RICO, DEXTER, SHAYNA & NIKKI say HI!

Proud pet parent of:

Rico (2 y.o. chihuahua/min-pin mix), Dexter (another 2 y.o. chihuahua/min-pin mix) Shayna (2 y.o. JRT mix) & Nikki (15 y.o. Lab mix)

How we met:

All either from shelters or rescues - Rico was found wandering the streets in Dover, ended up in a high-kill, I saw his sweet terrified face on Petfinders and the rest is history. Dexter was almost killed by some insane kids in Indiana - luckily my friend and fellow Chipin mom put us together & hooked up Small Animal Transport so Dexter could join our family. Thanks, Kayce! And Shayna was in a high-kill in SC, then transferred to a rescue up North before making herself at home with us. Nikki is the sweetest Lab mix ever; still full of energy & opinion at 15 - she was a left-behind girl, and we're glad she was, cuz she has her forever home here!

Pet likes:

Chewy stuff, fluffy toys and the organic stew mom makes us every weekend. Love running circles around the couch, the yard, the mom. Dex's fave is jumping up & down in front of the huge finch cage barking his head off.

Pet dislikes:

Anyone who's mean (like the neighbor across the street)...

Pet’s favorite spot:

The closer to mom the better! But under any blanket takes a close second!

Pet’s favorite toy:

A singing monkey toy and fuzzy sherpa people

Pet’s silliest habit:

Pet’s sweetest moments:

Rico lays on his back and puts his front paws together in front of his nose like he's saying his prayers - so cute! When Shayna first wakes up she is so sleepy she just blinks for about 5 minutes, then tries to burrow undercover again. Dex is the big kisser - he'll wash your face if you let him. Nikki buries her head between your knees so you'll scratch behind her ears.

I crack up when my pet:

Dances for treats, skids across the kitchen floor, jumps when surprised by a grasshopper.

My pet is unique because:

They are all survivors and any dog that has been abused comes away with trust & other issues. But after all they've been through, my little ones are so sweet & loving, inquisitive, funny and happy. I just adore them all!
