Profile Information

Proud pet parent of:
Trouble - currently 2yrs - Indoors

Gizmo - Currently 2yrs - Indoors

Silk - Currently 9yrs - indoors

This is Tippy, hes currently 8 yrs old. Hes back home with my mother and brother. Hes a family pet. Hes a sweet old man. Hes an indoor/outdoor cat.

How we met:
I was working at an animal hospital in Mt. Vernon when i adopted trouble and gizmo.

Trouble - Adopted Sept 2006

A fireman and his entire crew dropped him off, said he had been thrown out of a car and he ran behind the station and it took them a few days before they could catch him. he was only about 6-7 weeks old when he came in. The fireman was supposed to adopt him, but he was with us for almost 2 weeks and i fell more and more inlove with him and so after waiting for the man to come back long enough i adopted him.

A month later....

Gizmo - Adopted Oct 31 2006

Giz and his 6 litter mates were dropped off by a woman who took care of a female cat who snuck into her garage everyday. she took care of them until they could be removed from her mother who was a feral cat by the way. they came to us flea infested but they were so adorable and you couldnt help but want to play with them all. I fell in love with gizmo right from the start he was the runt of the litter, the smallest and they shyest, when id pick him up hed dig his nails into anything that he could hook onto. I adopted him and brought him home after only a week.

Baby Trouble & Gizmo

Silk - Adopted Nov 2007

Shes a 9year old cat I adopted from Just Strays. She came to us with a pre-existing respiratory condition, but you wouldnt know anything was wrong with her, or how old she was, by the way she acts. We love our silkers.

Silkers

Tippy - April 2000

My father gave him to us as a gift, we had lost one of our cats, spot and my brother and i were really upset so several months later Tippy came into our lives.

Tippy

Pet likes:
Trouble - Belly rubs (hes like a dog)

Gizmo - His forehead to be scratched

Silk - Getting her back rubbed

Tippy - Sleeping
Pet dislikes:
Trouble - getting a bath

Gizmo - getting his nails cut

Silk - Being surprised. Im not sure what happened to her as a kitten but she doesnt like being snuck up on or having someone she doesnt know try and pet her.

Tippy - Having a house full of people and kids
Pet’s favorite spot:
Trouble - laying under the covers of our bed between my husband and myself

Gizmo - Over the covers on the foot of the bed or on a pillow

Silk - Against either one of our pillows at the very top of the bed

Tippy - Sleeping under the kitchen table

Pet’s favorite toy:
Trouble - a small beenie baby sized yellow duck. He getes mad if you try and take it away from him. He also loves pens and pencils.

Gizmo - Scooby do toy. He is also protective of his scooby do. He also really loves this small plastic yellow ball with a bell inside it. he walks around with it in his mouth. he wont go after any other ball.

Silk - She doesnt care to much for toys. She does however like to attack my hair clips. if she sees one thats loose she will fling it around a bit.
Pet’s silliest habit:
Trouble - Everytime i leave my bedroom, if hes in there he will stay in there and meow until he sees me again. and then i will ask whats wrong and he tilts his head to the side and meows lightly.

Gizmo - He likes to just run back and forth and jump on and off everything and anything and he will do it over and over again for like 5 minutes sometimes and then he just stops and stretches out on the floor. He does it by himself and he is chasing nothing.

Silk - She likes to lick our faces. My husband shaves his head and at night or in the morning sometimes he wakes up to her licking his head. I crack up laughing everytime.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
Trouble - He will hop on top of your lap and keep turning around as you pet him until he just collapses on his side so you can rub his belly. he passes out quick.

Gizmo - when he just walks up to you with those golden eyes and meows at you to pick him up and when you do he just puts both front paws over your shoulder and lets em hang. hes like a baby.

Silk - she loves to hug. she will climb up on my lap and put one paw on either side of my neck and rub her head beneath my chin. she snuggles!
I crack up when my pet:
When all three of them see a bug and they start chasing it and meowing at us so we can catch it. And even after weve removed the bug they continue to search for it. We call them the "Bug Patrol".
My pet is unique because:
Trouble - loves having his nails cut. he actually falls asleep on my lap while im cutting them. He also loves fruit and cranberry juice. He doesnt meow like a regular cat, hes actually been very mute until about 6 months ago and even so he still meows as low as a kitten. its very low and very short.

Gizmo - hes not too much of a lap cat. he actually very rarely sleeps on your lap. He loves to jump in the bathtub (while its empty) and just lie down inside of it. he stretches out and just passes out.

Silk - She likes the water. They very first bath we gave her she just sat there. She doesnt even cry.

DISGUSTED! IM BOYCOTTING CHINA!

2,000,000 cats and dogs are sadistically skinned alive every year in China for their fur and left to die slowly in shock and excrutiating pain.

"Because", say the Chinese: "its easier to skin a live warm animal that's convulsing in agony than a dead body".

Please go to this site. Theres a video on there, i couldnt finish watching it.

Sign the petition.
To: The Government of the Peoples Republic of China

Please urgently introduce legislation in China to:

1. Make it illegal to slaughter cats,… Continue

I want to adopt every animal in shelters, flyers, newspapers, I want to take care of all of them. Every stray cat i see outside, I cant help but calling it over, though they dont come, probably feral...sigh. I know I adopted these 3 and i know ill most likely be adopting more cats and a couple of dogs once my husband and i buy a house, with a big yard.. but im so impatient! And i know that once i have a big house im going to want to adopt them all...

hello vanda.I couldn't watch that horrible video either!!!!It MAKES ME SICK!!!!To see what the chinese do to their animals,it really makes me wonder just who the "animals" are and who the "humans are!!!I collect coffee cups and almost all of them are from china!!!!I can't help myself when i see one that takes my fancy because like i said,i collect them.I'm in school to become a feline vet and i also rescue cats here in MINOT,ND and animal abuse is one thing that makes me madder than hell!!!!I don't plan on de-clawing any cats unless theres a good medical reason for it,i'm not working in a clinic yet because i'm just about finnished with my vet assisant course and i hope to start vet-tech school by next month.lori

Dear Vanda,
I have spent a $$$ on collars and name tags. Somehow they always come off. I have been thinking about getting them chipped. The boys, Ricco & Youngblood are the real escape artist. My husband and I build a large net covered enclosure play pen for the cats and I found Ricco sitting on the side porch this afternoon. Go figure. My neighbor is really a nut job, and is just very hateful. She runs hot or cold. One day she will be nice and the next day, hell hath no fury. Anyway, just ask St. Frank to keep an eye on my little family and the other cats in the hood. Bye, Cat

Hello Vanda, I wanted to let you know that I've done a lot of research on china, bejing, korea. And the disgusting abuse that goes on there. I have found an organization that is doing really well to help combat these practices. It is called IAKA International Aid for Korean Animals. And was founded by a very strong woman named Kyenan Kum. I believe another organization associated with them is called Koreananimals.org - contact them for thier newsletter and recieve postcards to send to influencial gov't officials. I am whole heartedly involved with helping in any way that I can over there. In memory of every animal - robyn

Hi Tara! I'm doing the same with limiting the carrots and apples - in fact I've totally cut them out for the moment as my rabbit is on a diet. It's not doing much good as she's still a bit podgy! Ha ha! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who gets…
