Hi everyone. I envy all of you who have a story like that to tell. When I lost my beloved Misi almost nine years ago I had no doubt that that was not the end, but when Berlioz (my partner's Samoyed) died last year I was completely devastated by doub…

Yes, I have. Our Katie visited us for months after she died. I could be walking down the hall and all of the sudden, there she'd be, standing just watching me. I put it down to being a trick of my eyes and memory the first few times....until her "…

When our Katie had to be put to sleep, we held a funeral in our yard, like many do. We placed a short, picket fence around her grave and about 20 foot of ground surrounding it. We were also able to purchase a specially made cement pawprint with her…

Profile Information

My website or blog:
http://myspace.com/amra_seshen
Proud pet parent of:
Shadow(rottie x)& Star (sheppard x) for dogs, Caesar , Smidge, Tiger and Ol Smokey (feral) for kitties, Cobb, Black Jack & Winchester for horses, Snowflake, Diamond, Fuzzbub, Widget, Blanco and (the latest) Honey Bunny for rabbits. Golly gee, and 3 fish! The comet goldfish don't have names but the beta is named: Nixla (The Harvester of Souls).
How we met:
All of my animals are rescues (except the fish). Shadow, was found thrown out with garbage. Star was wondering around the area, starving. Caesar, Tiger and Smidge were adopted from Life Savers Animal Rescue. The rabbits are all ones that needed homes, except Widget. Widget was in a farm store and was so sweet I just had to get the baby bun. Cobb is an ex-racehorse rescued by PETA from the movie "Dreamer" and the pony, Winchester from unsupervised children. Black Jack was given to me by our riding friend, for the trails.
Pet likes:
Lots of lov'ns, Toys &Treats, treats, treats*grin* For Black Jack, a place where he is loved!
Pet dislikes:
cruel people and they seem to know them by sight. Cobb suffers from bad memories of having his head tied to his tail and beaten while tied up. black Jack was beaten by a lunge whip by his previous owner.
Pet’s favorite spot:
The kitties love to sit in their window boxes and sun themselves. Shadow and Star like to lay on the cool grass with the sun shining. Cobb loves to have a roll under an old plum tree.
Pet’s favorite toy:
Smidge, the bobtail kitty, loves a string toy I made her. She also loves to chase a laser pointer. Tiger loves his cube toy as strings hang from the roof. Caesar has a stretchy string with a fake mouse he "foots" like crazy!

My big baby, Cobb, loves his plastic, giant apple. He swings it around like a lasso.
Pet’s silliest habit:
Cobb loves to just race around the field. Then again it must feel good to be an ex-race horse that gets to run when he wants to. Winchester loves to get scratched all over.

Nixla, the beta, attacks the glass if I get too close to it.

Widget bounces off the house in the hutch and licks my fingers!
Pet’s sweetest moments:
all the love'ns! Whether its the cats, dogs or even my horse and pony! To see them happy and healthy!
I crack up when my pet:
Cobb takes his toy apple and swings it around and around with his teeth! Also when he needs a hug or kiss from "mom" He gallops straight up to me and stops with in a foot of me. He then wraps his head around me and pins me btween his shoulder and head. Then its time to give him a kiss on the side of the muzzle.
My pet is unique because:
like all pets, because they don't judge and give unconditional love. They are just so happy to have a forever home now.

heart meditation

Heart Meditation
Afraid of Opening Your Heart

It is not easy to have an open heart in a world that offers us a full
plate of experiences. This life gives us much joy, love, and light, but
it also shows us a fair amount of pain, sadness, and suffering. When our
hearts are open, we take everything into ourselves, and we are deeply
affected by what we see. We do not hold ourselves separate from the pain
of others. In addition, our own personal disappointments may begin to
take their toll. We may f… Continue

Discovering True Selves
Soul Seeing

When we want to see deeply into the heart and mind of another person,
soul seeing, also called soul gazing, allows us to see their soul. The
soul is the purest expression of an individual and is not bound by
physical forms or fleeting emotions. Through a simple art that involves
looking deeply into a partner's eyes, soul seeing can show you a
person's inner beauty that you might otherwise miss. It is possible for
someone who appears cold to have a warm, givin… Continue

Wild Wisdom
Animals As Teachers

Since prehistoric times, animals have acted as companions to humans on
their journey toward enlightenment. Animals as disparate in character as
house pets, birds, sea creatures, and insects have been our mentors,
teachers, and guides. There is much we can learn from animals, as they
offer us the unique opportunity to transcend the human perspective.
Unlike human teachers, animals can only impart their wisdom by example,
and we learn from them by observation. An a… Continue

Focused Value
Quality Vs. Quantity

We live in an age of quantity. The media shapes us with the notion that
larger, faster, and more are often synonymous with better. We are told
that we need to find more time, more possessions, and more love to be
truly happy. A smaller quantity of anything that is high in quality will
almost always be more satisfying. A single piece of our favorite
chocolate or a thin spread of freshly made preserves can satisfy us more
than a full bucket of a product that we… Continue

Fully Committed to Now
Why We Are Not Shown the Big Picture

Sometimes, we may find ourselves wishing we knew what our lives are
going to look like or what gifts and challenges are going to be
presented to us in the coming months or years. We may want to know if
the relationship we're in now will go the distance or if our goals will
be realized. Perhaps we feel like we need help making a decision and we
want to know which choice will work out best. We may consult psychics,
tarot cards, our dream… Continue

reflections of self

Reflections of Self
We Are All Mirrors for Each Other

When we look at other people, we see many of their qualities in
innumerable and seemingly random combinations. However, the qualities
that we see in the people around us are directly related to the traits
that exist in us. "Like attracts like" is one of the spiritual laws of
the universe. We attract individuals into our lives that mirror who we
are. Those you feel drawn to reflect your inner self back at you, and
you act as a mirror for them… Continue

Let It Flow
Tears

How wonderful it feels to give in and let tears flow when we are
overwhelmed with emotions, whether we are happy or sad. Tears come from
the soul, from our well of feelings rising from deep down. When we give
in to the prickling behind our eyes and the lump in our throat to let
teardrops fall from our eyes, we allow our feelings to surface so they
can be set free.
Proud parents shed tears of pride in a child's accomplishments, a baby's
first step, birthdays, and graduations. L… Continue

in awe of beauty

In Awe Of Beauty
Beauty

Beauty speaks to us in soft whispers or bold declarations. She calls on
us to gaze in awe at her splendor. We are enticed by beauty. We adore
her, idolize her, and even court her. Beauty seduces all of our senses.
Beauty's seduction can be as obvious as the striking good looks of a man
or woman or as subtle as the charms of a shaggy dog with loving brown
eyes. We find beauty in the wonders of nature. Beauty offers us a
symphony of colors with every sunrise and sunset and… Continue

gut response

Gut Response
In Touch With True Emotions

So often, emotions that we long to express get stored in our bodies
instead. The space where this most often happens is in our bellies.
Rather than telling people, our even ourselves, the way we truly feel,
we may stuff our true feelings deep inside of us, where they take up
space until we are ready to let them go. Stuffing our feelings in our
bellies may feel like the "safe" response, since we then don't really
have to deal with our emotions. Yet, doing… Continue
