Maggie. She is our 16 month old Beagle. We got her from a Beagle Rescue organization in Houston when she was 5 months old. She had been given up because her original home had "too many pets" (so sad---why did they get that many in the first place). She was placed in a foster home with several other beagles.
How we met:
We were browsing the beagle rescue organizations in the Houston area and saw her photo and it was love at first sight! We filled out an online application and talked on the phone with the foster mom, then the next weekend they brought her to our home for a visit and to inspect our home to make sure it was "beagle proof", LOL. We passed with flying colors and she got to stay the very same day. She immediately took over and acted like this had always been her home. She was already crate trained and potty trained, so we really had a "head start".
Pet likes:
Maggie likes FOOD, as do ALL beagles! She also likes playing ball, going for walks, and going to Petsmart to socialize with all the other doggies and BUY MORE TOYS and TREATS!
Pet dislikes:
Maggie dislikes brussels sprouts! She LOVES most other veggies added to her Science Diet---carrots, green beans, etc., and she loves ground sirloin and of course, steak! Oh, she also likes cantaloupe, LOL. As for doggie treats---she's not picky---she'll eat any type of treat, so we keep a variety of them around for training purposes.
Pet’s favorite spot:
Her favorite spot is anywhere her two "mommas" are---me and my partner. She loves sitting on her ottoman looking out the front window watching the kids play. When we're watching tv in the great room, her favorite place is laying on the back of the pillows on our big overstuffed chairs.
Pet’s favorite toy:
Her favorite toy is any of her balls---and believe me, she has every shape, color, size, etc. She has a huge toy basket thats FULL of them! And any type of "Kong" toy is good because she cant chew them to pieces. We tried the "stuffies", but they dont work because she chews holes in them, then pulls all the stuffing out and it looks like its snowed! So no more stuffies.
Pet’s silliest habit:
Her silliest habit is finding tree limbs that have fallen off the trees in our back yard, grabbing them and running like crazy around and around in circles all over the yard.
Pet’s sweetest moments:
Her sweetest moments are when she is sitting on the couch staring at the big screen TV watching "Animal Planet" when other dogs are on. She likes the cats too. Her favorite show is "The Dog Whisperer".
I crack up when my pet:
I crack up when Maggie runs around the house carrying two balls in her mouth trying to get me to run after her.
My pet is unique because:
Maggie is definitely unique and has a one of a kind personality. She NEVER meets a stranger and loves everybody.

sounds like the vet needs to look into how he is handling the horses. our vet has handeled many of our fresh, green broke horses and one was put under completly for a similiar procedure but thank god nothing this bad happened. I'm very sorry to hear…
That isn't fair at all.... in my tiny town of 300 people they tried to make strict laws on how you must restrain a pit.. we own two.. the law said you must keep them on a 3 foot long chain, not a rope, when they were off your property (no leash law…
I wouldn't know from personal experience that she won't be but in my opinion very good socialization and as I would put it "extensive doggy training boot camp" at an early age will be the best to prevent any issues and at any sign of aggression corr…
