet after her expecting momma was abandoned there.
How we met:
I saw an ad in the paper: Free dog. I am so glad that we (my husband and I) decided to check it out.
We decided to take him, and it was the best move we ever made. The kitten was picked out of a litter as a gift for our daughter last year. Our daughter picked her out.
Our little Val Halla was recued from a busy road and came home in my daughter's huge purse. Jasper was rescued from my ex-husband by my 17 yr old daughter. Both are quite happy now. Ali came to us in a milk crate, brought home by my daughter. He had been stepped on and then put out side on the porch and left to die. My Nikole couldn't and wouldn't let that happen so now he is here with us. We have to feed him kitten formula with an eye dropper but he is eating fine. He will be here forever.
We heard about our new baby from our vet, who told us about her momma. After losing our little Ali, we told him that we would one of the kittens a home. We chose Q-T because she was so adorable with that short little tail Q-T stands for Quarter tail.
Pet likes:
Harley loves....Peanut butter, and going byebye in the car. We can't even spell BYe Bye, because he will be at the door whining to leave. Picabo, likes to drink out of Harley's water bucket, he's a gentleman and lets her. Picabo and Val Halla (Val for short) like to chase each other everyday. They play until they are exhausted and then sleep curled up next to each other. Jasper is a Howler (that's the wolf in her). She also likes to wrestle with the kids, and steal pop bottles off of them. We don't know what he likes yet, except to eat and sleep. He loves being cuddled like a baby and held where he can hear your heartbeat.
Q-T likes to lay on daddy's lap and having him pet her. His hold hand covers her little body.
Pet dislikes:
Picabo at this point is not a cuddle kitty, she doesn't want to be held.
Harley, is not crazy about men, and small children, the reason being the man, and children in his former home, were his tormentors. Val Halla doesn't like Harley...Guess it's because he is so much bigger than her. Jasper doesn't like it if you ignore her, and she will howl at you to get your attention. Q-T doesn't like it when you mess with her tail, and she let's you know about it.
Pet’s favorite spot:
Picabo's fave spot...on a pile of warm clean laundry, or behind my cow cookie jar on my corner cabinet.
Harley's fave spot is where ever mama is. He is my shadow. Val's favorite place is curled up next to Picabo. i think she thinks Picabo is her momma, since she is so little. Jasper's favorite spot is wherever we are. She is very social. Both her and Harley get along great. Ali's fave spot is wrapped in a warm towel and cuddled close. Q-T likes to be on daddy's lap or held close by momma's heartbeat.
Pet’s favorite toy:
Jasper's favorite toy, is anything she can chew on.
Q-T's favorite toy is her cat nip mousie and chewing on daddy's fingers.
Pet’s silliest habit:
Picabo bounces or slides sideways into the room and sniffs Harley's nose, then turns and runs up the stair like she's been shot out of a cannon.
Harley every now and then likes to sneak a drink from the Toilet Bowl. You see, we keep the lid down, the water is clean, we see to that because, he will go up stairs, lift the seat and lid with his nose; stick his head in and drink. We caught him doing it one day, as soon as, he realized he was "busted", he yanked his head out, letting the lid slam loudly, and ran to his "sissy's" room, jumped on the bed and acted like he wasn't doing anything. The kitten (Val) is silly period. Jasper's is her howling and sticking her but into the air, wagging her tail. Val Halla becomes extremely "fluffy" when she sees the dog. Her whole body poofs up, and she runs sideways up the steps.
Q-T Will jump straight up in the air and then take off running.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
Picabo: When she bounces into the bathroom and greets me every morning.
Harley: There are so many, He will lick the tears off of my face when we're sad, nuzzle you when your down and never leave your side, when you're sick. When I fell down my basement steps, injuring my knee, 1st he licked off the tears, then he turned around and let me pull my self up off the floor using his back and haunches to brace myself, and then helped me up the stairs. Once I was safely deposited onto the recliner, he went and woke both my kids for me. Ali's first little mews, so soft and so sweet.
I crack up when my pet:
When it snows, Harley will go outside, stick his nose in it and run around in circles.
Picabo, well she's just plain nuts....she has us laughing all the time, guess it's just the kitten.
I lose it when Val Halla spots Harley and she poofs up. Harley just looks at me like, "what'd I do?"
When Cutie (Q-T) wiggles her little but before pouncing on you.
My pet is unique because:
Our Harley, can: Tell you a story. He knows how to whisper, how to play , which hand is it in?. He gives high 5, dap and paw. knows how to spell (especially G-O and B-Y-E B-Y-E, and C-O-O-K-I-E). He can also talk...He say's: "Love you." "I want it"
"Out". "Mama" and "uh huh" Harley loves his "little brother" Ali. He kisses him and washes his face.
Q-T's tail comes out, crooks over to the left and then a little point goes to the right. Her tail was broken when she was born and the vet had to amputate the dead part.

EVERYTIME...I AM WATCHING YOU

Everytime you hit one one of my animal children, you hit me.
Everytime you deny them food, water and shelter, you also deny me.
Everytime a dog dies in the fighting ring, you kill a little piece of me.
Everytime time you try to make a species extinct, you are trying to get rid of me.
Everytime you torture one of mine, you also torture me.
Everytime you think no one sees what you're doing you are wrong...I am watching you EVERYTIME!
For evertime you have hurt, maimed or killed an animal "just for… Continue

highway rescue

Last night my husband daughter and me, were all coming home from a lovely family night out. On the way, we saw something that broke our hearts, A sweet little dog, trying to cross a busy highway in the dark. All my husband said, was "Hold on" he got off and right back on the highway in a matter of seconds. As we were heading back toward where the pup was, he frantically tried to figure the quickest way to get back on the side where the dog was. As we approached the area where he was, we saw a ca… Continue

Any cute pet stories?

Pets, as we all know, can be very amusing at times. Does anyone out there have some cute stories they would like to share? Here is mine, My dog Harley does a perfect imitation of Arnold Horseshack, from Welcome Back Kotter. When we hold up a treat, we say "Anybody here who want this can they raise their hand" He immediately sticks his paw in the air and start to give out short little whimpers. He sounds like Horseshack when he does this. When someone looks at him and say, "Oh you want it" He act… Continue

just a little note of interest.....

Dog is God spelled backwards! So whenever you do something a Dog, you are also doing it to God!

My daughter showed me a cute bumper sticker the other day. It said: "Dogs come when you call them.....Cats Have answering machines." and the other one was....."Dogs think they are human, cats think they're God."

LONG LIVE THE ANIMALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
