Hi girl!! :)

I loved reading your last post about your brother and all the wonderful but really difficult counseling he has done for Firefighters and their families. I too really respect and admire my husband for what he does. He works so hard at the Fire Station, and usually he's exhausted when he comes home from work, but we are taking our vacation next week, so Yea!!! (no work)

Yes, I agree that sometimes Firefighters see and experience some pretty traumatic things. My hubby has been to some pretty disturbing and difficult calls regarding children who have drowned or died, etc... It's always so hard when he goes to those kinds of calls, but after a while, they kind of get used to it somehow. I think they have to; otherwise, they would go crazy; I know I would!!

I wish we lived closer also. How fun it's been getting to know you online. Who knows, maybe one day in the future, if I am ever in the state of Georgia, I'll have to say hi. :) I think God does allow people to meet for different reasons, and I'm glad I've met you!!

Have a great day!! :)
Love ya,
Marie

Hey Friend!! I had no idea turtles live that long--wow! We had turtles growing up, but they sadly didn't make it too long-they always got soft shells.

I am so glad you mentioned your husband. Is he a firefighter?? I saw the pictures of him in all his gear and kept forgetting to ask you. I dated a Firefighter/Paramedic from Chicago for 5 years!! I am sure you know I have SO many stories about what he did to help save people. I absolutely think they are the best!!!!! They are such heroes and so modest about what they do. I remember many times when I was so worried, but just prayed constantly and knew it was in God's hands. Sounds like you are the same:):) People don't realize they just don't fight fires, there are many, many other examples of why they are HEROES!!! The near fatal rescue is another example!! I bet your kids are so proud of him!!!!! Kids look up to Firefighters so much!!

While we are talking about Firefighters, I wanted to share with you what my brother does. He is a Marriage and Family Therapist, but also was trained to counsel for Post Traumatic Stress and has done many 'Debriefing sessions in several high profile situations here in Atlanta. What he loves the most about his job is that he is a volunteer for the Gwinett County Fire Department!! They will call him if there has been an incident which involves a fellow firefighter their family, or when a firefighter is having a rough time. The cool thing is the relationship he has with them. He has done this for 13 years. He says they treat him like one of their 'brothers'. In fact, when my brother had to have emergency open heart surgery and almost died (was only 46), one of the Firefighters stayed with our family the entire time he was in surgery. We will never forget him!!!!

The one thing none of my family will forget is when he was called to New York after 911 and held many debriefing sessions for the New York Firefighters. He was actually on Ground Zero.

I am so glad you told me about my comments. I still am confused about it and will look at the group to see if I can finally do this right:):)

Have a awesome day!!! You are the best!!!!! You know, I sure wish we lived closer:) It always amazes me that God brings people into our lives for many reasons:):) I feel like I have known you for so long--smiles!! It seems we have so many of the same feelings, values, etc.

Hugs Marie!

Hey Vicki,

We don't have a snake yet, but we rescued another turtle, and I'm not real sure if we are going to keep her. She's healthy, and we almost ran over her, and I actually stopped traffic, so my 13 year old could walk out and get her out of the road. She's about 12 years old, and seems happy, so I think I'm going to fatten her up a little with crickets and worms and fruit, and then release her. Turtles live for such a long time, and I don't know if I want another one this young. Our turtle is about 25 we think, and she'll probably live to be over 50 in captivity.

Anyways, we've been super busy too with Summer fun activities and trying to stay cool. We are having our monsoon now since we are in the desert, and that's nice. It cools things down a lot and everything gets green for a while.

My husband actually had a near fatal rescue the other day when an elderly man was caught in his car during a flash flood! Scared me to death. I know he has a risky job, but being swept away in a flood was never anything I worried about until now! I have said more prayers for him for sure lately!

Keep in touch........Sorry for the novel :) Nice talking with you again!!! xxxooo Oh, I found that group "User's guide" and commented there... I hope it helps people who have questions...

By the way, I noticed that sometimes you post comments to me or other people on Your page instead of theirs or mine. Sadly, I don't see the messages if they are on your page and not mine...just wanted to tell you...don't want to miss your messages!! :-)

thanks for the nice comment... the petition is only about animal adoption... Bestfriends and one other group are just paying attention to the animal issue... and not taking a political stance... as someone in Helping Animals thought it was. Of course, you know that, though.
Have a great day!

Hi Marion--first, YIPPEEEE and thanks!!!! I most definitely will visit and use, 'Users Guide for this Site'. I'm sure you are aware that it is not only very confusing on where to go to post comments, but in animal emergencies, especially abuse, or a loss of a pet, we need the benefit of exactly what you are trying to accomplish with this--kudos to you:):). There are many cases where we need to help people get the most replies. I have had several new 'friends' tell me how confusing it is not knowing where to go to post comments, and get no response back. Guess you can tell I am very excited about what you are doing--smiles. THANKS!!

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Vicki

p.s.--do you know if I posted it back to the right Pam?? I couldn't find her original comment anywhere? Thanks!!
