Vanessa, wet food is essential for cats. The best primer on this issue is the paper @www.catinfo.org. You will make progress with all of your animals. If you go to a completely home prepared diet for you dog (not as hard as it may sound, really, once you get the hang of it- my brother makes the ingredients once a week...), you will need to find a good multivitamin supplement to fill in any gaps. Good luck!
