That happened to my dog when she got bit by a spider. The hair never grew back either...she has a funny bald spot on her side. :)
I think it sounds like either mange or a hot spot, however. Take your dog to the vet- both are treatable.

Sounds like mange, but could also be a Hot Spot from chewing. Best to go to the Vet and and medicate it so it doesn't spread. Best to go to the Vet so they can give you a clear diagnosis.

It sounds like it also could be demodex which is treatable. Please take your dog to the Vet for assurance and any medication that will be needed to heal the spot.
My girls have had that before and I also give them fish oil capsules along with Vitam…
I hate to say this but it might be ringworm. Is it a circle? Should call the vet.

- WOW!! he will be a huge pittie. Princess is 13 months and only 50 lbs. Shes built just like her momma! Posey (5 months) is almost the same size as princess. She's only and inch or so shorter than Princess.

- give him a tire. If you have a yard hang one up for him. when he geta to the tread replace it. 2 used tires=$20 cheaper than a kong any day. I am glad Princess is only 50 lbs and doesn'tlook like she's getting much bigger. Posey is only 5 months old and almost the same size.

- Have you tried Kong toys. It's the only think my 2 haven't demolished yet. And it looks like it may be a long time before they do. They had a bovine bone and Princess broke it in half. The walls of the bone were almost an inch thick.

- I am looking to get a shorter leash. I found a 2 feet one on the internet so he is right by my side. Once we tire him out then no more pulling. I watch dog whisperer but some of things dont work or maybe I am not doing it right.

The only thing with Patch is that he dont play well with male dogs. but he is friendly and he listens in the house only when we get out side he turns into to pits that people only know them to be. He be barking and pulling me.

- yea dog parks around here dont like my two either got a friend that has another one and then the pet store for treats and food they always come along...just as long as the behave around here people seem to be warming up to them but you can still tell they are a lil Leary around them. and mine arent as big as yours....the weight tops 50 lbs...Sammie we are workin on getting her weight up a lil bit yet. When the anaimal shelter around here got her she was 4 months old and weighed like 16 lbs...n loves to chew everything we give her

- I kno what you mean there one of mine is 2 and the other is 9 months i love it when they are just laying around the house other wise its up and run run run...both have a lot of energy yet when others are over they dont believe that they do because they are typically laid back then unless i have them out side then they run a bit more

More like New Years Resolutions to break for me, but I plan to spend more time out in the "real" word instead of online, and to extend my knowledge of horses/animal health. I guess it wouldn't hurt to pull my grades up a bit, either.
