Yes there are animals here in the U.S. that do need to be cared for as well. That is not what this petition is about. There are animals everywhere that need to be cared for.
These animals offer our troops so much. They give them the unconditional love that our men and women need to get through a very hard time in their lives. Those of us who haven't been there could never imagine what our military go through. They rescue these animals and give their love to these animals but if they get caught with them then the animals are taken away from them and killed. I personally think that it doesn't matter that these animals where not born in the U.S. they have given so much to our troops that they should be treated as hero's as well.
This is of course my opinion and everyone is entitled to their own but I don't see how putting into place a program to spay and neuter animals in Iraq will help keep the population down. This is a war torn country that at the moment can't even take care of the human population little own think about the animals. The U.S. can't even put together a program to keep the dog and cat population under control. Working in a shelter you should know what these innocent little unloved and unwanted souls go through. If we (the greatest country in the world) can't fix this problem then Iraq surly can't be expected to do so.
Anyway that is enough of my ranting.... I really do wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
