I have seen some of the posts on this issue. I was apalled at how some of the posts were personal. The woman asked for help not money. I know people have their right to opinions and more power to them. I have had many animals and I am from a dirt po…

For starters any emergency vet office will charge an arm and a leg. I work in an animal hospital myself and I can assure you they will work with you on payments. Accidents do happen though so be prepared. A small animal hospital won't charge you tha…

I do understand people go through hard times but putting a animal to sleep is just wrong and irresponsible. I know you did not say you are or would put the dog down but still you did take that responsibility to care and love this animal. Its the sam…

Just so there is no misunderstanding, I want you to know that I wasn't trying to be hard on you, but there are so many people on here with tragic circumstances, and they all start out talking about how they can't afford this or that.. and then they ask for money. There were three posters just like that today. If I assumed incorrectly about you, I apologize. But it is a frustrating time when your animal is hurt and you can't afford to fix it. It tends to upset an animal advocate such as myself. It's not fair on many levels, but especially to your dog.

However, every guess you made about me is way off base. I actually started laughing.. I'm not a cat lady, I have two dogs, live in Arizona with my husband, had a farm, raised quarter horses and trained them, I actually don't own a cat anymore.. my husband is allergic to them.

I was a single Mom for 17 years.. couldn't afford a movie ticket, boy scout dues, little league fees.. we were POOR. I didn't get one thin dime from my ex husband, my kids received nothing from their dad for birthdays, Christmas or even an occasional phone call or letter. You dont' cry about it.. you survive and you become a better person. Sorry you are going through it, but many women do. You are not alone there.

I would have loved to have a dog back in those days, but I knew in my heart that I couldn't afford one if it got sick or needed to see the vet. I had no business getting one, so we didn't have that either.

And yes, I am a veteran. I was in the Navy, my dad was a retired veteran and I really didn't appreciate the little slap about my patriotism. You can apologize to me for that.. it was not deserved. Be careful about what you assume.

You have options.. you just haven't thought of them yet. Get a second job.. hell, I had three for Christmas just to buy presents. Volunteer at the vet and work it off, sell something, ask a relative to borrow money.. find some gifting resources on the web. There are lots of things you can do... you just need to be determined and you'll find a way. Delete Comment
